(Edit) I forgot that crows were accidentally dragged in the constant with Wes, as his character rework animation shows. My bad. _But isn't Wes supposed to be French?.._
Nice idea, I never thought ranking characters like that. So I have a discrepancy about Webber, I think what makes the character personality good is making him unique, whitout losing who they are, for example boring characters like wurt or wormwood don't really stick because they don't feel unique, they don't do nothing besides his naive self, but others like wheeler, are just to obsessed in being unique, in thinking about guns and fly that doesn't give anything of meaning, is an adventurer but she doesn't feel like a person, she's like a cartoon of an adventurer. I definitely feel like you've been a bit harsh on Walter and Wanda. Especially Walter because in the video you made about him you said his lack of fear to the point of insanity was one of your favourite aspects about a characters personality that we've had up to now and I agreed. Over-the-top optimism can be just as or if not more off putting than negativity in the right circumstances. Also him getting into the constant and one of the first thing he does is try to tame Deerclops is honestly genius Don't Starve humour. As for Wanda, I love her impatience and how since she's technically extremely old she will find almost anything to complain about, like a cranky ass granny, especially things that take a long time like cooking. She also has some insightful things to say about the world like Maxwell does, given her knowledge on shadow magic. It's very entertaining to see the few times she finds enjoyment in things too.
I like how Wanda is so impatient and always in a hurry, I think this is just like she was in real world (because of the shadows stalking her and everything)
I feel like you don't play all the characters equally as often and therefore this tierlist is bias. I've head you express your thoughts about Wurt and Wormwood in a video before, and I disagreed back then too, because you said being stupid is that all that their personality is. But you kinda have to consider what those characters are: Wormwood is a plant. His "brain" works in a different way, for example when examining most things he doesn't understand, he usually describes their appearance and when he does understand them, he expresses emotions like happiness, excitement or fear. This means he doesn't have a lot of witty banter or jokes, his view on the constant is purely analytical, but that is a character defining trait that makes him a great character to compare with WX-78. WX-78 is the pure opposite of Wormwood in this since when he describes tools, creatures, weapons etc., he expresses so analytically yet with the added flavor of malicious intent. He seems happy to wield deadlier weapons, he forms opinions about creatures in the constant, including player characters. And it's not like people ever really compare those two, though they both have that analytical view on things in the constant because people usually just have a glance at Wormwood and think what you think: He's just stupid. And I don't actually try to say that he is not, I just like that he is a very simple observer that views the world like a machine would. Wormwood feels more like a machine than WX-78 does and that's funny to me. Also they both have the "different text" thing going on. Wurt is a member of a species that, up until her update, were purely territorial creatures with very little lore. Nobody looked at a merm and thought anything other than: Automatic Fishsticks farm, gotta swap to Winona and make that someday. But ever since Wurt became a part of the constant, merms became.... nah I'm not gonna try to fool anyone, Wurt is not very popular so things didn't change much besides fish becoming easier to farm. But her character is still interesting. She is curious and different from the other merms. She seeks knowledge and improvement for herself and her species. She's caring and holds grudges against her enemies. Also, about the flort thing, it's pretty much the same thing Woodie has with "eh?" yet that wasn't mention, though its equally as frequent. I find Wurts quotes interesting because of the context of her being a merm, like the fact she doesn't recognize goats as anything significant, likely because Wurt always lived among mermfolk and not among the goat people from Gorge. Like her being happy about boat leaks, like her hatred for anything pig-related. Anyways, I'd still put Wurt at a D and move Wormwood up to B. I don't think it's really fair for Wes not to be in D though. Wes has nothing. He shows kindness in the trailer, sure, but how does that translate to gameplay unless you, the player go out of the way of your goals and act nice? At that point it's like roleplay territory where really anyone could be an amazing character if you gave them the time, even the monkey.
