Titans couldn't channel their electricity into blades so they threw a temper tantrum and the smash was created. Titans couldn't make the golden gun shoot so they threw it in anger and the hammer was born.
This video seemed to illustrate how we are more like the hive than we thought. Oryx and his sister had to feed their worms different things based on their personalities. An explorer, a cunning trickster, and a warrior. Similar to our hunters who instinctively explore the wilds, the titans who can easily be seen as warriors, and the warlocks which use their cunning minds.
may I just say, your voice makes your channel/series it's so calm and fluent, while I'm over here 16 sounding like I've got razors in my voice with a chipmunk filter

I have always thought the ahamkara were the ones to teach the risen on how to use their light...teach them how to make a Nova bomb or like how to condesnse it to a fist...I remember that quote...power was gained through those bargains
Listening to the description of Titans I realized how every player in Destiny acts as a Titan, that is defending the City and shooting stuff. Would be really interesting to see Hunter gameplay (like stalking the wild) and Warlock gameplay (perhaps a Library in the Tower) in Destiny 2.
you could argue that the beginning of the Dreadnaught missions, when we go in and plant beacons is infact a very Hunter-esk thing to do. The Warlock aspect is sort of missing as a in game thing, but what we are doing here, talking, discussing, learning is the Warlock spirit :)
I would like to learn hive magic from Eris or Toland. Roaming around as a wizard spacing arc blast would be pretty sweet. A grenade that spreads the green slow goo and make them take extra damage while you get a armor and speed buff in it also sounds great.
technique I can't believe you guys fricking guessed, GUESSED, that the tower might fall. I also now want to see a flying blink knee move for warlocks, because EPICNESS! XD
Good vid, Matt; I like these little Lore-casts! I'd have to look around to find it, but there is somewhere stating that there are other ways to utilize the powers of Solar, Arc and Void. I pointed it out in my Void video, but Hunters are pretty-well disgusted by Void abilities, so their NATURE is generally towards that of Life, being Arc and Sol. Titans are a duality, as are Warlocks, but this duality is generally a different resemblance. Who's to say a Titan couldn't use the Fires within to reborn themselves, for instance, or the same of a Hunter, whom has more links to the ideas of life? The Third subclasses throw a wrench into the idea, but look at the classes BEFORE we get the three of them. That's what has always interested me.
I just want to thank you Myelin Games for all the hard work you have done on this channel. All the lore videos that you have made, has helped me learn more about Destiny and it has also helped immensely with a fan-fiction story that I have been writing also. Thank you very much and I can't wait to see more of your lore videos.
+Hopeson Makokha Well once I have got it all completed, I will probably publish it on this website: www.fanfiction.net/game/Destiny/. It may take some time to work on however, but if I can get more people to support it, I will have more justification for allotting more time on working on it. Once I get it done, I could let you know on here if that works.
Man I cannot wait to meet that titan in the Sunbreakers group or Toland or anyone else who can really open up these ideas of a new classes. So much room to grow this game and its lore, thank again for another great lore slice. Technique
What i would like in Destiny is a system for subclass upgrades: Titans have to use abilities lots, Hunters have to get patrol kills and warlocks have to collect ghost fragments or complete patrol bounties.
I just remember from preordering destiny day one, and that little handbook we got with it that had a description of each type of weapons and exotics we could find, yay for hunter handbooks haha
i like it how they go into some depth with titans and hunters and then when they get to warlocks they say "warlocks are these scholars that seek knowledge" and thats fucking it
Captain Kex and Myelin complement each other really well in this vid. good chemistry, two passionate fans with great knowledge of lore working together to discuss and decipher the broken lore of Destiny together. good stuff, hope to see more in the future.
