You inspired me to start skating as well. I started learning when I was younger with a cheap retail board but gave up. Then I got a longboard a few years ago and just went only on straight paths because it didn't have a kick. After finding your channel, you inspired me to get an actual skate board so 2 weeks ago, I custom built one at Active and it was $149. It honestly wasn't a bad price, and I honestly love it more than a longboard. I did get soft wheels to start out with tho.
Best way is to start skating is with a complete hands down. As you skate and wear your parts down, buy as you go to replace. Wheels get worn down? Buy wheels. Deck is cracked? Buy a deck. My dad is into bikes and I wanted to start skateboarding and my dad asked them and they said the boards they had where cheaper then the brand names and where good for starting and if I got really into I could always get a better board else where down the line. Honestly the truest thing I have ever heard. When starting its best to not go all out on board and just learn to ride so you know if skateboarding is your thing, basic lowering the amount you would have wasted if it ended up you did like or couldn't get into it. The boards they have aka gold dragon where way better than Walmart boards but where below average and the price reflected that. I did end up getting a better board recently and I've always wanted to put my own together grip tape and all. That's why I built my own. Also I wanted a Dr.Suss board and those where not available as complete. I got a green eggs and ham almost board, random metal trucks, independent hardware, spitfire classics 52mm wheels, Bones red barings. I got it all on skate-warehouse.com. They have a cool thing where it has a spot for each part you need for a board, click the part select the product to go there and build a skate board on the site pretty much. They give you a slight discount for buying a whole board from them. Also you can select to have them build it for you for free but you cannot return any of the parts and if anything happens to it its on you. I only have one skate shop near me and its small and the staff is always really rude so I just bought online instead.
Dude im glad that you got a new lens, and understand the enjoyment of a shallow dof on 1.8 aperture, but please switch to a higher aperture number for videos. Everything is out of focus and that is annoying.
hey man. you inspired me to start skateboarding, however, i only cruise, so im not sure what to get. also the sidewalks are quite narrow so idk if i shouldnt get a cruiser (which i personally find quite uncomfortable) or, what im considering, a longboard.
Same over here, I ended up buying a crusier (a skate like, not a little penny like) because for me longboards are too big and heavy, a way more hard to carry around, and it seems it's better for down road and all that crazy things longboarders do. It's up to personal opinions, but I'm struggling with the crusier (maybe cos I never learn how to do bicycle or stuff and I have horrible space sence and balance), maybe I should had to bought a longboard with the wheel aside the truck, it seems more steady. I picked up a crusier mainly because I want to maybe do ollies, or sometime buy a skateboard for tricks, so maybe I will feel less the change if I end up buying a skateboard for tricks. But if you are still unsure I have seen longboards that are more like crusiers, shorter and with tail, and gosh they are soo many shapes xD, it's very hard to pick one. But if you are a begginer and don't mind a heavy board I think that a longboard is better
My first skateboard is a firefly from intersport...its a 30€ board and now i might change to fidget spinner bearings cause the original bearings don't even roll and the best part I think its a 7 size its pretty small and pretty wide
@@iBehalez i swear its wider and as i said,it costed 30€ so its far far away from anything but skateboarding.the one who built it probably has no idea about skateboards
Itachi Uchiha honestly, for your first skate shoe if you can't afford real ones, try to find some shoes second hand and pre shoe goo where you ollie and stuff
I've been skating for a while now, and recently got into learning tricks. I've been having issues with my Ollie in the sense that I land with my board perpendicular to the direction I took off. I'm getting the height, but lack consistency due to this issue. Any advice?
Alright, whew.... I'm really waxed, so I'm going to get way into it. Little background first, I'm from the U.S.. Texas actually, about quarter million people where I live. I'm old, like 42 old, so I do have a bit of disposable income. Even than I do watch my money. But I have to admit, I spend more than most on skating. That being said. I've started getting 5 packs of blanks for about 80 bucks shipped. They are definitely heavier than the other decks I get. Where I live we have 2 local shops, neither one has a selection of more than 20 branded decks, one does sell shop decks for 40 bucks, still twice what I pay for blanks. Both shops have standard Indy and tensor trucks, for less than at the mall.( Idk). At the mall there is the Vans store, that also sells boards, dwindle completes and a decent selection of other brands. Now, the hated mall store, of which we will not speak it's name..... They do have the most selection of anyone else in town. And they even know your name when you walk in. If you play your cards right, you can get an employee discount. BUT, it's still gonna be EXPENSIVE......53 bucks for a deck, 50 for Indy's, 40 for thunders or tensors, stfs, or f4s, 33 bucks, ojs, clouds, atfs, 35 bucks. Reds, 18 bucks, g2s, 20,grip 8 bucks some Shorty's hardware,2 bucks....like 150 bucks... probably get 20, 30 bucks off...say 125.... don't get me wrong, this will be a fucking awesome set up....BUT.... You can get a Black enjoy panda complete for 59.99. if u look. Can get a blind complete for 59.99... if u really look. And for ten bucks more you can get A LOT of blinds, almosts, enjois, completes with tensors, and matching, decent wheels.... shit I just ordered 2 almost completes, one a Black dark Knight, for 73 bucks, and a Black joker ( killing joke), for 70...free 2 day shipping, no tax....it's kinda hard to beat that.... Late....
My set up: numbers 8.5, jessup(they were out of mob, smh), shortys silverado, indi trucks, classic spitfires, reds. It was like $175 but that's like the best setup you can possibly have in my opinion and those trucks/bearings are gonna last for a long time
Enjoi deck: size 8 (accidentally got meant to get 7.75) trucks: royal size 7.75 bearings: spitfire cheapshots used to have reds wheels: bone 100 around 100$
my first board, my dad stole for me, in a very wealthy zone, a kid left it in the middle of the road and dad took it for me since we couldn't afford one :( but thank to him I started skating so I owe him everything
Word from the wise.....Krooked decks are a good shape, tough and only $40! They're all that I skate now. Lots of complete boards have a really poor shaped and heavy 8 ply deck. Not good to learn on 😊
I wouldn't recommend buying a complete however if you do buy and complete try and get a feel for it and for your next deck try to adjust it like if you don't like how heavy the board is get thunder trucks or if it's too light get independent trucks
I've been trying to figure out if I should get a pre-built or own-built for over a month now, and I still can't decide. All I want to do is start skating, why must there be so many options?!?!
Building your own board is always better. Might not be as cheap, but you get what you want. So you love your board more and it encourages you to skate more!
my first set up was a Powell Peralta XT Tommy Guerrero Dagger with Tracker Trucks and Oj Slimeball wheels and yes im old AF im 47. with rib bones It was Hot Pink and It cost about $145-150 for everything. That was the only board that didnt break it had the 2 layers of foam between the 7plys of maple no nose kicks think it was 1987
I started out building my own board and its not hard to make ur own board at all thanks to a friend who skates he told me a good skateshop which sells quality stuff cheeper than others
Bought a complete for 80 or 90 euros I think, changed bearings to reds, so it's pretty good now, but now the board is losing its shape after couple of months of skating. So get a complete, change the bearings and maybe a board, everything else is insignificant.
Some people are not grateful and are upset when they get a Walmart skateboard for their first skateboard ever but I’m glad I got a Walmart skateboard because I found out that I loved skateboarding.

