My Truck Camper Roof Lift's 2 FEET with the Touch of a Button - Scissor Lift with Actuators

- There is no doubt that a pop up truck camper is the way to go for ultimate off road driveability, but the ease of use of the roof lift system's vary greatly throughout different manufacturer's. Bison is always pushing the limit, and this new scissor lift is nothing short of amazing! What do you think?

definitely a cool novelty, but that just adds so many failure points and takes so much longer to
set up than just pushing it up, but still very neat!
That's great to see but, when are you going to build the inside of it 🤔? I still think it's small but, that's my opinion for what it's worth. I'm glad you like it.
Still one of the coolest builds out there 🇺🇸
Can't wait till all the goodies are installed inside
Yup for sure ! press the button & walk away , Nice !
The Bison camper knocks it outah the park!
Get that interior done and get to mobbin lol. Love they build Phil.
Thank you Phil
Cool build ! Can’t wait till the next step.
Looking good! It was nice meeting you two at the burger joint in Prescott.
Very nice!! An electric top for the Rubicondo! Enjoy bro!
Hahaha, Rubicondo. I like that one.
Nice man this thing is going to be solid!
That’s cool I saw a dude like this same build but his roof was a not cloth it was the same material as the van itself
Awesome video Phil!
Dang, wish I had your rig for my kid's motocross race weekends. We're camping each weekend in a tent but I grabbed the Geyser System because of your review. Enjoy your rig and maybe you can bring your dirt bike with the Switch Hauler. I got one for my SUV and it is super solid (and won't fall off 🤣).
Greetings from the Middle East
Philly my boy, how do you lift the top if the actuators fail? Can you put a drill to the scissor hinges to manually raise it?
I tried using actuators for my 75L dometic fridge and freezer but I the speed to open and close was way too slow. I also purchased a speed controller to increase the power to no avail. This was using cheap actuators from Amazon. I imagine there’s a faster actuator out there in the $200-$350 range.
A guy in Texas makes a kayak motor using 1 and it will raise and lower motor in and out. Plus he can trim it out so the front of kayak stays level lol
I’m so glad you got your rig finished. 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
Phil, have you looked into a off-road wheelie bar ? don’t gas it on a steep grade 😵💫
It kinda looks like the trash haulers in town that collects the trash and chases a big truck to dump in
I’m not a fan but I’m glad you love it
Any idea where I could source out a set of those scissor lifters ? Living here in the U.S.A (California), I see some offered from Australia but not so much here in the states. Did Bison manufacture those themselves in house?
Bro you gotttttttaaaaaaa paint them front fenders to match the rear lol
That just seems ass heavy when going over anything remotely side to side. What is the current weight of the rig, and expected weight?
Phil, I’m still waiting to see how you, Julie and two dogs are going to have enough room to cook, eat, shower, move around and sleep when the weather isn’t warm and sunny, but instead is windy, rainy, cold and snowy 😬😬😬
He can go south and don’t have to stay put
@@randywilson6869 He could, but he never has before. He spends a lot of time in the mountains with occasional wind and snow. He just camped overnight with Julie and both the Camper and Gladiator were literally jam-packed, so I just can’t imagine it being less crowded when he is full timing😬
Phil is that your brother you guys look like twins lol
Very cool rig! thanks for sharing. Any issues with being back heavy?
Hello. Have a safe blessed day! 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
Kinda wish you would've given us a peeky poo of homies Seqouia,My 4.7 brother from another mother
Getting close to the finish line.
Congratulations. Though that's a little too slow for me. And does your chassis flex that much? Or are you planning to fit something in the gap between the cab and the camper? 'Coz that gap is huge. For me it makes it look like the camper is only a temporary setup, rather than a custom made for your rig. But it's your rig, so as long as you're happy with it, that's the important thing. 👍
Yeah, when it comes to offroad camper builts, that gap is vast. Surely he's got something planned for it to have a big gap like that. Maybe additional water tanks etc?
This must get about 8 mpg.
I wonder if u can make a wind deflector on your roof of the jeep
lifting needs to inflate support system & releasing air value drops or deflates lift system, only need power raising it, not dropping it big real if stuck open.
What is the brand of lift mechanism?
Dudes make it stand on 4 stilts so you can rock crawl leave the topper free standing
I've owned three Jeeps (last one a Rubicon) and enjoy this series but I have to say this camper doesn't make sense. Stretch the frame of a two door and have a bigger camper .
hving air lifting & power lifting as well only way to be Godly redundant sure.
Loved the old Phil, old rig , new rig, and builders. Not your new sidekick, not down to mob anymore. Sorry.
Is the fan bi-directional, to force air in when lifting?
❤
omg its roman reigns
I always like to comment positively but OMG that's slow. 💤💤💤 😴💤 If electrically that's the speed, honestly I"d rather lift it and lower it manually. I'm sure once the novelty of having an electrical lifting and closing roof has passed, you'll wish it was faster.
On the one hand i agree, but in reality i dont think that speed will ever be an issue. By the time you get ready to get in its up and by the time youre ready to leave its down. I dont see this speed ever being an issue.
You should have stayed inside it would have been cool to see it go down from the inside
ridiculously slow
It is, but i honestly dont see it ever really becoming a problem. Just hit the button a little before youre ready to actually need it up or down and its never gonna be an issue.
I used to watch this channel till he got an annoying gf, and the channel became kind of weird.
@Tyrone,
I get jealous, too [buries sobbing face in pillow].
Agreed
Be honest. How many beers?
What an incredible waste of money. Sell the jeep. Buy an old 7.3 diesel and get you a 10' TC. Life will be much better. Not like this jeep is honestly going anywhere a 25 year old diesel won't go anyways....
