I would like to see you and smart Christians channel interact. I believe both of your views are very similar and he references the Bible as well. He is not a woke pastor either. His name is Corey Minor

Scary. Someone as intelligent as Mchorter to have this type of stance.

He has no objective moral anchor so utilitarianism/ consequentialism seems to be his ethical models of choice.

I read his book Losing The Race when it came out 25 years ago, and it really was one of my first steps toward RACE Doctrine skepticism, not the first but definitely in me early intellectual growth....but outside of that book, I've never liked any of his takes.

McWhorter surprises me. Proverbs 9:10 states that knowledge of the holy one is insight. Prior to that one must understand the concept of holiness. To be set apart, different and distinct by necessity makes one see people and ideas categorically. If one cannot distinguish between two ideas then one cannot understand how God is holy (i.e. unique).
Modern intellectuals have lost this ability to distinguish bewteen things and ideas. To them everything is the same thus nothing is more important than another. Something as patriotism and citizenship disgust them because it demonstrates distinction of which they learned does not exist. Therefore, something as secularism is easy for them to accept because it affirms their worldview.
Last thing: these kinds of people are especially dangerous because without an understanding of distinction there is no value nor hierarchy of values. They will give up themselves, their family, children, and neighbors all for the collective (i.e. communism) and have no understanding of what they're doing. Only their theoretical thinking convincing them they are righteous.

I agree with you about the academic intellectuals. I find McWhorter particularly interesting. To me, he comes across as though he's playing a role. There is something disingenuous about him.