I feel like when we do learn more about wagstaff he'll be even better than he is now I hope they keep his goal a moral grey like something you can understand him wanting to do maybe to help others but it is also considerably dangerous from what we know he seems to want to use the constant as a technological/magical jumping point for humanity always bringing up the idea of taking the various artifacts and dark fuel from the constant to the human world
Could Wagstaff be, in fact, Wilson, but older ? Ei Wilson spent ages in the constant until he finds scientific and magical ways to escape. Then had a life outside the constant until he realized he was the source of it all and came back to it to save his still trapped friends and himself from it, unfortunately fulfilling the whole loop in time that is the story of Don't Starve... Make sense? no? idk
@@FreddoFilms Noses and ears are the things that never stop growing when we age, but that triple potato nose type Wagstaff has does seem like a long (and wide) stretch I must say lol. I'd be interested in a better debunking of that possibility though. Just to be sure ya kno ;P
i know this is unrelated but the fact walter came to the constant was becouse of woody kind of makes you wonder who and how he got cursed and how long he has had it it seems he has had it for a good amount of time sense he knows how to craft the totems
Wagstaff's lines have a pretty stark dichotomy. Most of them are very good, serving a lore, or building his character. I think he does the Walter personality better, with him being more interested in the science of things rather than how dangerous they are. The lines for ANY uncooked food, however, is some form of, "I will take damage if I eat this" Berries, seeds, corn, meat, blue caps, fish, etc. This aspect can be a bit grating, but is usually so because it's juxtaposed to the rest of his lines, which are generally pretty good.
I was a bit upset to hear you say that dst was getting more lighthearted when it really isn't. I mean, part of the constant lore is an entire civilization TAKING THEIR SKIN OFF AND BECOMING NIGHTMARE CREATURES Sorry if this is coming across as rude I'm just...a little peeved that you said that.
Overall informative, so I can appreciate that. Seems like you might have been a it off-topic with Wickerbotrom, Winona, and a few others. Wickerbotrom provides useful information about the world that can help inform new players, and your inability to understand scientific names is not a fault with the character. Winona disliking handmade items in favor of factory made items IS a once common belief as factories represented a change in manufacturing quality and consistency and scale, which lead to engineers being able to reliably build structures on a previously impossible scale.
just because I don't know what the scientific names mean doesn't mean that Wickerbottom is secretly some super fascinating character. no one genuinely uses scientific names to refer to stuff unless they're fairly stuck up. (see: jimmy neutron 'it's sodium chloride')
@@FreddoFilms Yes and no.. I’m aware of the Jimmy Neutron example where table salt includes more than the individual chemical he listed, but there are some people like myself who really appreciated her level of seemingly overly detailed/scientific language. I’m able to understand a lot of what she says due to decades of scientific work, and find her descriptions more insightful than what many others characters say. You’re not wrong though, that type of language can certainly rub some people the wrong way, but I enjoyed it. 🤷♂️
@@grumpity977 Subjective, and yeah, I know. Admittedly I missed the part about it being based on his own enjoyment vs general enjoyment. Still, from my perspective his criticism about those specific issues seemed overly critical from my perspective. No big deal,

Hey, Wurt says more than just "Florp". She says "Florp", "Florpt", "Florph", "Flurp", "Flurpt", "Flurph", "Glorp", "Glort", "Glorpt", "Glorph", "Glurp", "Glurt", "Glurph" and "Glurgh".
Always really loved wortox's ways of excusing himself out of stealing souls, as well as him having unlimited power and a lot of knowledge of the constant. Makes for a great well rounded character and as a bonus I love rhyming
I do agree Wanda lines can get a little repetitive, though for me its pretty fun. I like how I spent 30 minutes getting grass and when she examining cut grass she goes "Its about as interesting as cut grass as you would imagine it to be'. Though the exposition it probably cuz Klei wanted to go for a character that knows whats gonna happen, but shes went through this in so many timelines she forgot what happens. While not as good as characters like Wilson, but imo its still has its charm and fun to listen to :), Also relly nice editing
I like most of her food related quotes. Examining an empty crock pot "I guess I'll just find some seeds to eat", she's actually playing the game like a new player not caring about any recipes and just finding the quickest, easiest source of food to eat.