I always stay for the whole outro cause the tune is so chill :P

Wtf I found a rust UA-camr here
My screen went completely bad and I was still watching just hearing stuff and I thought you was just being quiet but then I rewinded and now it’s fine
Dude im glad that you got a new lens, and understand the enjoyment of a shallow dof on 1.8 aperture, but please switch to a higher aperture number for videos.
Everything is out of focus and that is annoying.
Vladislav Serenko stop being so picky
Pancake Man554 stop defending him against actually legitimate criticism.

You didn’t inspire me to skate but you inspire me to go out and skate
Mine was $140 from zumies June 8th 2018
It was built in front of me
Poser
Noah Rodriguez lmao
Joaquin Rodriguez why is he a poser
Joaquin Rodriguez he probably doesnt have a skate shop near him
Same it was a complete because zumiez is the nearest skate shop
I got my first penny board and ever since I got it I have been watching your video's thank you so much for the tricks please do more!
Penny boards aren't skateboards they fucking suck
Penny boards r for posers
hey man. you inspired me to start skateboarding, however, i only cruise, so im not sure what to get. also the sidewalks are quite narrow so idk if i shouldnt get a cruiser (which i personally find quite uncomfortable) or, what im considering, a longboard.
BubbleJetzz practicing to ollie on grass is a bad idea
BubbleJetzz on grass the board pops much less making it harder and could possibly start some bad habits.
I actually just started skateboarding and I also love to just cruise. I have a normal skateboard though
Slorky I have a cruiser and a normal board 😂
You actually were a big influence in me being really interested in starting to skate thanks!
My first skateboard is a firefly from intersport...its a 30€ board and now i might change to fidget spinner bearings cause the original bearings don't even roll and the best part
I think its a 7 size its pretty small and pretty wide
A 7 isnt wide that's the smallest size you can find
@@iBehalez i know but its wider than most of the boards at my neighborhood.everyone has a 8 or bigger but mine is wider than most of them
How though? If you have a 7 and its wider than the people with 8s, it makes no sense
@@iBehalez i swear its wider and as i said,it costed 30€ so its far far away from anything but skateboarding.the one who built it probably has no idea about skateboards
For the first one I think it means build your own custom board. Not one that’s already built but still, sick vid 🤙
This content is sooo gold 😭
I’m not saying this just cuz other people said it but you actually inspired me to learn my first Olie and now I love skating❤️❤️ thank you💝
It’s my birthday today I’m so happy you posted

