Eastridge Estate: Fly fishing for wild brown trout, River Kennet

Eastridge Estate lies on the upper River Kennet and supports a large population of wild fish. River keeper Jack Uridge explains how his passion for trout and fly fishing drives him to create an environment that benefits not just the angler, but the entire ecosystem that surrounds the river.
"Year on year river enhancement work is carried out to help improve habitat and vital spawning grounds for native brown trout. In 2014, Eastridge was awarded the Wild Trout Trust Conservation Award in recognition of our habitat improvement work."

Thanks! It’s to narrow the river and help speed up the flow to clear the gravel. Once the watercress takes hold it’s a great way to shape the river
