    Nice one Steve! I repaired my dad's Tape Recorder a Philips 4407, that was about 30 years ago. At the time it only needed new belts. They were not so easy to get because no internet ofcourse so we had to go to parts stores. You can imagine. Recently I had to repair it again, it was much easier te get new belts although I needed 2 sets of different belt sets. And during the first test after I replaced the belts I heard a bang. It happened to be an capacitor that had exploded. I didn't realise that the tape recorder was already more then 50 years old!

    hi steve, good explaining in the diagram and a very good service repair there sir..
    nice machine that and as i remember in when i was at radio nottingham on my course work they had a rack with 4 of these type of tape reels and a couple of the large version sony and sat in the corner was a great big 16 track ££££.. past days avent not been well with my diabeties inwhich didnt help my anxitey.. keep on going.THank you. jim

      The World Record series of tapes don’t have a copyright symbol on them…..