I find it interesting how you guys worded the reasoning why the classes have specific methods of using their Light. Almost implying that a Hunter could, say, throw the Titan's fire hammer if that was their personal preference. All techniques are universal, but they prefer certain ones
I do wonder how you would complete this video now with the lore as it stands in 2020 compared to 2017 (especially with the dredgens and the new stasis ability to be released in New Light in November)
At 11:36 when talking about Rezyl Azzir and how his collar was fur and teeth... it gave me the assumption that it could possibly be lord shax because he's the only character that I know who actually has fur and a necklace with teeth on it around his neck... So that just something that sparked in my mind
I am a Hunter through-and-through. Not just because I like the class, but because my personality matches with it. I am always a lone wolf and would rather do something on my own than work with others. I also have a tendency to manipulate people into doing what I want, both IRL and in-game. I don't like raiding much because of this but whenever I do go LFG I make sure to put an emphasis on the "loot."
You've done a very well job discussing, especially, the origin behind the classes. A better way to summarize each class would be: Titans channel the light like a boxer or a strongman channels his weight into his punches or form. Its something that augments your physical being and releases kinetically. Hence why every super has an almost overexaggarated way of presentation and destillation of raw physical prowess. Hunters channel light like a shinobiwarrior or a swordsman, typically relying on a medium (a tool in this case, be it gun or screwdriver) to channel light like into something, bow, golden gun or daggers. Agillity is what is emphasized through the leaping nature of the 'dancer or the energetic draws and releases of the shadowbow. Warlocks channel the light like an ethereal space wizzard giving zero fucks about you understanding them or your frame of refference. Absolutely out-Merlined any pre-concieved notion of immeadiate understanding. Thats actually a great move on Bungies' part as it just really flaunts the mysteries of the light in your face.
toland osiris and saint 14 should teach us new subclasses they all vanished and could have learbed crazy new abilities from being in the vex network or the hive throne worlds or where ever saint is
I like how you guys read the titan description, talk about it, then read the hunter description, and talk about it. Then Warlock, you read the description, and just move one, with no commentary from Cpt. Bias? :P
emmsnake haha I never realized this! I think I fumbled too much on the warlock part and Myelin had to cut that out. Or at least I hope so since I main warlock ;)
Funny how I wanted to play as a warlock. I didn't know they were the intellectual fighter type but personality wise their techniques always interested me most. In Destiny 2 we got the dawnblade, sentinel and arcstrider. They all look like the light engulfs them or comes from within and they all use a tool. It's like at least they took the warlock's reality defying way of use of the light and the hunter's skillful use of tools and put those two together in all three new subclasses. I don't know where the titan's straightforward use of light comes in. I guess warlocks are devestating when they use dawnblade. I don't see how arcstrider is supposed to be scary. Throwing a shield is pretty straightforward. Ah wait. No. There is still a distinct difference. Titans throw the tool. Warlocks use the tool to do reality defying stuff (throw fire balls and fly in the air) while hunters skillfully and elegantly fight with the staff looking like they are dancing.
Yo man, I have been wondering this since Destiny first came out! Great topic Myelin, thanks dude. Captain Kex was a great addition in this video as well. I enjoyed hearing some lore from his perspective. You guys make a good team. I will be checking his chart out asap! Thanks again guys! ~ Zul
+Myelin Games I wonder, has one one else looked into where Lord Timur first learned of SIVA? I've got my own theory on the subject and would like to hear your thoughts of it. If you recall, after the Battle of Six Front, groups of Iron Lord Titans known as Host's, each named after their leaders, left the city on crusades to reclaim territory for The Last City. Holborns Host left for Mars, Radegst's Host reclaimed 5 square miles of land from the walls. Another host, lead by Jagi, headed east of the Caspian Sea . . . towards the Cosmodrome. Eventually, each Guardian from Jagi's host disappeared, leaving behind only their ghosts. Slowly, each ghost returned to the city, but each was changed somehow. A conversation between two guardians described the event like this; "The time Ghosts from Jagi's Host came back without them. Remember - they got in that fight a some point east of the Caspian? Seven Ghosts, damn near silent, buzzing with some sorty of corruption. Scared the Speaker well enough." I theorize that the "corruption" these ghosts came back with was SIVA. If Jagi's host did make it all the way to the cosmodrome and establish the patrol zones, they might have kept going into what we know as The Plaguelands and it is very possible that there they encountered fragments, or remnants of SIVA. These fragments may or may not have been under the control of RASPUTIN but either way it seems the Guardians were captured, consumed, or destroyed by the SIVA they encountered and their Ghosts were infected with the technological virus. Upon returning to the City, their condition would have indeed caused quite the stir, enough to to scare the Speaker and maybe even to peak the curiosity of Iron Lord Timur, who would have already been delving deep into the mysteries of Golden Age technology, in hopes of finding something to help rebuild. I believe it is through his study of these infected ghosts that Timur learned of SIVA and by tracking the path of Jagi's Host and his various expeditions Lord Felwinter with that he found the location of The SIVA Replication Chamber, leading to the Iron Lords attempt to claim it for their own and the events we witness in The Rise of Iron cinematic. The rest, is history.
