Thank you for keeping all of these sermons up. I listened to this message years ago and I here I am finding it once again when I needed it most. The word of God is true always. Thank you.

If you are reading this, know that God loves you and has a plan to heal your broken heart. Read the book of Psalms and know you are not alone in your suffering. People will fail us and this world will fail us, but God is still real and He is still on the throne and we are JUST PASSING THROUGH THIS WORLD. We are not meant to be here for ever but there IS an eternal home with a REAL parent who loves us and wants us. Jesus Christ, the creator of everything that is seen and unseen, LOVES YOU. We can help each other but we have to be vulnerable and honest and allow others to see our pain. I am praying for every person who is reading this right now. My prayers are tears that God bottles and pours out over those that need them, in His time. If you want true peace and joy, it won’t come from drugs or sex or living for yourself. It only comes from LOVE.

People won’t sing in church or about/to God, because singing is worshipping and you cannot worship with a heart filled with bitterness and pain. The heart of mankind is programmed to know the Truth (it is written upon our hearts), so when we are hurt and don’t get healed, we become bitter and unforgiving and hateful and automatically turn away from God because deep down, we know that God created us. So instead of being angry at mankind or ourselves for failures, we blame God. People might want to hear superficial preaching because it will scratch itchy ears, but praising God/singing unto God is about God, and the flesh is selfish. In order for flesh to want to be in the presence of God, it has to feel good. God knows this, so He taught us to leave our gifts at the altar and go make ammends. Then, He tells us that putting on the garment of praise and singing is equivalent to fighting the spirit of heaviness, which is depression- anger and unforgiveness and bitterness and disappointment turned inwards. If you really want to have a joyful soul, you have to make peace with yourself and mankind and you have to forgive and move on. I promise you, that if you start praising God for His marvelous works (can you not give Him credit for one single thing that He created in this world, or even the fact that He tells us He loves us even when we are unloveable to ourselves or others?), you will CHANGE your atmosphere and course of your life. Go to your brother /sister/mother/father/kids/grandkid/pastor/, etc and tell the, how you feel and then FORGIVE them, and forgive yourself, and you will have a light heart and you will be able to praise God. If you follow His plan for our luves, to walk in LOVE, them we will not hurt others or ourselves or God, and we will be filled with peace and joy. Will it be easy? No. Will that unforgiveness and bitterness and disappointment keep popping back up from time to time? Yes, but if you love yourself and love God and love others, you will let it go and you will be able to feel that joy and love again. Peace is a verb. Love is also a verb! The scripture says to, “Put on the garment (the word put is an imperative/command) of PRAISE (for yourself and for others and for God) for the spirit of heaviness (yes, heaviness/depression is a SPIRIT, and it is NOT of God!).
In other words, when you that demonic spirit of heaviness comes upon you, clothe yourself in praise! O taste and see that the LORD is good! Try God and His ways and you really will have your joy full, and it won’t be dependent upon your circumstances or places or people. It will be because your actions, praise, envelops you, like a mother hen puts her soft and gentle wings around her chicks, protecting them and bringing them comfort.
That is what God wants us to have-His comfort. His protection. This world and the people in it are finite but God is everlasting and after we die, we will stand in front of Jesus Christ and we will be judged for the good and bad that we have done- and not on our own conditions, wither. We will be judged by the Word of God. Your life will change when you start fellowshipping with others who want to walk in love and genuinely practice that behavior.
