What a fun little spot out back of your place. I reckon if I was a young fella growing up around there, I wouldn't be hanging around the house much. What a cool place for a kid to roam.

We are from Sydney but have been travelling the top end for the last 20years mainly the Kimberley chasing Barra and when Covid came we escaped to Darwin and lived there for 3 months And have been back every year .I have rented a serviced apartment in town for the moment till we find a house looking in the Northern beaches area. Thanks for the warm welcome to your Chanel and to the NT Regards Geoff
@geoffgold6773 Hi again Geoff! Oh wow that’s a huge change from Sydney, right? We think moving is always incredibly brave! Loving how you escaped to Darawin during Covid…we felt like we didn’t have to change our ways much whilst the rest of the world got shut down. It was eerie having to do the distancing at Woolies but we were the least affected up here, weren’t we? 😊 We have been in the Kimberleys chasing barra too (but only for the past seven years). What were your favourites? We’d love to hear your stories if you have been doing that for twenty years! We have so many more to learn. We loved Arnhemland prior to discovering the magic of the Kimberleys! Our values must be so aligned! 😊. Do you like mud crabbing too? The houses in the northern beaches will offer nice, quiet areas whilst being so close to the shopping centre. You will find the right one, for sure. Let’s keep connected and we hope to see you in the water too!! 😊
Probably my most memorable fishing spot in the Kimberley’s is the Wallcot inlet but it’s not a place to go for the faint hearted on the change of tide eddys can be 25m in diameter but this the place for the hardest fighting Barra you ever come across. First cast 102cm he headed straight for the eddy’s where he sat in the current for 20min before I could get her to the surface over the next 2 days caught 50 Barra smallest being a 96cm.How we found this place is we had parked the mothership behind an island for the night one of the guides asked if anybody wanted to come for an explore and a fish just remember that in 2007 know charter boat had ever stop there.over next 10 years the owner of the 24m Kimberley Quest was able navigate the boat some 20km down the inlet. At the end of inlet it becomes the isdale and the Calder rivers which are fresh From what I have been told Malcom Douglas did a expedition there but came in overland
@geoffgold6773 Are you in Darwin now, Geoff?? sorry for the delay, Geoff. Your message was filtered in a different inbox. We have often wanted to go there and Ricky confirmed we couldn’t nowadays as it’s a marine park now. That is an amazing experience you’ve had!!!! We have fished Secure Bay which is next to Walcott! Ricky caught a 1.07m there. It was unreal but your experience would have been spectacular indeed! We had an amazing fishing session in Strickland and Cone Bay - this is one of our favourites! ua-cam.com/video/Hb9BSg0_tLU/v-deo.htmlsi=G-TX1WkIsYnHjh6Q
