Good Job man💥- I was a little scepital' at first, with your "Wally Cox" Voice 😅 but you nailed it' with your mechanical experttiese, and very well explained, plan of attack !!! 🛠
i keep the fender cover on and just loosen it if i need to adjust it. I just take the frame off it swings to the side its alott easier to align it when reassembling
Tuscancmh, removing that bolt that is in between the door is easier to do with a long extension while you are inside the passenger seat. Well, more like the floor of the passenger side. You will be able to see it between the dashboard and the crack/hinge of the door.
Yeah, I open the door to the first catch and use a socket driver from the passenger seat. It's a straight shot in and you don't have to worry about losing your fingers.
Come on guys...That is absurd.. take the tire off then the wheel well, then reach back to get the battery.. unhook it and pull it right out. The hardest part is the tire..
Hello - just looked and is like a wishbone bracket up against inner fender liner. I have 2007 gxp. This too needs removal if to remove battery as u mention. I see top bolt to this but not lower bolts. Once have liner out of way can see lower bolts to this steel wishbone part? Thanks for update.
Unless the '07 is different from the'10, you just remove the frame bolts and leave the panel attached. It all swings out like a door on the front bold (which you don't remove).
@@northtexasphil There is one on you tube nowadays. Just don't loosen the underneath top front one (nut), the one he has to readjust near then end. Also it keeps this alignment point intact. (pull/swing bracket from left, it pivots on that point)
STOP......!!!!!!! It’s not necessary to remove that side body panel. Remove the front right tire. Just take out the clips for the plastic inner fender liner. Fold it out of the way - it’s very pliable. Take out the bracket in front of the battery - 3 bolts and one screw. Unbolt the battery and slide it out. Reverse the process to put the new battery in. You can do this in 25-30 minutes. I am no car technician. I am a little handy. I am also 63 and old enough to know that Pontiac did not intend for that panel to be removed for a battery placement. ITS A VERY EASY TASK. DO NOT REMOVE THAT BODY PANEL. You will regret it!!!

@@michael-qp9xd I believe that you are looking at what I call the bracket. On my 2006 there are 3 small bolts and a screw that hold that triangle shaped bracket on. Trying to recall what I did last year - take the wheel/tire off. Push in the plastic inner fender liner. That leaves the bracket. Once that is removed. The battery slides out easily.
@@michael-qp9xd I can’t locate the UA-cam video that showed me how to change the Solstice battery. But you can do it. Maybe I was lucky, but I was completely finished in under 30 minutes. Remember to turn the wheels hard right before jacking it up and pulling the tire/wheel. That gives you the clearance that you need. I would suggest having the replacement battery ready to go in immediately. You can take the old one to the battery shop or auto parts store after the job to redeem your core charge. I didn’t have the new battery ready to go in when I did the task. I took it out, ran to the battery store and got the new battery. It took me longer to get the new battery than it did to change the old one out. Good luck. I am no mechanic. Rather, I am a 64 year old guy that didn’t want to spend several hundred dollars for a dealership or private auto mechanic to replace a battery.

Much easier to remove the plastic inner wheel well liner and the front fender bracket and slide battery out the front

@@jfh898 Yep, use common 1/4" long extension. (Instead of rarer 10m ratcheting spanner. And just tape door - if need be)
Thanks for sharing! Love your coupe.

Lol that is stupid
The ADS goes crazy when you remove the tire.
