Hey, Goku Black, one of my favorite characters. It's too bad I just suck at Super Counter, so I have to play hyperaggro on him to get wins. BTW, the game determines hard knockdown if: >You have an attack that forces it(Death Beam, aka, "Piercing Attacks") >You took "Exhaustive" damage and you are forced into a knockdown. You know if you are "Exhausted" if you trigger a dialog from them(around 50% Health down). >You are in "Critical" condition(25% health) and you either broke a combo off from 2 repeated Special Finishers, Aerial Assault or pushed from a Rush Finish after 20 hits. The opponent can choose to rush you back with a special recovery, but this is not considered a "Dragon Dash", so if you buffer a Super, you just hit them back into a Hard Knockdown anyways. Good video, like always!
Super counters take some practice, but even with practice, the connection between different players is different so even then I can’t always do them. Which is why I haven’t been using them as much these days And ohhhhh, that’s good to know!! I’ll start looking out for these cues and see if I can take advantage of them! That bit where you demonstrate with a real match how to do short sequences and to abuse lift strike / sweep against people that are likely trying to mash super counter is so important. If I would have to guess tons of people are frustrated by their combos always getting interrupted by super counter but they don't apply this. Also dunno if you've tried unfused 5DP Zamasu but he can also zone people out in a similar way to Rose but he has better skills IMO. I bet you could whoop some Gogetas with him too
Yeah I can imagine, everyone knows how super counters are so commonly used in combos, but aren’t aware how to reduce the chances of being countered. Hopefully this helps out people a lot! Yeah I’ve used him before, he’s very strong! Another top tier character! Gogeta wouldn’t stand a chance 😎
@ nahhh, it’s definitely easier to just vanish in my opinion, but it’s nice having the option to dodge it if you sometimes get caught in a side step Because you can still get caught by the super if you don’t dodge at the correct time (between the side step and dodge animation I think), so it’s more tricky
I have actually tried, but in all honesty, he’s not that good, they gave him all buffs for skills, and one of them is SUPER expensive, in singles he’s kinda unreasonable, he has no defensive tools, so you basically have to play perfectly, or get completely decimated. The only good thing about him is his 2 bar super :/
Realistically it would just be whoever I wanted to play, I think it’s better to play whoever you want to play and enjoy it. But I guess I can suggest you adding a character that can heal as well that’s pretty strong, so someone like Zamasu would be good. Then you’d have 3 DP left, so you can either add a 2 DP character and Hercule, or a 3DP character

People sleep on Goku black. Ive tried to not run OP characters like beerus, whis and any other fusion characters. For me its Ultimate Gohan, Golden Frieza, SSR Goku Black, Bardock and Burter. Once I get the timing down, I don’t use Wild sense cause once i get the counter attack, it’s over.
I wouldn’t say he’s slept on, personally. I think most people have acknowledged his greatness since the game dropped. He just gets outdone in the meta by that damn UI auto dodge.

He really is! 😌 and when you’re doing the super dragon dash, you press your guard button (you can press it repeatedly and choose the direction)

If you wanted to play a character like base Gogeta in DP battles how would your thought process be around deciding the rest of the team?
Realistically it would just be whoever I wanted to play, I think it’s better to play whoever you want to play and enjoy it.
