- Hello and welcome to the lunchtime crew's My Hero Academia Chapter Review! This is my review of the recent happenings in the newest My Hero Academia Manga Chapter. And sweet mother of god and all that is holy, does this one come swinging with the content! I can’t even begin to express how I feel about the utter shock this chapter left me in. Oh boy It’s a big one!

I really loved seeing Hawks Protecting Tokoyami to the very end and I liked how AFO gave him respect for it(still screw him tho for messing up the bird boys…)
I just hope Mt. Lady and her group don't die, it always makes me question why did the heroes think it was a good idea to let high school students fight in a war
Mt.Lady looks like she was just about cut in half. I don't see how she survives that. And they knew it wasn't a good idea. They're desperate. So many pros have been killed or quit. They needed them.

When its EXTREMELY detailed its Berserk level shit. My favorite mangaka is Tite Kubo if my name didnt give it away, his way which is "Less is more" being a musician when writing parts. you want everything to HIT HARD, bass going crazy,guitar SLAMMED, and drums like no other.
But you quickly understand sometimes it gets lost on the listener.
So horhikosi does this well.

I love how AFO just doesn’t give a f about Gigantomachia anymore and has no hesitation killing him when there’s a possibility he could get him back on his side. But nope he just destroys him for the betrayal 😂

AFO did abandoned Gigantomachia at the end of Paranormal Liberation War and now on Final War Gigantomachia wants his revenge against AFO but somehow in the end he was brutally defeated

I swear, if I hear another person make another comment on how “Thanks to AFO, Hawks will now be free from the Hero Commission”, I’m gonna lose it! 😤 First of all, that’s like putting all the blame on Hawks’ wings, a part of himself that he was born with, for all his suffering. That’s completely wrong, so stop trying to treat it like it’s a good thing. A pro runner doesn’t need to cut off his legs to be free from running races. The real blame for his suffering lies in the people around him who force him to use his wings to commit horrible acts and do as they say. Hawks doesn’t want to quit being a hero, he wants to be a hero on his own terms.
Second, we literally went through the pain of losing these wings because of Dabi. The manga set up Hawks to be able to fly again, and brought back his wings (albeit weakened ones) because he wanted to continue being a hero. If Hawks is really going to lose his quirk to AFO permanently, then losing them because of Dabi was practically pointless, and so was the hope that they gave us that Hawks would fly again. Horikoshi said that Hawks would have a light of hope moment, and so I believe that there might still be a chance that we might finally get back his quirk in full wings because this cannot be the end for him. I believe there is more to the fact that Hawks noticed that Rewind isn’t destroying any of AFO’s quirks because Eri’s quirk is definitely capable of resetting the body to lose its quirk factor.
I’ve heard theories that Hawks still has the smallest fragment of his quirk factor because Mineta interrupted the stealing of it, and that Hawks might undergo a quirk awakening as well. Regardless, whether by Awakening or by Deku setting the vestiges inside AFO free and possibly taking them back himself, I don’t think it’ll end with Hawks being left wingless and unable to be a hero after Horikoshi kept building him up. Saying that losing his wings are the key to his freedom is just so wrong, so I really hope Horikoshi doesn’t go this route and send this message blaming Hawks’ wings for his problems, because it’s not his wings’ fault or his own.

