"We're long past 3rd Strike being at E-Sports events" Well...I mean, 3rd Strike IS a main roster game at EVO this year (and was in EVO Japan too), and is actually quite common at a bunch of bigger tournaments like CEO, Combo Breaker, Frosty Faustings, East Coast Throwdown, and more.

3rd Strike at Combo Breaker this year has similar entrants to Mortal Kombat 1 and more than games like Melee and Dragon Ball. That's just proof that there's life in the old horse yet. (Also shoutouts to KOF and Skullgirls getting a pretty decent turnout, and fucking DARKSTALKERS getting over a hundred entrants. This is why Combo Breaker is peak FGC to me)
When she was first released, Brigitte from Overwatch was ridiculously overpowered. If she got in close, her healing and damage was enough for her to take out characters who had double or more of her base health, and she had access to armor which was a base amount of damage off the table. Effectively, she was a healer with about a 500 health pool that was constantly regenerating, forcing other players to relentlessly focus-fire her down or die.
oh yeah she was, remembered when i was soloing an entire team with her at the start XD
Brig was so fun 😂. I was mediocre at best at the game until I played first release brig then I turned into a nightmare.
These noobs legit put Reina in here instead 😂
Seer sounds intensify.
His main problem wasn’t even the “wallhacks”. It was the ability to cancel your heal while also stunning you if I remember correctly.

Reina isn't even top 5 in Tekken 8 lol. If you want one Tekken character, launch Leroy or Fahk from Tekken 7 are good shouts. They utterly dominated ranked.
Reina is a big strech here. She has more commands in movelist than almost any other character, yes. But as a Mishima she has some serious mechanics behind that. Wave dash, korean back dash, knowing how and when to react on fly. She's arguably one of the hardest characters in T8, and as such (even with absurdly high pick rate) average win rate for her is one of the lowest in roster. She's more often than not being the one destroyed (unless a very good player with deep understanding of her mechanics is playing).
I think a decent reason for the winrate for her being low is that she's super cool lol. That means a lot of totally new players will pick her and naturally be playing her in the inevitable "get your ass beat" phase. Same reason King's winrate has often been low.
Feng, Dragunov, Azucena , King easily clear Reina, who made this list lol

In Tekken, it should be Azucena or Eddy while DBFZ is Android 21.
I'm suprised Inferno in Soul Calibur 6 isn't on this list.
Not only was the character completely unchanged from the boss version, but the developers knew how broken he was in multiplayer so they made it so he couldn't be used in ranked matches.
I remember when Vivian was first introduced in Paladins. She could melt an entire team alone, we, high elo players, all quit playing for 1 or 2 weeks for the nerf.
Vanilla Mvc3 sentinel also deserves some recognition. Crouching heavy to launch to anything almost deletes a character. Only reason it isn't remembered more is that one faced so many online it became routine to counter it.
Butcher in Heroes of the Storm was absolutely TERRIFYING back in the day, almost no melee hero could stand up to him
Seer was specifically made for COD players when warzone had a real bad hacking problem, they just made a character who is a literally heartbeat sensor, to bring players over

Android 16's dunks will never not be satisfying.
Landorus is far more terrifying in singles when using Incarnate form. Lando-I is so intensely strong, it’s in Smogon’s Uber tier, and it’s currently terrorizing doubles
Another good example of these types of characters is Meta Knight in SSB Brawl, Bayonetta in Smash 4 and Brigitte from OW1.
You should do a video of perfectly balanced characters in multiplayer games!!
Oddjob really wasn't so bad once you discovered that you could crouch in Goldeneye and that it had no impact on movement speed.
I don't know if coop would count, but Zeratul in StarCraft 2 coop was massively overpowered when they first released him as a coop commander. He started with maximum supply, his units had powerful attacks, and his level upgrades were free, you just had to find the 3 fragments on the map, and Zeratul had a teleport option to pick them up. Zeratul with Stalker / Enforcer / Shieldguard ball and a Zoraya legion call down could easily clear the map by mid game, even without the other player's help.

Oddjob. I hated that guy. Such a pain to deal with that he was banned from being chosen on most matches. The weirdest part is, imaging that being your introduction to the character. Then you go back and watch Goldfinger. Dude wasn't short in the movie or in real life (the actor was 5'10"). So what happened here?
I'm kinda surprised Meta Knight from Brawl wasn't on here. He's notoriously broken in that game to the point that he was the only character to be banned in tournaments if I'm not mistaken. Correct me if I'm wrong.
He was banned in majority of 1v1 tournaments but duo meta knights were banned in EVERY 2v2 tournament.
I'd argue Bayonetta in wiiu was worse but both were broken for sure

If I recall correctly he was banned too late and the long time it took to ban him kinda killed Brawl (among other reasons)

"Ice is a rarely used offensive type" my ass its the most common coverage move on literally almost every offensive water (especially when hidden power was still in the game) and calyrex ice is literally one of the best vgc restricted out right now (there's also chien pao as a non restricted)
Reina probably is a monster but I've heard quite a few nightmare stories about Azucena, Victor, King, Feng, Jun & the recently deployed Eddy.
In Fighter Z I think Gohan, Cell, & possibly Bardock during season 1 caused a lot of issues. Bardock might've been DLC though.
Bardock was broken as all hell every team had to have him right after he was released
Really dark Phoenix a character considered very situational and hard to get out and by the time you get it and by the time you get and you basically have to play with the getting her out in mind handicapping yourself with every other character in your team it's very rare to actually went with her because you are most likely not going to get her out
Bastion had a personal shield in the beta during turrent form. 6 years later as of this week he has been nerfed due to armor.
Reina is getting balance changes in Tekken 8 tonight as of this video.
@1:30 That's ultimately the thing. One can make stupid excuses like "durrr just counter bastion" in a vacuum, but this is a team game, with timed objectives. You cannot assume the other 4 enemies are irrelevant, you cannot assume flawless play from your allies or even yourself, you cannot assume a map or objective layout makes "countering" someone even feasible in a timed sense either. Meanwhile all the keyboard drooler on the high skill character needs to do is hold down left click in the general vicinity of an enemy.
And thus did I largely main Junkrat, because ricocheting grenades is a good way to bypass a lot of "highly skilled" characters and it happened to be my own only actual fps talent of note.
Oddjob is great, but his short stature is just the half of it. He can also throw his hat at people for a 1-hit kill.
Top 10 characters that destroyed people online and the second character can't even be played online good job makes a lot of sense doesn't it
Honorable mention, thought it's a weapon, not a character: the Aerospray RG in Splatoon 3.
I actually like Luke in Street Fighter 6. Plus Reina from Tekken 8. I'm sure the latter will be here to stay for Tekken 9.

For League of Legends banning characters actually boils down to meta and counter picks. There are characters that counter Kassidin. At the moment Skarner is the most ban character due to his VG and Skill update. He's imbalanced and needs to be nerfed.
For tekken 8 its deviljin even on launch.. and for Umvc3 it should have been ghost rider.. but who plays as the old nick cage ey

Not really, she's very very good. She's just not super top tier. You could argue that she's top 5, maybe, and losing to a strong character doesn't mean you suck.
