Well seeing as how you guys are going to tell everyone of my secrets here’s a rigging tip use a bobber stop in between Your weight and hook it helps keep your knot protected so when you hook a big fish I don’t snap you’re knot
Typically you are using lighter line and a small hook with the Free rig. The presentation has more of a vertical, free-falling orientation when compared to the action of an un-pegged Texas rig.
Yeah. I guess that is why Tim over at Tactical Bassin uses it. You better check your knot tying skills. Reads like something is going on with line or knots.😅
Hey guys thanks for blowing this up on Cayuga..appreciate it
Thank you Cody, Jared, and TW.
Definitely going to try out the Free Rig and thanks to the other comments about using a bobber stop.
I will definitely be trying this out in the Spring.

I am not a drop shot fan but this is something I am going to try.
Going to need to try the free rig.
The free-rig originated in Korea not Japan.
You need to add a bobber stop so the weight doesn't hit your knot. You can also adjust the lead like a carolina rig.
Great video thanks for the info.
Glad it was helpful!
"keep on rocking with the free rig"🎶
So other than the skinny drop shot weight, what's the difference between the "Free Rig" and an unpegged Texas Rig?
