Great video Hivemind, but I couldn't help notice Dignan didn't break eye contact with the camera the entire time. He didn't even blink. Is anyone else experiencing this?
Dignan wasn't in this video? I think you should see a psychiatrist dude. Although Dignan does have some abilities many wouldn't consider human, so I'm sure it's nothing to worry about!
4:30 Graydon was right, they actually lit a guy on fire for the Wish You Were Here album cover. From Wikipedia: Two stuntmen were used (Ronnie Rondell and Danny Rogers), one dressed in a fireproof suit covered by a business suit. His head was protected by a hood, underneath a wig.
the babytron one is a play on all of the edited pictures of nba youngboys mugshot of him as mario, naruto, etc. that people were and still are using as their profile pics
The Supertramp album is just genius. The Statue of Liberty-diner lady, with New York being made up of cutlery, plates and coffee cups. Great music too. (Dignan is holding me hostage at a playground in rural Switzerland)
You guys are incredible at improv, love when you guys do those bits! I didn’t appreciate that “Rending” segment though, the blood covered the camera so I couldn’t really tell what was going on beyond the harrowing noises. Resubscribed
Another great detail about the supertramp cover is that the diner waitress is actually a stand in for the statue of liberty (her pose with the drink over her head is just like the torch and it’s position in relation to Manhattan)
16:50 in mario oddysey mario can through his hat at enemies and transforms into them adorned with a hat and mustache. This mechanic is called capturing which is why babytron used it because he got captured
hivemind more like grindmind because the upload schedule is absolutely mental!! I, unfortunately, will not be in this video. I was recently diagnosed with terminal ball cancer, and cannot continue shooting. Graydon, make mama proud
The Yachty cover was made by Jon Rafmen using AI tools. He uses a very involved process to deliberately exploit the flaws of the technology to create uncanny or frightening images I’m a huge fan of his work and its kinda annoying that a lot of people dismiss art made with AI tools as being lazy when it depends on how you use the technology. The AI itself is just a tool like a camera or paintbrush.
i just love the music played during the premiere! kind of reminds me of the music Dignan played throughout my household to torment me and my tied up family!
The reason the caroline polachek album kinda feels like the 70s is because the photo was shot on the Bakerloo line, which is by far the most 70s-looking tube line
6:40 i love the album one of my fav atm but i think the pic with the sun in the field thats on the inside of the vynil fits a lot more. if he used that one it would be an A/S to me
Yeah cuz barely anyone knew who the artist was and I only knew who it was cuz I already followed her work dice spice really disappointed me w that can't lie

Riley wanting to give Maggot Brain a B i cannot forget nor forgive 🤬 I’m ok with it as an A because the head isn’t centered, but my argument is that THEY ARE A PSYCHEDELIC/FUNK BAND. It’s way too legendary to be below an A. Inspired ‘Awaken, My Love!’ not only visually, but sonically
I like the Heros and Villains one cause there is more than what you see (idk i am having high thoughts rn) for example, the shape of the 2 metros makes a M, for (Metro) also the two metros represent the Heros and Villains who shake hands (peace symbol) so they work together like the artists on the album, who represent heroes and villains throughout, work together
I like everything you put out, but this is literally your best series yet, I’ve watched all the previous installments ten times over. I don’t see anyone else on the internet doing this, please make more!
I could be wrong, but is 10k gecs' cover intentionally a spoof on American Gothic? Gives a lot of similarities, and it would be a pretty cool reframing of it
i like the Her Loss cover, but idk how it works as a drake album. like if it was an album cover for music made by the girl on the cover it would be so strong
Grayden - *talks about a Psychedelic album that he shows his passion for and praises the artwork* Riley - “yeah doesn’t do much for me” Grayden - “yeah C is fine”
20:58 he’s actually right, gout was coined as the Kings Disease back in the day because of its association with excess eating, specifically with red meat and high alcohol consumption. A lot of really famous kings, queens, emperors, rich people, etc. throughout history actually had it
No idea if this could be intentional but the king's disease and the gold could be a reference to the story of the "midas touch" a king that asked a god that everything he touch would turn to gold, and it ended up being a curse and stuff, or the gold probably signifies the lighting and the person who took the photo
I don't know if anyone has commented this yet, but the "Scaring The Hoes"-album art is a edited image of a poster for a movie called "Sweet Jesus, Preacherman", so that is why it is giving that "afrocentric action movie" type of feeling.
17:58 The Forever Story cover reminds me of The Circle Jerk's 'Group Sex' album cover. Not sure if that was a purposeful homage, but it would make sense if it was.🤔
I'm getting chills thinking about Eddie Hazel playing guitar in Maggot Brain. I guess George Clinton told him to play like his mom died. I think it's safe to say that he did so
12:00 This cover, as much as I'm sorry to say it, is absolutely fantastic. Unfortunately, in my opinion, the guy makes completely limited music, but this cover is aesthetic, colorful and powerful. I think it could be the cover of a brilliant work, but unfortunately the "artist" isn't particularly great. Still, for me it's right at the top of the category. At least an A. I collect records and have a small wall where a few records always hang, just to appreciate the covers and because it's also a cool home accessory. And if the music was cool, this would definitely be one for the wall.
I think the reason that the Lets Start Here. cover works is because the distortion in the faces give an inhuman feel and takes full advantage of the uncanny valley to give you a visceral reaction to the executives on top of any intellectual distaste. Imagine the same album but a normal picture or painting. Not even close to the same impact
Next you should include LCD Soundsystem self titled, grouptherapy IWMFMABIWSAC, By the Time I get to Phoenix, OXygen by Matt Ox and Emmanuel by DeeDaVamp
The SZA cover is horrible just for the fact that she said she wanted to recreate the isolation and loneliness that Diana showed but her posture shows the exact opposite lol she’s like sitting there proud and smiling
I wish the Bobby Caldwell niece story was the case but im pretty sure the actual story was that he had originally intended to use a regular picture of himself as the album cover but he was told that if people knew he was white no one would listen to it so instead he used a different picture of himself that he really liked and had it edited to look like that
Don't really like supertramp, for reasons I can't quite pin down, honestly. The Logical Song alone justifies them having existed, and is amazing though. It's queued up to play next
Love when you open up the windows for different lighting to make people think you guys have a new camera. Dignan told me to say this, please let me see my kids again.
Thos was great. Next time you do something like this could you also add the artist name and album title with the artwork? It would just make it easier to follow
The fact that they put Her Loss and Let’s Start Here in the same tier is wilddd. Let’s start here is such a great album cover conceptually and it’s oddly beautiful.
i love both albums, but the let's start here album cover should ABSOLUTELY be an F. it's terrible and lazy. im not huge on the her loss cover but it's pretty good at least