If the fault of Hawks's suffering were his wings or his hero carreer, he could have quit after Dabi burned his wings and give up any attempt to have them back. Instead he kept fighting even if his quirk was weak, and it was his free will, no one ordered him to do it. He is truly a hero, taking away his wings for a second time would be cruel for no reason and definitely NOT A GOOD ENDING, how could he be happy again knowing he can't fly anymore?!?!
Also, after the war there will surely be big changes in hero society, and I'm positive the Commission will cease to exist. Without the Commission, Hawks will automatically be free, then no need for him to lose his wings, I agree with you saying the lost of his wings would be a very negative message since it was never their fault.
@@blackv8838 Hawks didn’t want to quit! He wanted to do his job on his own terms! WITHOUT the pressure of a corrupt commission breathing down his neck thank you! To say that losing his quirk means he can finally be free is a delusional lie because he will now be FORCED TO RETIRE! It wouldn’t be a free choice at all! It’s just another cage where that possibility is closed to him again!
@@blackv8838 Let me give you another piece of hope! If you didn’t notice, karma in BNHA hits like a TRUCK! Take a look at the end of Overhaul’s story. Overhaul is the very first villain whose story finally came to an end at the end of his arc. After everything he’s done to Eri, Mirio, Nighteye, and anyone else he’s hurt, he got the most humiliating defeat ever! Lost his quirk AND both his arms! Reduced to a lowly man who can never fix what he broke! That was the end of Overhaul. Any following appearance was just a pathetic man who can do nothing but talk.
Now take a look at certain other villains. You’d be surprised, but they all get their karma eventually. I have the strangest feeling that All For One will be no exception. Remember, a villain like Chisaki lost both his arms after what he did. Imagine what would happen to AFO who’s done MILLIONS of unforgivable acts for hundreds of years? To die with the dignity of all the quirks he stole is far too kind a death for him. He wants to be remembered as the world’s worst villain who stopped the world from turning. I’d say the only satisfying conclusion is to reduce AFO to a quirkless husk, and to have all his work be undone before his very eyes. His greatest nomus like Shirakumo restored to their former selves. His quirks being taken from him and given back to their owners. All while he dies, his mark destined to fade away into the pages of history. The world’s most pathetic human being.
Let's be honest: We all saw this coming. AFO wasn't going to be held down forever by them
Yeah. But the potential death toll will be devastating. Especially for Gigantomachia and Mt. Lady

pop off is unironically a really good quirk, especially with any type of regenerative ability or in tandem with others
Indeed, and I HOPE where they're oging with this is, AFO makes the mistake of dismissing pop off, and liek Jirou, AND his brother, he makes the mistake of underestimating the seemingly "weak" people. I really hope there is more coming with Mineta's pop offs here. AND he also gets more of a "moment" besides this.

@@heliosazuria I was honestly more scared of him taking pop off than Dark shadow. You can apply pop off to pretty much any situation plus AFO intelligence with that is a scary concept.
Worst part about AFO rewinding himself is that when he dies I won’t get to see him become a bloody mess on the sidewalk.

India, China, Southeast Asia, the Middle East, Europe, Sub-Saharan Africa, Brazil, Central America and the Caribbean, Mexico and of course the US. It'll really be interesting to see how perceptions of heroes and villains are seen in these areas after this arc.

Perhaps all these combined efforts slow AFO down soo much that by the time he makes it, he as no choice but to take over Shiggy RIGHT AWAY, just before he vanishes. THOUGH the image of an evil baby attacking them seems a little unseemly. THOUGH it could have some images in the "Quirk vestige world" of Kid Shiggy and Kid AFO fighting it out...

Get there as, for all his power and regeneration....he couldn't get Mineta's pop offs off his body, and countless debris was weighting him down. I feel somehow humiliation would be far more of a blow to him then anything....

No, I think Stain is going to fight Dabi next time. Remember, Dabi is his self-proclaimed successor, but he doesn’t even personally know the guy. Also, if you look closely at Dabi’s motivations, they are CLEARLY not the same as Stain’s. Stain killed heroes because he wanted a just society (his actions ultimately accomplished none of those goals and ended up making things worse though). Dabi just wanted to kill heroes out of a grudge for his hero father AND because he admired how Stain had such a massive influence on the world. He could care less about Stain’s want for justice. Dabi, from the very beginning, wanted fame, glory, and respect as the son of Endeavor. Since he was denied that, he’s doing it again by calling himself the successor of an infamous serial killer. Dabi lives by a bastardized version of Stain’s already twisted beliefs, so I believe that that’s why Stain will have it out for Dabi for being even worse than the false heroes he despises. Long story short, Stain’s going to hit Dabi with a hardcore reality check.

