0:11 - I'm here to talk about Guilty Gear, to start off, what character do you like? Could be cause of lore, gameplay, or design, any reason.
2:48 - While characters have always had themes, besides Sol's dragon install in Xrd, Strive is the first time characters had lyrical themes which talk about the characters lore, personality, etc. The question is do you think this is a good way to deliver story to a person, or do you think this only works in a fighting game setting?
4:27 - Happy Chaos and Asuka have been around since the start of Guilty Gear, known as The Original and That Man respectively. In Strive they both make their playable debut, so the question is how do you feel about waiting years to finally get to learn all there is to a character? Doesn't have to be Guilty Gear but another franchise could work too.
6:24 - Strive has a fun way of showing an overpowered character storywise, in matches. For example, the vampires Nagoriyuki and Slayer don't go unconscious after losing, but more like lay on their side and smile at the opponent, and Happy Chaos, despite having a magic gun, uses a replica for his gameplay. How would you choose to represent an overpowered character in gameplay? You can name any examples that come to mind.
7:54 - Guilty Gear has brought characters back to life before with Zato, who lost his emotions after coming back, and Romeo (or Bedman), with him being a literal bed now, with both having done horrible things before their death. When brought back, they tend to focus on one person, Millia and Delilah respectively. The question is do you feel this limits their potential writing? For context most of their own thoughts can only be found in their Strive themes.
10:26 - Let's do a fun question. Guilty Gear's lore has a lot of real world elements built in, such as Bill Clinton being canon to Guilty Gear, and it just so happens that during the whole "video games make kids violent" time, he quoted a Guilty gear ad, "Kill your friends, Guilt Free." So Ian based on what you know of Guilty Gear, try to give your best explanation on how Bill could've read this same ad in the world of Guilty Gear.
11:20 - Guilty Gear Accent Core story is weird since it's a super arcade where how you perform in the matches affect the story. Problem is its unclear what's canon and what isn't, such as when Sol had to fight his past self, I-no would kill his past self, and one ending Sol dies, and the other he basically shrugs it off like nothing happened and is sent back to his time, even though it should've killed him. So Ian, based on what you know, how could Sol live, you can come up with an explanation you'd like, we're just having fun here.
12:17 - Often times we don't question how a character can preform a move, we just say it's game mechanics, but today we will! Anji Mito got a new move, in which after a successful dodge with his spin, he can do a follow up where he creates a stream of water and a koi fish flips out at the end of the move. His fans can only control wind for context, and Anji has never done any water bending nonsense before, so give it your best explanation Ian!
13:32 - Happy Chaos was a good guy gone mad, knows everything about the universe, is stated to be neutral, he's immortal, yet he isn't a villain to rule the world, he just does these horrible acts because he wants to create drama, a story in which people overcome the story he creates, all for fun, even if he had to fill the role of the hero. Based on a little bit of what live said, what do you think about him, and do you think a character like this could work in franchises you worked on/created?
16:01 - Last question, Guilty Gear has several funny weapons, like Sol's giant lighter, Goldlewis alien in a coffin, or Anji using fans, so Ian and Kyle, what would your weapons of choice be in this world, remember you are using magic, so have fun with any idea you got!

I personally think of the Backyard as the server backend for an MMO or something similar. And since the characters can only access the place through very specific knowledge and great effort, it almost begins to sound like how we use cheatcodes and debug mode in games in real life. I think it's incredibly fascinating to apply concepts like that into world building in such a way.
I've been a Ky main ever since I first played X2 Reload on my first crappy ol' PC that couldn't run anything except 2D games.
It's a basic choice, but I didn't have any knowledge about fighting games as a kid and just picked the guy with a cool lightning sword. I eventually decided to stick with him later in life since I enjoy how his long-range normals makes for an excellent mid-range, poke-oriented playstyle that makes great and intuitive use of the Roman Cancel system to convert stray pokes into full damage from deceptively far away compared to the rest of the cast.
Nowadays, I like Ky for his story of slowly but surely growing from a close-minded stooge into becoming a wise and beloved king who recognizes that the spoon-fed propaganda and bad-apples of his past doesn't justify persecuting an entire race of sentient "monsters". It also helps that his themes are always amazing, and being voiced by Future Trunks himself also doesn't hurt.
The thing I appreciate about Zato and Bedman's deaths is that it doesn't negate the fact that they died by bringing them back. They irrevocably lost a part of themself to come back (in Bedman's case he's not technically back, most of it is the bed's programming and Bedman can MAYBE influence it from beyond the grave slightly. In plenty of ways the bed's current dynamic with Delilah reminds me more of Gemerl than anything.) and are left feeling incomplete because of it. They linger like a ghost should and the story moves on to focusing more on the other characters connected to them like Millia and Delilah. It also doesn't like, entirely negate the possibility of at least Zato doing more. He was in Sin's arcade mode and it was a pretty funny way of showing Zato's untrusting nature as an assassin vs. Sin's overly trusting and naive outlook on life. I don't know, lots of media has characters come back from the dead and it really doesn't do anything but rever to the status quo, I'm glad there's a tangible consequence in guilty gear.

(Persona 5 Royal spoilers!!) What are your thoughts on Maruki's offer from Persona 5 Royal from a writer's point of view? I personally think it's very interesting, and makes Maruki one of the best villains in the series. I also think it has interesting parallels to Merlina's goals, but the difference in them makes them interesting to compare and think about, considering they ultimately wanted very similar things. The loss of true free will for the sake of a happy world, and the loss of true growth for the sake of a never ending life.

Tell me, if the crossover of Sonic and Mega Man united the worlds happened after the adaptation of Frontiers, then how would it change? Super Sonic and Mega Man in Super Armor would use cyber energy to fight Sigma instead of weakening him?
