Is this for Valentine's Day, Martin. A nice choice for a mandolin tune. The tremolo works well. I'm not sure but I wonder if the original had tremolo?

Thanks, Ginny! I would like to claim it's for Valentine's Day, but the truth is I hadn't noticed that coincidence until you pointed it out. There were at least four "original" recordings released as singles to coincide with the release of the movie (instrumentals by Henry Mancini and Francis Lai, and vocal versions by Andy Williams and Tony Bennett), but the Francis Lai version used in the movie had the melody mainly on piano, so no tremolo.
