Hi! Just came across this video and it is exactly what I needed to see how changing the bulb works. I am curious, you mention pulling the light above water to change the LED bulb assembly, are there no issues leaving the housing in the side wall open? Also, my pool / lights are ~11 years old, I am not so sure the plastic screws holding the cover in will survive the bulb replacement. Are there stainless replacements available? Thanks for the information. I have a PAL 2T light that stays dimly lit, blue in color. Can this change be made under water or should I lower the level below the light? Thanks.
I'm much like some of the others on here. I have the Pal Treo 2T2 two wire lights installed in 2019 and it looks like one of my bulbs has failed, the colors change but they're off color. The instructions that were included with my lights says to drain the pool below the lights to change the bulb and then I see the video of this guy pulling the flight fixture up above the waterline with a two foot coiled cord to change it. I would love to be able to do what this guy did and not drain the pool to change the light. but I have concerns. If this lamp fixture actually just screws out of the pool fitting with a two foot coiled cord why would they not mention that in the included documentation. In my search for an answer I found a very well produced video animation from Pal lighting that illustrates exactly what this guy did on his video , unscrewing the fixture and lifting it above the water line to change the bulb. So which way is correct? On one hand I have this UA-cam video and another one from Pal Lighting illustrating the above water method and then there's the printed documentation that tells me I need to drain to drain the pool. I called Pal Lighting and spoke to a nice lady who at first seemed well informed but at the end of the conversation she couldn't tell me which way was correct and she wasn't sure if my light fixture unscrewed with a coiled cord. After going around in circles for a time until finally she admitted she didn't know and was going to have to pass this on to one of her engineers for a answer but he was off that day and I would have to call back. I thought " a senior engineer for this" anyway I told her thanks but I'll figure it out, but I really haven't. My lights are the two wire Pal Treo 2T2 with the color lamp. You would think that would be a simple question for the manufacturer but apparently not. I'm going to remove the lens cover and try to see if the fixture will twist and come out and if I detect too much resistance I'm going to drain her down. It sure would be nice to know what I'm dealing with going in instead of doing this by the seat of my pants.
I cant seem to find anything to replace my light that broke by the ice. All i have for info is powerite LAU-2 for bulb and pal 2000 on cover. The niche is broken as well. Wet niche Is there a way to get the right part number for the whole assembly
Anyone else have a problem unscrewing the light assembly from the wall? I'm worried to turn it any harder, like with a tool, for fear it might break the cover. I'm a new pool owner and the lights have been in there for 6-8 years. Are their version of Pal that don't screw in or is this thing just stuck from age?
@@benjaminsides8026 I gave up trying to turn mine. I'm certain it was cemented in there. I think the only way to change mine is to lower the water and fix without pulling out of the wall.
I think you forgot to say put the screws back in above water level before putting it back in its niche.

Do you have to drain until the light is well out of water
I didn't know it twisted off. I opened it under water to see what it looked like. What happens if I get it wet? How do I check if it's still good?

57-330-1112 is the repair kit, it comes with a new bulb.
What will fiber stars send? The actual replacement bulb? For free?

Mine doesn’t seem to unscrew from the wall. I’m wondering if water in the fixture is really an issue.