I will say that I think that while it’s cool to just not like Walters personality I will say that him being jovial (while it sticks out like a sore thumb) makes sense and his consistent with his character. He lacks a complete sense of fear/the ability to assess danger but at the same time loves exploring. Put someone like that into the Constant and I feel like they’d see it as just another fun adventure. That’s just my take on it anyways I agree with pretty much everything else-only comments I have being that Wolfgang could be from the Soviet Union (given that the game takes place around the 1920s,his favorite food is roasted potatoes, and his inspection note about the hammer stated it needs a sickle) Webber has much dialogue that is consistent to his backstory. I just appreciate that. Wurt is my second most played as character and I hate that I have to admit you’re right Worrox in his lore heavy lines has a line that’s literally just "That's all she wrote." Which 10/10 character writing right here. I forgot what my point was, comment end.
Yeah Walter sticks out way too much and thats what makes me like his personality. He just doesnpt fit in with the grim world; hes a boy scout with a monster dog, treading through the uncompromising wilderness of the constant without any care or fear. Until things get real that is, and by real I mean real painful.
@@rovyy8008 Completely agree! I don’t really think everyone in the game has to be dark and foreboding. Hell having a character that sticks out so much is a pretty cool way to make HIM seem like the odd one.
I personally find Wickerbottom's scientific name-dumpstering interesting because I used to study Veterinary Medicine lol so I find it funny when she makes up names for the weird creatures of the Constant. I like her more than Wagstaff cause the scientist man always going "Theoretically..." is for me, him literally going "Ackshually..." and it's kinda annoying. I like his quotes for blurry stuff, though. I used to find Willow funny cause FIRE! BURN ALL! but most of her other quotes are just her being an annoying, picky brat.
I don't mind Wickerbottom's "um actually" personality tbh, I find some of the facts she says quite interesting. Loved the video btw, I 100% agree with Maxwell being at the very top of the list cause he's just such a great villian with great lore.
As a wortox main, I think the worst part of his quotes is that all of the food examinations are basically the same. The only one I can remember off the top of my head is ice

I liked the video though, good job with the editing and stuff!
I feel like when we do learn more about wagstaff he'll be even better than he is now I hope they keep his goal a moral grey like something you can understand him wanting to do maybe to help others but it is also considerably dangerous from what we know he seems to want to use the constant as a technological/magical jumping point for humanity always bringing up the idea of taking the various artifacts and dark fuel from the constant to the human world
Wisp best dumptruck.
Zero competition and I eagerly await prime wisp
see, exactly why it's a pointless tierlist
As a wilbur main i Can speak monkey and wilbur has a very cool personality
Could Wagstaff be, in fact, Wilson, but older ?
Ei Wilson spent ages in the constant until he finds scientific and magical ways to escape. Then had a life outside the constant until he realized he was the source of it all and came back to it to save his still trapped friends and himself from it, unfortunately fulfilling the whole loop in time that is the story of Don't Starve...
Make sense? no? idk
definitely a fun theory but it seems unlikely unless wilson went to college and got a nose job
@@FreddoFilms Noses and ears are the things that never stop growing when we age, but that triple potato nose type Wagstaff has does seem like a long (and wide) stretch I must say lol.
I'd be interested in a better debunking of that possibility though. Just to be sure ya kno ;P
But....but......have you seen wurt read wicker bottoms books? Or talk to garden plants?
Adorable xD
i know this is unrelated but the fact walter came to the constant was becouse of woody kind of makes you wonder who and how he got cursed and how long he has had it it seems he has had it for a good amount of time sense he knows how to craft the totems
Wes is S++ tier because he sounds the best! Also so is Wanda's voice
Wagstaff's lines have a pretty stark dichotomy. Most of them are very good, serving a lore, or building his character. I think he does the Walter personality better, with him being more interested in the science of things rather than how dangerous they are.
The lines for ANY uncooked food, however, is some form of, "I will take damage if I eat this"
Berries, seeds, corn, meat, blue caps, fish, etc. This aspect can be a bit grating, but is usually so because it's juxtaposed to the rest of his lines, which are generally pretty good.
