0:26 such a graceful move by the guy in red shorts. I've seen this video probably hundreds of times and I'm just now noticing this guy making the most deliberate, yet unnoticeable move to get into a window. Class act right there.
I'll tell you what. I honestly couldn't believe how amazing this was in KC. It was literally like having 6 minutes of my life replaced with absolute bliss. Bring on the recording of it I say!
4:40-5:29 I'd be lying if I said that this section hadn't brought me to tears a few times. That's what singing great music is all about. Thanks Jay, thanks Justin!!
A moment I keep rewinding.. 6:03, Jonny resolves the leading tone. You can clearly hear the distinct character in his voice apart from the chorus, yet when he resolves, somehow his harmonic fits perfectly into the harmonics created by the bases. Just.. Perfect.
You should have heard them do it at the BHS International Convention in KC two weeks ago...! (Awesome, Justin. Incredible, Jay. Proud to know you both.)
Dang! I feel like if people saw these guys on the street and they said they were a choir no one would believe how talented they are. Sometimes even when choirs are dressed in formal clothing they don't sound as on point as these guys. I was definitely caught off guard lol very impressive!
does anyone have an SATB version of this? I would love to perform this with my Youth Choir i think they will find this music so inspiring?! LOVE LOVE LOVE IT !
sang this before, never reached this level... :/ the only thing i don't like (though it's perfectly fine and normal) is that most of the song is one key lower LOL. but this rly caught my heart,
+EmbraceTheInevitable I'm sorry I missed it. I was too busy sittng in my recliner, shaking my head, and thinking: "Damn. These guys are just too damn incredible."
jthames - great, so movement is ok, just not hands. I guess it's now just down to individual preference of what is acceptable and not distracting. Personally, I love to see individuals in choirs. Choirs are about the sum being greater than the individual parts, however if those parts can also somehow remain individuals linked through the music, visually and vocally, job well done.
I don't think the body has to lift the hand like they're presenting something to sound beautiful. And no, why would I be talking about something as ridiculous as being a mannequin? Don't get me wrong, I move a reasonable amount when I sing. Just not that much.
Sorry (for you) that you feel that way. Sure, standing bolt upright, rigid and inflexible, straight faced and serious, lacking any indication of life and soul or any sincere connection to the music is of course another way. Agreed too much is too much, but this is for me mostly natural and gentle, it reflects the mood of the piece, for you maybe not. I for one cannot stand manekins performing music, it is actually unnatural to do so, the body is an instrument and has to move when it is played!
I bet 100 dollars that not one person is off pitch at 5:11. Sooooooo perfect. This is the reason I love music.

Wonderful music.

The chord at 5:12 - the very minute, but precise and uniform movement on the downbeat of that chord is awesome. I live for moments like that

OCTenor2 the overtones that rings through from his resolution completely overpowers his note! Outstanding.
I SUPER AGREE. That part of the song is SO moving.
One of the most beautiful pieces, ever.
The music is beautiful, but almost more so the incredible effort made as a group to produce it.
That harmonic on the 9th at 4:00 is solid! Yall, this is beautiful
Matt Parks I don't hear a 9th. I hear an octave overtone....
Terrific ensemble with wonderfully high artistic standards. Thank you Westminster Chorus!

Both this song and "Bridge over Troubled Water" actually left me speechless! I can't wait for recordings of them.
I am just completely blown away by this... Great job fellas!
INCREIBLE!!!!!
Aplausos desde ARGENTINA!
awesome cut offs and blend!
It's amazing!
I was so moved and thisis my favorite chorus.
2:32 gets me every time. Love those chords.
amazing. as always. keep up the excellent work. Love those bass voices !!!!!

Wow!
5:12 holy shit. thats the cleanest chord ive ever heard, and i've heard a lot.
Have you heard a lot, Kyle?
does anyone have an SATB version of this? I would love to perform this with my Youth Choir i think they will find this music so inspiring?! LOVE LOVE LOVE IT !
The overtones at 2:30-2:50 are epic. Angels wanting to get in on the action.
3:59
On that shining nine (overtone) =)
I'm dumbstruck, honestly
I wish California was a 10 minute walk from Northampton...
@Bryendwolf1990 Awesome! Maybe I'll see ya next Tuesday :)
i cannot find the tenor 2 taking a breath from 5:28 till 5:48, and still its all so connected even then, breath control out the wazoo
WOWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW
I think Jay Giallombardo has one!
Who is the guy that has the pick up at 2:43?...solid ...and the overtones from 2:20 -2:40 are unbelievable...
The overtones from 5.15-finish... THAT'S LOUD.
@Bryendwolf1990 come back dude!
3:40. Am I crazy, or is someone actually singing that 1 in the basement?
sang this before, never reached this level... :/ the only thing i don't like (though it's perfectly fine and normal) is that most of the song is one key lower LOL. but this rly caught my heart,
Do u know where i ca buy it or download it or something?
I love when that guy sitting down shakes his head. He's just like "Geez these guys are too damn incredible"
EmbraceTheInevitable I noticed that, as well. It's a great reaction.
+EmbraceTheInevitable I'm sorry I missed it. I was too busy sittng in my recliner, shaking my head, and thinking: "Damn. These guys are just too damn incredible."
+rogerdotlee Hahahahaha exactly!!
Any Paranormal Activity fans out there? Micah Sloan is the guy second in from the left. right at 0:50 boom. I met him, turns out he's a baritone!
@applesauc3 The reality is just as fulfilling as the fantasy. ;)
I much prefer the natural body motions in these performances to the coreographed stuff.
4:55-5:10 I can't even....
1:21-1:31. Chordgasam.
I've come to the conclusion that Jonny is really just an overtone incarnate.
WOW!WOW!WOW! Other than that, it's okay....LOL

It sounds good but the movement is such a distraction and a "turn off" of the music.
