Cradle is the first and only Goldeneye 64 song I've ever made a full remix for, back in 2013.
Which is criminal, really, considering it's one of my favorite Nintendo 64 games and soundtracks.
This time around, I bumped the key back up to the original, and made a few changes (mostly in the solo section).
To quote Trevelyn and Bond during the final moments of the Cradle stage:

A minute of silence for the Arecibo Telescope, which collapsed in December 2020, and was made famous by the movie GoldenEye.

@@JohnMatayas yes. The area the telescope was built was isolated enough for the film crew to make it look like any remote area of the world, in a sense. Also true about its structure collapsing. :( it's a shame because that telescope helped advance things regarding interstellar imaging. Yet between pandemic and natural disasters... Repairing it is just not a high priority at this time.
@@ZeroHourProductions407 Some bits of the over-exaggerated scenes like the telescope slowly rising out from a pool of water, was a miniature set constructed at pinewood studios in the UK. **and the finale explosion sequence, I believe.** (but yes, the actual real deal thing that collapsed is unfortunate, and insane)
Second minute of silence, as the Cradle is a ""fully coded"" multiplayer level, but it's on an old broken nav mesh and lags the N64 like crazy. What could have been.

God, I always forget just how GOOD Goldeneye music is. May's starting off INCREDIBLY strong, and I can't wait to have to stop myself from saying "this really can't get better from here on out" because it definitively IS going to get better.

Man, this brings back some great memories. My brother and I played Goldeneye (and Perfect Dark) endlessly. Getting all the cheats unlocked, forever screaming at Natalya for being dumber than a box of rocks, pretty dang good music, and many, many deaths… In fact, whoever died first tensed to just chain-die after that, cause we had all the spawn locations memorized and would fill them with proximity mines. Ah, good times. xD

Impeccable timing as always, Mr. Atma. You've managed to hit the milestone of being the only track I know which roughly celebrates the first time Dr. No ever hit cinemas.
Now, seeing as I've recently watched Thunderball, here's my recommendation. Sadly, there isn't any adaptation that would hit the bill for this channel; however, here's the next best thing.
Snake Eater, from Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater.
My suggestion for a future song is the Netherworld theme composed by Jori Olkkonen. This song is often overlooked but it sounds awesome and I hope his skill with the guitar can elevate this song to even higher levels.
That would actually be great! Now that Metal Gear's back in the popular side, a song from the franchise would be great!

Goldeneye 007 is one of the best games that came from the N64 library and its multiplayer is fun.
This hits me straight in my nostalgic soul. My friends and I used to repeatedly restart multiplayer games just to get this song or Runway.

And I thought the original Cradle song from 007 Goldeneye was already badass, but this is even better than that.
I never played Goldeneye 007, and I don't recall watching the actual movie it's based on, at least not all the way through. What I do know is that the Nintendo 64 game ended up being rather revolutionary in terms of console FPS's as well as one of the shining examples of "good licensed games". Also, the music was done by Grant Kirkhope, and as someone who grew up with Banjo-Kazooie and Banjo-Tooie, and listed to my fair share of Donkey Kong 64, Yooka-Laylee, and Mario + Rabbids: Kingdom Battle, the music from this game kicks my ass so hard I was practically wearing it as a hat, it's freaking incredible!
Stay classy, Jonny! (and maybe bring back the fedora sometime?)
The game might be a bit weird control-wise compared to modern FPS, but if you can get used to how it plays, it's still very much worth playing. It has really cool objective-based level design that's pretty much unlike any modern shooter.
And don't forget, it gave us the legendary meme. GEDDAN
I've watched the movie and the movie's fantastic and it has the legendary "I AM INVINCIBLE!"

Sad fact: the satellite facility in the movie, which is also this level, was a real place.

The rigging for the antenna collapsed into the dish, the dish shattered, and it was decided to not rebuild this cultural icon.
It happened in December 2020.
They decided to decomission and dismantle the telescope, but then, one month later, it fell down on its own.
There are rumors that GoldenEye is coming back, maybe it will get an emulated version on Nintendo Switch Online, or maybe an enhanced port/remaster.
It's a shame that decades later, videogame companies don't learn their lesson with licensing, never paying for a contract where even after it expires, they can still sell the game that was already released, they just can't use the license in another game, so many games were removed from digital stores thanks to expired licenses, but the problem is not "physical vs. digital" because GoldenEye 007 cannot be sold without a license from MGM/EON, as for now, the game only exists officially on the original N64 carts, and while they are sturdy, they won't last forever, games need to be constantly rereleased and reprinted, or else the only way to play them will be on emulators.
When Hollywood makes movies using things they don't own, like adapting from other media or using licensed music, even after the license contract expires, they can still sell the movie that they already released, they just can't use the license on another movie, Sony no longer owns the rights to Ghost Rider, but they can still sell the previous two movies, they just can't make a third movie.
Videogames are still treated like toys and other merchandise, once the license expires, goodbye game, this is even worse now where many games are released only on digital stores and the contract expiring means the game cannot be sold anymore, but even before digital downloads existed, this was already a problem, making physical copies limited and preventing rereleases or remakes.
Ahh, this brings back good memories. Good stuff.
