  • Various clips of CTrail GP40-3Hs 6698 and 6699 operating on Metro-North’s Waterbury Branch were taken mostly in Derby and Ansonia. The ending clip on the video is from my deck in Ansonia on a rainy night as the geep rumbles south blowing for Division St.

Sweet catch of CDOT Geeps 6698 & 6699 leading & trailing on Metro North Shuttles on the Waterbury Branch. Fun fact all the MN crews based out of Stamford, New Haven & Danbury prefer the Geeps over the BL20GH’s operating wise. I hope to photograph the two Geeps in action. If only they could pair one of the Geeps to a full Red CDOT set that would be one hell worth of a catch.

Sometimes, the gp40s also go through the Danbury branch

Very rarely the cable train, and very rarely does P&W CT-2 go here. If any freight is down here.
The most you catch is GP35R’s towing disabled Metro-North sets :p