It would be interesting if erfideet taught a new subclass 'technique' focused on a strong healing/supportive role or a crowd control style of pacifist way using her peaceful teachings of the light.
this brought me on a Idea for a warlock super that makes them able to create some kind of passive Wormhole that appears when he gets attack with projectiles and it fires the launched projectiles back at the attacker, but in. the back.
what if toland returns, and teaches us the power of death (necromancy?), Praedyth somehow escapes the vault in another timeline, and teaches us how to distort time, and/or we meet a gaurdian on Europa that teaches us ice
There has to be other ways to use the Light. Just look at Saladin he uses a solar ability that he channels through his axe. Also the game hints that Efrideet is part of a group that use Light in different ways.
technique speaking of which it would be pretty dope with Destiny to allow you to learn all of the movies I hear there's supposed to be a new subclass but that's only hearsay but the idea that you can go out and learn whatever you want lol outstanding
I wish someone would write books on destiny lore or tell stories of some of the legends in a book. I personally would like to see a book made about some of the hunter legends or something. I really enjoy reading books when they have interesting stories that can keep my attention and I think some of this lore would be perfect for a book.
It could be possible saint 14 comes back with a new titan class to teach us, or osiris will return with the time travel class, possibly even the exo stranger could teach us the time travel class.
I wonder if titans, warlock, and hunters can change classes all together if they feel like it or is it set in stone that whatever they got when they were first resurrected is what they are stuck with
Shaxx has a line in the tower that mentions zavala as one hell of a striker titan before he became a sentinel. So i think its very possible to change, its just a matter of acquiring the know how.
It's kinda surprising to me that their aren't any special guardians in the lore who have figured out how to manifest their light out of the norm. Like for example conjuring a weapon out of thin air (kinetic ability)
So sad you didn't mention that Warlocks taught Hunters how to blink. That aside I think that one of the new classes could be with a whole new element. I mean Void represents Space. Solar represents the fire of the stars. Arc represents the thunder that is found on different planets. There are pieces of concept art that shows Europa, the moon of Jupiter which is basically just a block of ice. Frost could be a new elements to use. It would represent the coldness of space. Something that is everywhere. I think that would be really cool to see.
Hmmm. Would I be a warlock or hunter? I’d love to explore space, with all the history this tiny rock holds think about the history other planets could have, I want to see new planets and experience different space phenomena (that won’t immediately kill me of course), but at the same time, I want to know how it works and why it works. I’m leaning more towards the hunter side because they love exploring and uncovering secrets, but warlock would also be on the table because I want to break everything down to as small as it could be and learn about it all. Edit: Yeah, the more I think about this, the more I see myself being a hunter. Warlocks want power through knowledge and I just want if for the sake of satisfying my curiosity.
After watching this and the Book of Sorrow vids I couldn't help but notice the similarities between the classes and the three hive gods. The Titans would be like Xivu Arath in that they are the warriors. The Warlocks would be like Savathun with their cunning and vast knowledge , and the Hunters like King Oryx are the explorers or tip of the spear (sword). Maybe there's some sort of connection that created these three different classes in response to counter or even match the three hive god's traits? Just a thought.
Makes sense that my main is a Warlock and my 2nd-favorite is my hunter. And then there's my defender titan trolling the crucible with ward of dawn and no land beyond.
