How do you price your work?
@@Blessed2354 just from experience and knowing how long a job will take me. Sometimes they do take longer than expected and sometimes they go quicker. It’s all a gamble when your not doing hourly pay.
Man's so used to eyeball measuring everything he goes to eyeball trim... cmon man! You have a tape measure for a reason, it's not that hard to use! :)
@@MSeroga I was in the moment playa! just going with the flow 😂😂😂
@@thedrywalltech Ahhh alright alright... As someone who did finish carpentry for many years that one hurt, 3 times to get 1 piece right lol, but it's ok I'll let it slide this one! haha
What about priming before painting?
@@chapoguzman7830 I do prime if it’s a full install job “full walls or ceilings” or water damage patches where there could be water stains. Otherwise patches like this if your use a paint and primer in one it’s fine as long as you do a couple coats .
Im gonna use 20 since i dont know what im doin 😂
@@gingymartinez4552 it’s all good man! I was trained on 5 min from my dad and cousin which I’ve realized over the years is not normal 😂
Do you have to be licensed to do repairs like this?
@@edwardelric8354 depends on your state . In Texas you didn’t need a license but in AZ where I am now you do but at the same time here in AZ you can do up to $1000 without a license. So yes and no for the license . All depends on your state .
Man whoever plumbed that could’ve done a better job. Didn’t even add nail plates let alone make the box straight
@@zohebthayer see it all the time man. Good eye on the details 👌🏼
If theyre just starting out, I dont see why 20 minute is a big deal.
@@MiikeWiild oh it’s not at all👍🏼It’s more for the guys that come to work for me that have been at it for years and years and say they can’t use 5. I don’t buy it 😂
@@thedrywalltech Makes sense, thanks for the content man.
So based on this pricing assuming he just drywalled about 3sqft of drywall it would cost roughly 1.2 million to drywall a 1600 sqft house witch would be around 6000 sqft of drywall 🤣
With that logic if a mechanic charges 600 for to repair a specific car part the car should cost a million dollars? because there are 1,600 parts in a car?
You clearly don’t understand that a drywall repair is a specialty, very skilled kind of repair that requires almost artistic judgment to blend and match surfaces…
@ not at all. Drywall work is not a skill. Very simple work but of course you think it’s brain surgery

Where’s this video on how to Skip trowel? I’m redoing my pantry and building up a butlers pantry but need to learn skip trowel
Coming my man! Been sick for a week and my voice has been shot! I would say to watch my other $350 in 1 hour. That one has skip trowel for the stress cracks 🤙🏼
Will take a look, thanks G

@ no worries man, just make sure your mud isn’t to thick, knife isn’t to bent(straighter the better ) and light pressure when your skipping across the wall
600 is kinda high... But then again I have seen prices of 600 bucks for a HVAC guy to install a furnace board in 5 min. Work looks good, and the fact that you don't wait to come back tomorrow to let mud dry is really nice.
@@TheItalianStallion13 Yeah you got to remember I also picked up the paint match , baseboard, new insulation, and had all necessary tools to do every aspect . Most guys would just do that drywall repair for $300 $350 and be out . Then leave the homeowner calling a handyman or someone else to do the rest. Appreciate the comment brotha !
More like 900+ for all that
@@mofoz66 Yea I live in Washington State... we would easily charge 1.5k or 2k for something like that. Then again we would prime that wall, paint it 2 times not once... cut the base to match like it was before and not jam it in there... You don't cut OG base inside corners at 90 degrees and just shove them in there lol. Oh and we don't do skip trowel here which saves you 1 or 2 coats of mudding seeing as it can hide so much. The end result was decent but clearly the customer didn't care seeing as it got hidden behind the appliances.
@@MSeroga are you splitting it in two days or or doing it all in one day?
@@mofoz66 splitting. It doesn’t always work out but I at times have multiple jobs like this so when there’s downtime and I’m waiting for primer to dry or a coat of mud, I go to the other job. Different parts of US have different codes and different standards. We also have different living expenses. So $600 in AZ is different than $600 in Cali for example.
Need to fix the angle of your camera. Staring more at the ground than on the nice work you were doing.
Yeah I hear ya! Getting the hang of this as I move along to each video. Appreciate you watching 🤙🏼
Your camera work makes me dizzy
@@jasnapon yeah I wouldn’t really call this camera work, it’s just an iPhone strapped to my neck 😂. Your probably dizzy from me having to speed it up. If I don’t speed it up it would be an hour long video.
Why not use a go pro with a head strap?
@ go pro kept overheating on the last job. So wanted to try this out. Looking for different mounts as we speak.
Not complaining on quality of work . $600 for 2 hours work is a rip off. Just because you can doesn’t make it right.
@@inekejansen212 been doing this work everyday for 15 years. My whole family does this and I’ve learned many tricks and techniques to makes this process go quicker. Instead of 20 or 40 min I use 5 min. Instead of waiting hours to sand I can wet sand In minutes after applying mud Instead of coming back for two trips I do it in one because I use a fan to dry it and I never stop moving. I had a list of materials in this job including , insulation, drywall, screws, wood, paint roller, plastic , tape, mesh tape, paint , nails, 5 min mud, all purpose mud and gas to go the paint store and Home Depot. The home owners were so happy that they got to get their washer and dryer back in the same day it was a win win all around. And I’m not kidding I did a job at their neighbors the following day and got a good review from both of them. But thank you for watching 🤙🏼🤙🏼🤙🏼
You have no idea how many years it has taken him to master this to make it look so easy.
I just watched the rest of this video. He patched, taped, textured, trimmed, and painted for $600. They got a deal. I would have charged these people more than $600 for this.
$600 is a damn good deal