My first board is an old Walmart board I found in the garage, bought new trucks, wheels, and bearings for it and now it actually skates alright.
Now i need a skate shoe 😂 I have my first complete almost joker justice league board and im loving skating skated for around a week now
Itachi Uchiha honestly, for your first skate shoe if you can't afford real ones, try to find some shoes second hand and pre shoe goo where you ollie and stuff
I got a skate bcs of u and today I learnt a cool way to acid jump on my board and I imrooved my tic tacs a lot
Fucking hell, that Casey burn tho 🌚
I've been skating for a while now, and recently got into learning tricks. I've been having issues with my Ollie in the sense that I land with my board perpendicular to the direction I took off. I'm getting the height, but lack consistency due to this issue. Any advice?
um this was 4 years ago so you prob got it down by now, no?

Lasangra _ I had a target board
The one I recently purchased was around $110 with bones reds, bones 100, filmbot grip, and CCS deck
It was like $175 but that's like the best setup you can possibly have in my opinion and those trucks/bearings are gonna last for a long time
Brian L swiss last longer than reds
Why classics over formula fours?
Enjoi deck: size 8 (accidentally got meant to get 7.75) trucks: royal size 7.75 bearings: spitfire cheapshots used to have reds wheels: bone 100 around 100$
Hello, Brian L
N i k o s i m those are overkill
my first board, my dad stole for me, in a very wealthy zone, a kid left it in the middle of the road and dad took it for me since we couldn't afford one :( but thank to him I started skating so I owe him everything
What about skatetool a new skateboarder doesnt have one of those. Good video though
Vilgot Belfrage a shop does, or you can use your dad's toolbox, or you can buy one yourself for 10 dollars
Vilgot Belfrage sub to me and I will sub back
Dude I’m 12 and because of this video I’m finally gonna try my hand at skateboarding
hes a lefty :(
jk love u bruno
but he is goofy
I’m left handed but I ride regular
Gaming Nation ok and... Almost everyone who is left handed is regular I’m a righty so I’m goofy
are most right handed people really goofy? I'm right handed but I couldn't skate goofy if my life depended on it
Gaming Nation same
Word from the wise.....Krooked decks are a good shape, tough and only $40! They're all that I skate now.
Lots of complete boards have a really poor shaped and heavy 8 ply deck. Not good to learn on 😊
My first board was a Walmart complete Now I have a Santa Cruz deck independent trucks reds bearings spitfire wheels and idk grip
I wouldn't recommend buying a complete however if you do buy and complete try and get a feel for it and for your next deck try to adjust it like if you don't like how heavy the board is get thunder trucks or if it's too light get independent trucks
Can someone tell me: should i buy a prebuilt cruiser or custom
My first board was a £50 complete. I still have it and it's not that bad for a first board. My current board is about £193.
Skateboards cost way more for an own built then a complete in Canada 🇨🇦
Dude i Love your videos...wish you made more of them...
1:39 when you try to be funny but you can't
it was sarcasm
I've been trying to figure out if I should get a pre-built or own-built for over a month now, and I still can't decide. All I want to do is start skating, why must there be so many options?!?!
Very first board he.
thomas asselman sub to me and I will sub back
The only problem is that I don’t want the 52mm wheels that most completes come with. So, if I buy bigger wheels and risers I’m back up there in price.
Building your own board is always better. Might not be as cheap, but you get what you want. So you love your board more and it encourages you to skate more!
umm what kind of drugs was skateboard bruh on in the making of this video?
*counts on fingers* uhhh zero

my first set up was a Powell Peralta XT Tommy Guerrero Dagger with Tracker Trucks and Oj Slimeball wheels and yes im old AF im 47. with rib bones It was Hot Pink and It cost about $145-150 for everything. That was the only board that didnt break it had the 2 layers of foam between the 7plys of maple no nose kicks think it was 1987

I started out building my own board and its not hard to make ur own board at all thanks to a friend who skates he told me a good skateshop which sells quality stuff cheeper than others
If I get pined u Will quit scootering
Bought a complete for 80 or 90 euros I think, changed bearings to reds, so it's pretty good now, but now the board is losing its shape after couple of months of skating. So get a complete, change the bearings and maybe a board, everything else is insignificant.
Good Video And As Always Keep Shredding Bro😎
Thank you so much for inspiring me to start skating! My board broke and I can't afford a new one, what should I do?
Some people are not grateful and are upset when they get a Walmart skateboard for their first skateboard ever but I’m glad I got a Walmart skateboard because I found out that I loved skateboarding.
I use to skate when i was younger so ive been thinking of getting back into it. I still buy zooyork shoes too.
Ngl u got me into skating a bit with the Uber eats vids
Bruh full skateboards be expensive
Deck:$50
Truck:$50
Wheels:$30
Bearings:$20
Grip:$10
Hardware:$5
$165 for a log on wheels
You don't have to buy all name brand stuff
Yo where do u guys get cheap parts? Skate shops only have brand stuff