I was a bit upset to hear you say that dst was getting more lighthearted when it really isn't. I mean, part of the constant lore is an entire civilization TAKING THEIR SKIN OFF AND BECOMING NIGHTMARE CREATURES
Sorry if this is coming across as rude I'm just...a little peeved that you said that.
Great vid, florp!
see here's the thing about wormwood one should consider:
he's a sweet cute lil baby boy. this is also why i like webber lol
S - That one guy with the beard I think?
@@FurryEskimo he DID mention that this was all objective at the start of the video tho, but i see your point
@@grumpity977 Subjective, and yeah, I know. Admittedly I missed the part about it being based on his own enjoyment vs general enjoyment. Still, from my perspective his criticism about those specific issues seemed overly critical from my perspective. No big deal,
@@FurryEskimo thanks for correcting my mistake without tackling me over it lol
Suprised Winona isn't in D tier for how much you disliked her opinion.
It's not a big enough part of her personality to really justify that
you can call me a feddo fan now that he has posted this epic unbiased tierlist
"Wolfgang is glad he cannot read!"
Wendy personality feels so miserably forced that it's literally the only reason I don't play her. How anybody claims to like her personality I can't understand. Viva la WX!
love the content ♥
everyone in f tear
Wilbur has been misplaced. ITS MONKE, and he can run at a faster pace when running for 3 seconds. Although, his position as monkey king only stays within shipwrecked, he still is a decent character. Another plus is that he can build the monkey huts in other DLC worlds. His stats are average, and the fact that he can't warn you when bosses are coming only harms you if you don't know when the bosses show up besides , his speed allows you to fight the bosses easier. He isn't the best character, but he isn't a bad character.
1:02 had me dying
Is this a character tierlist or a personality tierlist?
Wait, where's Warbucks?

How in the fuck did Wilbur get lower then the most useless character/wes
Don't you talk about my wes like that
Wurt's like 8 years old, what type of lore drops is she supposed to say? She dont even know how to read 😭
they chose to make her that way though... they could have made her more interesting but chose not to
@@FreddoFilms True, i was hoping for a Gnaw shrine in Wurt's skill tree that introduced merm variants (Since Gnaw connections makes merms smarter) but what can ya do ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
She's still my favorite amongst the DST cast but i agree some lore would've made her better.

Love ypur videos, man❤
Why am I not in S?!😭😭😭
Hey, Wurt says more than just "Florp". She says "Florp", "Florpt", "Florph", "Flurp", "Flurpt", "Flurph", "Glorp", "Glort", "Glorpt", "Glorph", "Glurp", "Glurt", "Glurph" and "Glurgh".
So they just add an h or t?
😢so emotional…
as a wurt main i feel offended
Monke
Always really loved wortox's ways of excusing himself out of stealing souls, as well as him having unlimited power and a lot of knowledge of the constant. Makes for a great well rounded character and as a bonus I love rhyming
He’s my favorite. He’s comedic, knowledgeable, tragic, philosophical and simply entertaining
As both a librarian in training and and former Wickerbottom main, never have i been so offended by something so true
10/10
That’s just my take on it anyways
I agree with pretty much everything else-only comments I have being that
Wolfgang could be from the Soviet Union (given that the game takes place around the 1920s,his favorite food is roasted potatoes, and his inspection note about the hammer stated it needs a sickle)
Webber has much dialogue that is consistent to his backstory. I just appreciate that.
Wurt is my second most played as character and I hate that I have to admit you’re right
Worrox in his lore heavy lines has a line that’s literally just "That's all she wrote."
Which 10/10 character writing right here.
BURN ALL! but most of her other quotes are just her being an annoying, picky brat.
i love wendy’s line for examining glommer: “Well aren’t you a happy little fuzzball. Die.”
RIP Wurt, the cutest constat native(?). She has my favorite quotes, I adore her bright sense of fascination and confused aversion to meat
True. "Mortals like this" can get a bit boring.
