My bro in law took this one off of my hands and he has pretty much gotten effortless brisket down to a science in it. Good luck with the purchase. I do wish I would have gotten the bigger cylinder one tho. Tha KS for watching!
Have you ever tried the minon method? You add charcoal inlet than white a few calls in the chimney and then dump on top then regulate your temperature until you hit your peak preferred. You should be good
Thanks for the input Gary! I have tried minion method with this cooker. I don't cook on it hardly at all at this point. In fact it store my unused charcoal bags. But this thing as is has leaks and it is virtually impossible (for me at least) to stabilize the temp, keeping it from swinging wildly without a water pan. It is a neat little cooker but in my experience not plug and play ready. Someone that likes to mod would have a field day with this. I do like it for poultry, the skin turns out nice and crisp.
Hell yeah ... the standard speed limit should be 80 mph .. but anyways people drive to slow and then you try to pass them and all of a sudden they try to speed it makes no sense ... just go that speed to begin with... I can't stand it .. people need to start getting tickets for driving to slow .. it causes car accidents
It really doesn't make sense for people to speed up when you try passing them for driving slower than the flow of traffic. Not sure where you are in the world, but here in OH if you turn your blinker on to merge into a lane people go out of their way to speed up so you can't get in front of them as well. Smh I try not to drive if I don't have to.
@@dsquebackyardbbq217 i grew up In Los Angeles and the number of stupid drivers is just insane ... but I lived in Texas Montana New Mexico and now back in California.. and California and Nevada drivers are really bad .. the speed limits in the other states at least the highways or most roads out of the cities are 80 to 100 mph .. I miss it
Thank you for checking it out. I try to capture what us unprofessional folks will experience when unboxing these things for the 1st time. The water pan made all the difference in the world. I will admit that due to all of my other cookers I haven't cooked on this one since then. If you have any tips please leave them in comments. Other peoples tips on other vids have helped viewers a bunch.
That is 100% true. Ambient temp probes along the grates are helpful for those that just need to know the exact temp. They would be pretty useful for this cooker especially if you aren't using a waterpan because for me it tends to spike a bit when cooking with a dry chamber.
I appreciate ya! I've used to stabilize temps in the wsm, but I have never seen it have such a huge impact on temps like it did with this!! I am stubborn though. I have to get it under control at least 1 time without the water. There will be plenty of burnt food between now and the next few months. If I am bold enough I will post a quick slide of the fails lol. I really appreciate the love and you stopping by today. I've been out of the loop for a little bit.
Hey D! First off.......Wings looked terrific! 👍👍 You know I've had my eye on this Pit for a couple years, well the larger version, but I go back to it and say.....I could tame that Beast! :-) Then I kinda forget about it.......But I do think it has possibilities because of it'd vertical design and the space it has. I think you are on the right track in your thinking and using that water pan was a big help! Looking at the holes between the fire box and cook chamber, I thought that it came with a deflector shield that angled down to help with heat distribution? Maybe that's the larger one? Anyway....you are having fun and that's what matters, and the Que is good! Are You familiar with the channel....KIRBQ? He has one of these and he may have some advice for you. He's Cool! 👍 Smoke On My Brother! \m/
Seriously the Bronco is my favorite at this point. I have the pro and strongly considered getting 1 or 2 more and replacing some of the experimental cookers that I bought.
@@masaigeraghty3525 its actually an Oklahoma Joe product. It is their version of a UDS. You mentioned OKJ and I figured that I would throw that suggestion out their. A buddy of mine does have their drum offset and he loves it.
@@masaigeraghty3525 you are the 2nd person to bring up old country smokers recently. I dont know much about that brand but from the quick search them seem very solid and very well made.
Hey D! Careful...those Grannies be Packin' these days! Cracking' Me Up....Shenanigans! LLLLL. I gotta go.....I'll finish watching tomorrow! I like that Pit....but it needs some work! \m/
I'll tell you, I wouldnt be surprised if she was! There doesnt seem to be consecutive days where something weird doesnt happen in my life. This thing could stand to be a bit bigger and thicker. I am going to start off with some gaskets to see if that helps with the temp swings. I want to control it w/o water in order to feel good about myself lol. After that I may play with a deflector plate and look at a sleeve for the chamber. Jury is still out on that though.
Going to buy one of these. Just remove some grates for more space. Great wings

Best video I seen on this thing staying way too hot. I experienced the same thing.

Don’t focus too much on that thermometer cause it’s not going to the same heat at every point in that cooker
