It's still one of my dreams to live and work in Japan but i have no specialty and as years pass.. it is unlikely.
Anyway - i am also happy to see Japan Explorer hanging out with you or at least passing by, you know, and i wish someday he's gonna let us see him, honestly i can understand because personally i would be the same, but i think he's a very good guy and he would receive only positive comments 😊

Thanks Miley, for a fascinating look into the workings of a typical Tokyo “maid bar”. I heard of these places, and it all sounded a bit weird, so I had my misgivings when you said you were going to try out for a day there. Actually it seemed harmless fun, so I guess it’s not so bad. And how can you get lost in a big city these days, with all the mobile map apps that are available 😂?
I didn't want to use my phone to get to that bar because i've been there sevral times,I just trast my brain but i couldn't❤lol

It occurs to me that a lot of bars in Japan have women managers and owners. I knew a bunch in Akiba (b-cats most notably.)
I'm reminded browsing few these videos that one of the coolest things about tokyo nightlife is the small bars with a really close nit feel.

I have seen several videos of maid cafes. Those places were too cutesy for me. But the place you worked was a maid bar. Now that is a place I would definitely like to go.
Looking forward to see the back stage tour. I remember one korean guy where I stayed in Higashi Koganei, he worked at one ladies only bar. We asked he was dressed as a bunny.
We called him 'Bunny Boy'. He was not very pleased about it.

Yes it is not easy to adapt to another language. I did not catch it, should have. But it can be that I always think for the best.
Here in Norway we have one classic. "Vi har pissa i fryseren", it was ment to say "We have pizza in the fridge" but it says "we have urinated in the fridge".
Not only the language, but also the culture. In Japan I've put the foot in it, even I knew it is wrong. But born in another country you do it automatic.
And one norwegian stayed in Japan she said that she put on the kimono almost wrongly, and walked around as a corpse.

You talked about you where a witch in JE video.
European description of one witch is: Pointed black hat, Broom, Big black cauldron, and with a Cat.
It turns out to be one breweress. Female makeing beer.
To make the beer you need one big cauldron. Cat to prevent the ingredients to be eaten by mouse and rats.
The broom was used to symbolized the beer is ready. If I'm not mistaking. They still stick the broom into the wall some part of Norway.
If you are in a marked area, to stick out. The breweress wear big pointed hat to been seen in the crowd.
As one side note. In middle ages England. They differ between beer and ale. Beer was foreign and used hops.
Whilst ale was spiced with mix of different spices, what they used is a bit murkey since it is not written down.
In flemish they call it gruit.