I dont thing we'd lose the vanguard but simply they'd be on the front lines. I especially think this because of the megablocks set with zavala facing off against a Goliath tank. But who knows, we might have characters like master rahool die from being obliterated by the cabal. cyde and shiro might both be mentor like characters for hunters, while eris would give all guardian classes the ability to use hive sorcery and maybe have us search for saint-14 and Osiris to learn vex tech and maybe some new abilitys for our solar/void classes
(this idea was inspired by a comment but i forgot their name so if it seems familiar you know who you are) what if we had to gain new power from the darkness? and we would have 2 subclasses for each subclass element like 1 Light Arc Titan subclass and one Dark Arc Titan subclass and the light subclasses would focus on armor and defense while the dark subclasses would focus on damage and speed
Technique! I really enjoyed this video, thanks. I hope Destiny 2 fleshes out the lore and includes it within the game itself, it's really a fun concept.
If we were taught about these subclasses. What about the people who found out about that certain subclass? Have people died trying to find a way to make a "subclass"? Like the way and flux of light being used in the wrong way, causing death, or permanent injury.
So basically it's entirely possible for a guardian to learn every technique but they're limited by their mindset and post City era, the laws of each order of hunters, Titans, and warlocks? I'd think it'd be interesting to see a lore figure that devoted his or her life to understanding and perfecting each ability
in D2 wouldn't it be cool if you had to make a choice carry with the learnings of the light with what's left of the vanguard (going along basis of city is destroyed) or choose a path of 'darkness' learn from ppl that have sought out other teachings like toland and osiris then you could introduce not only armour but weapons that can only be used by either light or darkness wielding guardians .... my hunter would totally choose the teachings of darkness ... a sith lord lol
Thanks for another great video myelin. Looking forward to seeing what they do with classes in destiny 2. I enjoy playing all 3 classes but my titan is my baby.
Hmmm what about the triskelion? Weren't they told as warriors who do not partake in the light but are out there fighting? Also, in many ways I don't think Eris is a guardian of light anymore, but yet she still in theory can fight as a warrior, so what type of claw would be in? Darkness?
I could see in destiny 2 getting taught a "darkness" subclass by Toland for Titans and Osiris for warlocks but who would teach the hunters? Maybe we can get a video about this Who could be the best suited mentors should the vanguard fall.
wat if Osiris returns with a time manipulation class call it timekeeper or if we learn from the taken because we technically should be the new taken king so wat if we learn darkness based classes
Dylan Drury Or maybe a class called "Heart Of Corruption" which would give a chance to have Thorn, Bad Juju and other Hive-corrupted weapons to do elemental damage. Man, darkness subclasses and elements would be cool.
Titans couldn't channel their electricity into blades so they threw a temper tantrum and the smash was created. Titans couldn't make the golden gun shoot so they threw it in anger and the hammer was born.
so all Titan abilities are them throwing the dummy out? hmmm seems legit (warlock main.....)
This is absolutely true (from a titan main)
Yep we are quite simple minded
When I couldn’t make a void bomb I yelled really loud at it and it turned into a bubble.
If titans could blink jump it would be the scariest thing ever
Hi It's Me blink jump Juggernaut shotguner:0
titans can blink. Don't you know about the ability lag?
Yeah a blinking fist of havoc would be death to death
Hi It's Me it'd look weird
Hi It's Me I can see it now. A titan blinks straight up into the air. Then comes crashing down in a fist of havoc. Totally not over powered at all.
>Sunbreaker is taught how to make a golden gun.
>throws it like a hammer instead.
Mecha Zard >throws gun at dreg
> Hunter is taught how to make a Hammer of Sol.
>Uses it like a knife
>Hunter and Titan shoot a rocket launcher.
>Warlock does a melee.
I love all classes :)
>Titan throws a Warlock who does a melee and a bladedancer Hunter projects out of his hand
>hunter gets a ward of dawn
>starts getting a knife and decide to dance.
This video seemed to illustrate how we are more like the hive than we thought. Oryx and his sister had to feed their worms different things based on their personalities. An explorer, a cunning trickster, and a warrior. Love the lore videos man!! You do a great job with the story!
this brought me on a Idea for a warlock super that makes them able to create some kind of passive Wormhole that appears when he gets attack with projectiles and it fires the launched projectiles back at the attacker, but in. the back.
what if toland returns, and teaches us the power of death (necromancy?), Praedyth somehow escapes the vault in another timeline, and teaches us how to distort time, and/or we meet a gaurdian on Europa that teaches us ice
So basically light can be used the way the individual wants to with enough dedication.