On next chapter 386 coming it should show everybody’s reactions (Endeavor and Dabi, Uraraka, Tsu, Jiro and Toga, Stain informs Shoto and Iida, Fat Gum and Aoyama, Shoji, Koda, Rock Lock and Spinner, Hound Dog, Ms Joke, Shindo, Nakagame and Skeptic and Sero, Ojiro and Sato) about AFO is heading east to Deku and Shigaraki’s battlefield and UA Team (Mirio, Best Jeanist, Gentle, Kaminari, Monoma, Mandalay, Yaomomo, Hatsume, Power Loader and Cementoss while Bakugo is still in his surgery with Edgeshot still trying to save him Bakugo will think about Deku’s in danger in his mind) will also reacts about this, Aizawa and Present Mic after Kurogiri warp them into separate area, UA evacuees reaction (the most is Inko/Deku’s mom, Eri, Kota and Ordinary Woman) and last is All Might too
All For One is heading for the press helicopter, so this could be the chance to make the announcement

I hope there's more to that pop off sticking to AFO then what seems to be a futile attempt to save a friend. Haha Imagine if after one-shotting Gigantomachia... somehow a chain of pop offs stuck together slows him down! Also, why can't Inasa use his wind COVER AFO in them. That WOULD be a delightful moment of indignity for him. ALso also, seems the Toga and Dabi fights must be happening further away....

@@lanlingwang8489 Yes I know Final War will be around 50 chapters just like Paranormal Liberation War is 54 chapters and 20 episodes and Shie Hassaikai is 41 chapters and 17 episodes but when Final War gets adapted into anime maybe it will be 20-21 episodes depending if Final War is going to go higher than 54 like up to either 55-60
Why did everyone work so hard to prevent AFO from stealing Dark Shadow? Given that that quirk does whatever it wants regardless of the whims of its user, it seems as though that would have been a positive outcome.
Especially since AFO isn't supposed to be able to handle modern quirks very well since they're so complicated and take time to utilize properly
I really hope that this weakness of his comes up especially as he seems to be acting entirely on hubris and ego because of how young he is currently
He has other quirks and power so wouldn't be a big deal for him
You have to think and dark shadow acts as an aggro beast outside of the user. If afo was to get his hands on it, he would no doubt easily master the projection and control of it. It wouldn’t take him very long seeing he already has an understanding of it. There would essentially be two afo’s on the battlefield because it acts completely on it’s own wonton everything. Afo is a tactician before his combat prowess. He doesn’t practice his quirks, he applies them fluid with battle iq. So horikoshi even writing it so they show dark shadow has to be protected, is this in itself to say so.
Dark shadow is also not entirely free of its own will as we’ve seen it wax and wane with the rage that it receives through crow. It stems from passive control to loose cannon action. So it is controlled to a certain extent, just not when it reaches rage form. But the difference is afo wouldn’t control it. He’d let it be free to slaughter. So There would be no downside where as crow can’t utilize it fully due to the danger it presents.
So really either way, afo just even manifesting it would be a massive issue. It would be his literal shadow bodyguard like xehanort’s heartless aside of picking off the multi targets lol. So He wouldn’t even need to do anything else. It would be it’s own problem after that.
And also if dark shadow’s power stems from the user’s fortitude, that would mean his dark shadow would be godly. It’d be like multiple madara’s and how they ran through everyone.

@@pickedceasar1216 My guess, or rather HOPE, is that there was more to that pop off on his leg then meets the eye. Like with Jirou, AFO could get careless again over a seemingly weak Quirk, which has so huge impediment to him.
Haha imagine if when he finally makes it to SHiggy and Deku, he's carrying an entire forest/city of debris weighing him down as, for all his power, he just couldn't' get the pop offs off his body...
Perv thing aside, what I think Mineta's most important role in the series is, is that his Quirk is meant to see like a joke until it suprises you.

There is technically a way that's not bullshit and is actually quite fitting.
Its actually simple. He just defeats himself, even if the heroes are nothing but a swarm of insects to him, all they need to do is swarm AFO long enough that he disappears. It s a great way for the story to defeat a massively overpowered villain without coming up with some wonder power up for the heroes.
@Confused Bakugo that or his own hubris. He assumes he can just simply control Shigi when he gets there but I don't think it's that simple.
@krrish9548 that's the issue there is no way with how the story is going they win without plot armor BS out there ass to win vs natural power progression and skill which imo the story lost after deky got multiple quirks and no time shown training with them outside of float and black wip the others he learned and had decent control over right off the bat but now the villian it GODLEY OP which I hate because it doesn't even look believable when they win

So AFO literally is strong enough to oneshot gigantomachia and plenty other top ranking heroes. Litreally gigantomachia is one person who alone saved paranormal liberation army...

