I never understood how Big Boss becomes a 'demon' in The Phantom Pain. In Chapter 2, I can see it, but it's a complete blur in the beginning of the game.
Warp Hype he nearly died in a helicopter crush and his base was destroyed. He lost an arm and has debree in his head. He was in a coma for 9 years and returned for revenge. He basically returned from the dead for evil reasons.
Nobody gonna comment about sahelanthropus in the beginning? Also why was sahelanthropus so dusty and rusty and dirty and slow there. But when you see the full sahelanthropus it’s so fast
Sahelanthropus wasnt complete at that point, it was still being built but skull face took it out for a spin. The dust and rust could be from the mist as it does rust metal as we saw in metallic archae but since sahelanthropus is made from a more durable metal it can sustain the mist and its rust effect.
All of this is a hallucination. Skullface never speaks to Venom without Psycho Mantis present and Venom never speaks directly to Skullface. The real twist of this game is that Skullface is an alter ego of Venom. Venom is too damaged to figure it out. Kaz and Ocelot are in on reinforcing the illusion too.

He become a demon when he chose to use someone as a bodydouble against their will. Not to mention using staff at that hospital as human shields.