Great video myelin. Always a pleasure to listen to you.🖖
this is officially my favorite lore video 👍👍👍👍
Like for example conjuring a weapon out of thin air (kinetic ability)
i think the 3 characters on the post for destiny 2 are our new mentors and that we will re learn sol void and arc for each class.
Bro predicted stasis, even that we find it on Europa 😳
I LOVE THESE VIDEOS SO MUCH. Please keep making them. The haters are just whiny brats.
+Braden Roberts lol, thanks man!
Felwinter performed a "flying blink knee".... sounds like a shoulder charge.
Makes sense that my main is a Warlock and my 2nd-favorite is my hunter.
And then there's my defender titan trolling the crucible with ward of dawn and no land beyond.
Nice vid as always. Would love to see the whole dark gaurdian angle.
Since we dont know if saint-14 is alive or if he is he might had become sunbreaker
I can imagine just a guardian creating the dumbest super ever.
You forgot one thing. The Hunter obtains Nightstalker by taking it from another guardian.
Would you please explain why the vex are still a threat even though the heart of the black garden is destroyed? Thanks, love what you do, keep it up.
That lore chart is awesome!
Joshua Bulson thank you!
Thanks for another great video myelin. Looking forward to seeing what they do with classes in destiny 2. I enjoy playing all 3 classes but my titan is my baby.
$5 says lady effrideet is the next mentor. She says that maybe some day she will have to teach us the other ways light can be used besides weaponry.
Hmmm what about the triskelion? Weren't they told as warriors who do not partake in the light but are out there fighting? Also, in many ways I don't think Eris is a guardian of light anymore, but yet she still in theory can fight as a warrior, so what type of claw would be in? Darkness?
Finally I've been wondering about this for a long time
that would be nuts in Destiny 2 if we have to be taught and led by Toland, Osiris, Lysander and Efferdeet. The 'lost' guardians. So much hype 😁
Rediscovering this evergreen content 🙂
Every time I watch a Mylien game vid I always learn somthig
I could see in destiny 2 getting taught a "darkness" subclass by Toland for Titans and Osiris for warlocks but who would teach the hunters? Maybe we can get a video about this Who could be the best suited mentors should the vanguard fall.
Love how serious your voices are xD
They need to make spears in destiny a thing ASAP!
wat if Osiris returns with a time manipulation class call it timekeeper or if we learn from the taken because we technically should be the new taken king so wat if we learn darkness based classes
Dylan Drury I would like to move around like the taken
Dylan Drury Or maybe a class called "Heart Of Corruption" which would give a chance to have Thorn, Bad Juju and other Hive-corrupted weapons to do elemental damage. Man, darkness subclasses and elements would be cool.
Jose Zamora 'lag jumping' - it's been going on in Destiny since day 1 😂
Except Osiris is a warlock
YOU GUYS MISSED THE BLINK FOR HUNTERS! "...but we learned how to blink from the warlocks" I'm pretty sure it's an armor piece or something.
we need that concept art as armor in game
the sunstrikers sound extremely overpowered
In Destiny 2 there could be mentors of the darkness what I mean is they were teached new powers and teached them to the guardians
Don't mind me, I'm just over here silently judging Myelin for using high agility on a Titan. :P
Great video though, with some very good points!
Technique is everything
Imagine a voidwalker fused with sunsinger abilities, they can throw multiple mini bolts of energy instead of 1 or 3 and continue for a limited time
enjoyed playing with you myelin technique
That's a sexy looking fusion rifle at the start.
+Myelin Games can you re do your lore on red death as the ornaments are named "witches" and I beleive bungie did that for a reason.
Weapon of Sorrow?
I agree with the abilities are universal because if you remember Eris Mourn did a warlock trick from Toland to save the guardian in crota realm
Robert Singleton that's hive magic bro
how do you know it hive magic ?
Myelin, I noted some observations regarding links to guardian classes in the Discord lore chat, nothing concrete though.