I honestly thought Mineta was going to say that dark shadow is it’s own being, meaning it would attack all for one
Firstly if they do not treat Gigantomachia then I do NOT have hope for the future their fighting for , its bleak considering someone like Momo having NOT be reprimand for what she did, a society where someone like Shikaraki does not have to exists again? No her actions against gigant in the first war crushed all hope for that ..
Look im not a downier and I do want the heroes to win, but you have to see between the lines - Specifically, the lines from the previous chapter and this about rewind , that is attacking him to make him rewind to oblivion- See the thing is that most people will NOT realized is by Hawks presumption they actually GOT the outcome they were looking for- Giving AFO rewound body so much trauma that it will rewind faster AFO himself said so-See from the VERY beginning that was their soul plan If you look back you will see that im right-They FORCE AFO to use his rewind ability quicker than he initially wanted too And then it was only a matter of causing him so much physical pain that the rewinding of his body would work against him
That was their initial plan from the beginning-Notice that they had no issues dealing blows that would be considered FATAL? Thats cuz they already concluded that AFO will not die and judging again by what Hawks said they also concluded that these extreme attack are the ones that would eventually help in making AFO's plan of rewinding himself backfire...Again im not basing these on just assumptions , the previous ch they stated to keep him pinned down with massive attacks until he vanishes- meaning to put soo much physical trauma on his body to FORCE his body to rewind much faster into oblivian.I still firmly believe they knew this from the Doctor which again AFO SHOULD have dealt with BEFORE the heroes got a hold of him. however we see that one thing that hawks did not account for is that AFO even while rewinding DOES not lose all his quirks but he still figured that AFo would somehow be able to counter the heroes so again based by what he said already have additional reinforcement. So no, it may looked that he finally had one over the heroes but in reality AFO have more things against him than the heroes, even his own quirk.

Expecting Shige will kill All Might as he fights Midoriya. AFO will get to them and attack Shige, Midoriya saves him despite having just watched him kill his mentor, reaches out a hand to help him up, and that's when the tide shifts with Shige realizing what it means to be a true hero. Shige's decay counters AFO's rewind as the two work together to take him down.

I think I figured out why All For One's quirk isn't losing any of the newest quirks he's collected, even though his body is rewinding. All For One still doesn't have his original quirk, its in Tomura and its synced with AFO's duplicate, granting him access to the stockpiles of quirks within both almost like Cloud storage. We can see this AFO quirk syncing between him and Tomura as far back as when he stole the Search quirk, and somehow Tomura ended up having it. AFO didn't steal the Search quirk with the original, it would have taken too long to extract the original from himself between stealing the Search quirk and getting beaten and captured by Almight. The doctor who works for AFO stated it takes months to cultivate a quirk and implant it on another host without the AFO quirk doing the work. This concludes AFO was using a duplicate without a doubt, and it also proves that AFO and Tomura are syncing with eachother, otherwise Tomura wouldn't have Search at all
Based on all of this, its safe to assume AFO can still use his full stockpile of quirks, old and new because his duplicate is synced with the original. I think this was the plan from the start. AFO knew capacity was always a problem because of the body's limitations. His answer, multiple bodies accessing the same stockpiles of quirks. Aaaand I think I know why he wants One For All now, its so he can use his younger brother's quirk transference to transplant duplicates of his own quirk on every man, woman, and child on the planet so they all become like Tomura, imprisoned in their own minds, their bodies under his control, and their quirks syncronized with his All For One quirk so every one of the millions of victims' quirks can be used by any one else also under his control. (example being if he used One For All combined with his own quirk and a doubler on a random person, took them over, that person would be able to use Tomura's Decay and All For One's Rivet Stab without actually having either quirk factor. If im right, then that really would make All For One the ultimate demon lord so evil that 'evil' doesn't even do it justice.

His control and maturity are already compromised. He's one reversion away from declining in power again. Probably 3 away from no longer existing too. For someone that can regenerate to the point of near immortality, ceasing to exist might be the only way to really deal with him anymore.
