this album proves that james can write. It's no coincidence that the best Smashing Pumpkins songs are co-written between Billy and James.. Mayonaise and Soma
I probably haven’t listened to this in 20 years and didn’t know how much I missed it until I heard it again. Anyone ever think about that? How there’s a last time you heard a song and you didn’t know it at the time but you wouldn’t hear it again for five, ten, twenty years? I mourn the world this song was written in.
I like this better than new pumpkins. James was always my favorite member of the pumpkins. I wanna hear a song written about his dog bugg besides bugg superstar.
I'm just getting around to listening to this. I remember when this came out and I always liked Iha's tunes on the Pumpkins records. This reminds me of later Teenage Fanclub, John Lennon, and America Sister Goldenhair.
so beautiful! I would play this in a bright sunny day with flowers springing everywhere and cafe shops- or bakery shops- with its aroma circling around the common pigeons that peck at the small specs of crumbs on the paving stones.
I bought the album the day it was released in Australia. I played it non-stop for months. Probably six months. Back in the days of CD players and discmans. When discmans were over $300 and you had to hold it flat or it jumped.
Im from Oz too. My brother bought it after hearing it on Triple J. Few weeks later he owed me $20. I said give me the cd instead. I still have it 20 years later. One of my guilty pleasures this album.
awesome song, awesome record. i've always loved how james takes the time to orchestrate music that he plays on. that's why he was so important in the pumpkins and, more recently, in a perfect circle.
It's instructive to me to have recently been exposed to James Iha's music through his guitar playing sparingness and power with the Smashing Pumpkins. But Iha's tasteful playing continues to nourish his natural reticence to fully leave the pck that always brings me back to his rhinsaurus, cherub, 1979 days, which i appreciate musically as a reminder of the 3rd way.
Absolutely incredible. I already fell in love with his songwriting style on SP albums, so I rushed out to get this as soon as it was releasec - WOW, this just don't write songs like this anymore, sounds a lot like The Byrds! ;D
boberson33 Not really... Billy has his own unique singing style that you either hate or love. His voice is what makes them the Smashing Pumpkins. Billy's voice is whiny, but it shows more emotion that way. James is just as whiny, if not more. I'm really glad James only sung on about 2 songs... I'm not a huge fan of his voice.
most underrated album of all time. can move bridges with its sincerity
really! that album is amazing!
ya!
The lesson is don't work with billy corrigan.
hey fuck you the work they all did making smashing pumpkins was what we needed at the time
Loud and clear

Same here ..such a different world when this album first came out. I feel like, back then there were possibilities, beauty and optimism....
Same, hearing it just pauses you and take you to that moment it ran continuously in the soundtrack of your life. A true Gem.

To the 14 humans that disliked this song i hope you have a horrible day. Think about what you've done.
Very good album. Listening from here in Brazil.

Been listening to this album and Zwan lately... so beautiful I wish I could live the early 90s pumpkins era again.
Listen again at x1.25 speed. It sounds like early REM. It's an absolute bop

A true balm to our souls. Thx fr sharing

wow
Smashing Pumpkins 2018!
His musical taste seems to be similar to Tal Bachmann's. I'm liking it so far.
Silvery sometimes melody has this feel.
This album should have been bigger... but it does give me obnoxious indie cred....
Can't find this on spotify
He makes my loins boil.
ConstanceCox mine too💖✌️♊
i want to date the girls who are commenting this , we should be able to discuss this people ... barry greenstein quote
you kidding me , this blows
:)
Sounds kind of like Abandoned Pools
He should have been the lead singer in the Pumpkins.
Yeah... no...
Mellon Collie would be better than hearing that whiney bald fuck scream as his balls drop

Idiot!
+scarrie729 Okay, let's not go overboard here......
Esos ubiese estado bien para mellon collie de los samashing pumkings
*Billy Corgan: I could have made James' album better if he had only let me help him.
**Also Billy: Releases the Future Embrace that mostly sucks
Sounds kinda like tom petty
Decided to investigte the Smashing Pumpkins for the first time today. Got very bored. Really like this a lot though.
