- Kaitlyn is joined by theologian Marc Cortez to answer the question: What will my grandma look like in heaven? Will she look like I remember her, or will she look younger? Kaitlyn and Dr. Cortez also discuss other questions about our life in eternity: How old will we be? Will we be the same gender? Will we recognize each other? Dr. Cortez also teaches us why these questions are surprisingly important for understanding humans, God, and God’s plan for creation.
As a mom whose disabled daughter is no longer living, I can't keep from hoping that my girl will be happy, will have no pain, and may be able to walk. But her sweet innocence, sense of humor, and beautiful face will endure, I pray. I cannot wait to see her again.
I recently and sadly remembered a conversation I had with my pasted away now mother in law and a believer. She stated that we won't know.each other in heaven we are like a floating light.m Which is probably the soul part we have been taught. But no that is sad and worse than the Singing with Angels . On clouds. Yes we want to see Jesus and we want to live forever but knowing about how Heaven and Earth meet and a new but beautiful earth and heaven with God on the throne and the city of Jerusalem described.. It gets a lit better everytime I hear or pray more
When my father passed away my 4 year old grandaughter at the time had just gone to another funeral and someone told her all this awesome stuff about heaven and how great and she described it like the vest Disney World ever!! Lol
BUT as I held her and saw my dad's body the last time after the funeral, she states besides our 2 pastors , I think Grandaddy is at the Ice Cream both and getting Ice Cream now!! ❤❤❤ Thankfully both pastors told her," " Yes, he may sweetie but it will be even better than that... More than we can imagine!"
Videos like this are way I subscribed. Well done. God bless.🙏❤️
- Kaitlyn Schiess, you do a very intelligible and creative job towards your approach with Curiously, Kaitlyn
I'm so glad to listen to this because I kept the part Jesus after the reserection on my mind recently. I don't think I was taught that way but definately I have learned we will have a new body that is perfected by Christ. The one we have now.. But the best.. So That is also why when Jesus was reserected and they don't know him or are confused.. The healed nail scared hand... Yes.. So that is true as I understand it now.. thank you
That's great you brought up the All Nations part of Revelation. It's what Pentecost was a preview of with all nations gathered and hearing each other in their own tongues. God's throne has a rainbow. Jesus' crown has a rainbow. God is a huge fan of color. On an completely unrelated note, Ruby Ridges is 69.
I LOVE❤❤❤ your last point!! Wow
For the life of me, I can't imagine "being me" apart from my wife or my animals. The community component of new creation is what occupies my thoughts and potential fears the most. It's not good for man to be alone.
I know we don't know but I do believe with all my heart since songs like" There will be no crippled boy in heaven and I can run and play with all the other kids.
Helen Keller can see and hear.
Disabilities like in pain or struggling no.. They will be physically cured of that I absolutely believe
I know for sure I will see my loved ones like my granny again in heaven.. I know it. Always ! Those in Christ yes! Scripture , preachers I trusted know truth! I do know I will see my loved ones again.. I just know that with the Holy Spirit😊
One idea I have heard and like is that we will look like ourselves. Just with the ability if you will, to go back and forth on our timelines. The idea comes from when Jesus was walking and talking with two of his disciples, yet they did not recognize him. Then all of a sudden they do. Could he have appeared as say a kid and then all of a sudden as his adult self, in which they knew him?
It was a wise move to switch the 'ei' Sheiss into 'ie' Shiess! hahahaha
Fun discussion. But I wonder, does eternity imply the infinite continuation of time or the absence of time. Either way our current bodies won't do. Even thought and movement takes place in time. Our current bodies aren't made for eternity and I'm not sure we can imagine bodies that are. I enjoy thinking about these things but, "I don't know" seems like the wise answer. But God is good, and whatever becomes of us, like our current bodies, will reflect that goodness.
Our earthly understanding of time is also limited by linearity. Personally, I think that time won’t be a shackle anymore, and the distinctions between past/present/future will be less important in the new creation. But like you said, we don’t really know.
what will you experience if your cherished grandma doesn't make it into heaven?
Where in the universe is heaven located?
"I believe in the teachings of #Christ, but you on the other side of the world do not, I read the #Bible faithfully and see little in #Christendom that those who profess faith pretend to see. The Christians above all others are seeking after #wealth. Their aim is to be #rich at the expense of their #neighbors. They come among aliens to #exploit them for their own good and #cheat them to do so. Their #prosperity is far more essential to them than the life, liberty, and happiness of others."
