What a gorgeous quilt! The hours, love and creativity, the problem solving, patience and productivity...something she will cherish. I understand her wanting the weight of the quilt, wraps around you snuggly. My Grandma's quilts did too. I made my daughter a crazy quilt from clothes she wore in college, plus fabric scraps & purchased cottons & velvets, laces & buttons with embroidery. Overall colours were darks, blacks & burgundy with black pointe du chene backing from my Mother's fabric stash. Mine took 20 years to complete for her 50th birthday. You did very well. Congratulations!

Such a beautiful quilt you did. How on earth did you sew the pieces together in regards to the silk, satin , and other fabrics ? I have lots of silk and satin material I have cut from wedding dresses but have not had the courage to sew them on a sewing machine. Can you tell me how you did it? size needle in machine, and thread ?
That is FABULOUS. I hope your daughter knows how blessed she is to have you as her mother!
she tolerated me LOL!
