Question: the Massey 1745 is not a dump and go baler. I read that you have to disengage the pto before dumping. Do you throttle down before engaging and disengaging the PTO on the Kubota?
Mine has the independent pto so it engages really smoothly. I just leave the rpms set during the entire process. It’s not as much of an inconvenience as I expected when dumping. I do turn it back on while closing the tailgate. For the price point it would be hard to find a better baler. I’ve weighed some 4x5’s and they average 1100 pounds.
Nice looking hay. I got 21 4x4 bales off about 7 acres. Had a couple places on steep hill I lost traction and had too back down. Just another day in the hills. Look forward to more videos.
@@khtractors how does you Kubota handle the 5 disc disc mower? I thinking about upgrading from a sickle bar mower, but I don’t think the tractor and ground combination would lend itself to a 6 disc. I’ve got the power to do either, just sure the weight would be there to support the 6 disc.
@@dwalke26 it handles the 5 disc great! A Vermeer is probably about the heaviest out there too. If I had this Kubota before buying the mower I would have went with a 6 disc. What tractor do you have?
Ok, I am such a wuss. I have a Kubota M6040 and I'd hesitate to climb that hill, even with no baler in tow. I'm looking at buying a Massey 1745. It's good to know that I could bale anywhere on my hilly land, because nothing is that steep here. Kudos to the tractor driver.
I would need to time it. Our problem is having to find a good place to dump, on level ground a person could bale a 1/3 faster. These bales are 4’ tall but it will make a 5’ bale. Thanks for watching!
Darn good videos!
Appreciate you watching!
👍👌🇨🇦❤, new sub, gr8 stuff

steve ware it’s not a good feeling when you spin out. Be safe! We’ve rolled 202 and square baled 450 so far.
You’ve got to be in the South East (TN, KY, VA, NC). That’s some rough ground
Yes we are in Southwest Virginia, Dickenson County. Thanks for watching!
@@khtractors I was thinking that area. I’m in East TN, so I knew you had to possibly be somewhere in the Appalachian Region. Good channel.
@@dwalke26 thanks! I’m glad you like it!

The 1745 is a great baler, it’s 8.5’ wide so very stable. I’ve baled some steep places with this combination. Thanks for watching!
hello, how many bales were created in 1 hour? and how much diameter?

Yes I'm up early every day
