The steel pad requires a flat, hard, clean surface to adhere to as it uses double sided sticky tape. If your case has texture or is made of leather or silicone it may not stick well .
There is enough cable on the speaker you don't have to disconnect it. The plastic clips on the dash components will pull hard. Easy install.

It works very well. The standard non charging magnetic head has 4 strong rare earth magnets under the rubber cover.
