Opening session: envisioning the future of social work in England

Speakers from Social Work England, the National Advisory Forum and Beverley Tarka, President of the Association of Directors of Adult Social Services, discussed:
- building trust and confidence in the social work profession, and in regulation, by strengthening our relationship with the sector
- collaborating with other sector leaders to develop a clear and shared understanding of risks to the public and agree how to manage those risks
- the important role initial education plays in establishing a strong foundation for social work professional practice and ongoing professional development
