It’s always fun to look at other people’s goodies. The journals are gorgeous. The shelves look so much better and because they are organized, more accessible. Watching you fight the desire to look at the journals as you moved them reminded me of an old Norman Rockwell cartoon showing a father and son sitting on stacks of National Geographic magazines with the caption stating something like “People who can read will never be able to clean an attic.”😋 Hugs.

I am so glad you shared this video, I have been journaling less than a year and am encoutaged that you have so many idea journals and daily journals. So fun, I actually began writing in a journal with the start of the New Year, books I read, quotes, favorite Bible verses and blessings. It will be full in no time. Excited to make another. I think that decluttering and reorganizing is never ending. What I’ve realized about myself is that I need things I use the most has to be near me. As my interests change, so does my organizational ideas change. Watching your reorg this morning, I had an idea for something that I knew needed changing but couldn’t figure out what to do. Now to go see if that will work for me.

One day your children will go through the journals you have made and written in and will understand more about you and they will look through your correspondence journals and see how much you are loved and how much you helped this community. They will pass along your journals to their children and they will pass to their children as they read your journals they will cherish them with fond memories and understanding of a time passed. One day there won’t be paper things like now this is in a way helping to preserve history. Hope you and Mike have a wonderful evening.

Hi Gayle. I am so jealous of your craftroom. You're putting things into storage where I am constantly organizing my stuff. A never ending battle for me. 😏 I have to label everything or I forget what is in a box, bag or container and I would have to label my shelves etc to remember what I put on them. If I don't I can't find things I know I have. And what I wouldn't give to have pretty things instead of utilitarian things for storage. Sigh. Anyway, great video. I come across a Dana & Cara video over the Christmas break and they mentioned the challenge, I had no idea you were taking part - it's awesome. What a wonderful treasure of journals - I love them! I’m sure you will be happy in your “old” years to reminisce as you page through them. I love, love those old books and you are right, not enough time. And, you have been so productive, but you do have a lot of stuff and many plans. That’s a good thing as we age! I wish I had come to this kind of thing earlier! I always love seeing the peeks of your room - it’s such a lovely, comfortable place to spend time. All the brick speaks to my steampunk soul, haha. So, as I was finishing it this morning, I realized you opened up the Xmas idea journal to a page that had the pocket/card I sent you the first year I started watching you. You accepted happy mail then. 😊 I remember sending the set, but forget how I made it. 😏 So, you will need to do that one sometime so I can learn how to make it again. I believe I used paint sample cards from Lowes. 😂 I just remember the pic had Santa leaving the girl with a bunny. I thought it was like you as a little girl & Santa left you a bunny coz he knew you loved them. I know I had fun making it, but I realize now I tied the bow upside down. In a hurry I think. So, feel free to fix that if you can. Gosh, that was I think 5 or 6 years ago when I sent that. Though I dont get on every day like I used to, you are still a very special friend to me & your videos have helped me to heal from some pretty tough stuff that was happening at that time. You are my long distant crafting soul sister, girl. A comfort, as I have no sisters, just 3 brothers. I have also moved around so much, too, with military life making me a nomad. It can get lonely. So, thank the dear Lord for YT & someone like you brave enough to share your talents. Its been fun! 😊 We wanted to live in MT, but decided its too far from my family. So, it'll be Missouri, a halfway point for both our families & closer to coming up to MT on vacation with the RV to hopefully stay longer. We truly loved that area & I'd love another chance to meet. Gayle, what a tremendous shelf of love and rememberances. You WILL enjoy looking through those letters and cards in your retired years. BUT like our childrens things that linger forever at our homes, sometimes, THEY GOTTA GO. 🥰 Some 125 years down the road a crafter may find your hundreds of journals and be as ecstatic as we are when we find vintage, handwritten notes and recipes. Space to store your current creative journals is a much better use of your precious space. I cleared out my shed a couple years ago. I used to have large family Halloween, Easter , KY Derby, Fourth of July parties. I had tubs of decorations for each of those events. I pitched or donated all of those. My mess of a garage is my next project 👀😜

Love watching you organize! I’m doing the clean up/organizing too. I’ve made a lot of progress but slow going. Sorted all my shoe boxes which was monumental!. My sewing area is improving but the journal area needs so much more work. Keep it up!

Hi Gayle. I am so jealous of your craftroom. You're putting things into storage where I am constantly organizing my stuff. A never ending battle for me. 😏 I have to label everything or I forget what is in a box, bag or container and I would have to label my shelves etc to remember what I put on them. If I don't I can't find things I know I have. And what I wouldn't give to have pretty things instead of utilitarian things for storage. Sigh. Anyway, great video. What a wonderful treasure of journals - I love them! I’m sure you will be happy in your “old” years to reminisce as you page through them. I love, love those old books and you are right, not enough time. And, you have been so productive, but you do have a lot of stuff and many plans. That’s a good thing as we age! I wish I had come to this kind of thing earlier! I always love seeing the peeks of your room - it’s such a lovely, comfortable place to spend time. All the brick speaks to my steampunk soul, haha. P.S. I had started watching your video late last night, but couldn't finish it. So, as I was finishing it this morning, I realized you opened up the Xmas idea journal to a page that had the pocket/card I sent you the first year I started watching you. You accepted happy mail then. 😊 I remember sending the set, but forget how I made it. 😏 So, you will need to do that one sometime so I can learn how to make it again. I believe I used paint sample cards from Lowes. 😂 I just remember the pic had Santa leaving the girl with a bunny. I thought it was like you as a little girl & Santa left you a bunny coz he knew you loved them. I know I had fun making it, but I realize now I tied the bow upside down. In a hurry I think. So, feel free to fix that if you can. Gosh, that was I think 5 or 6 years ago when I sent that. Though I dont get on every day like I used to, you are still a very special friend to me & your videos have helped me to heal from some pretty tough stuff that was happening at that time. You are my long distant crafting soul sister, girl. A comfort, as I have no sisters, just 3 brothers. I have also moved around so much, too, with military life making me a nomad. It can get lonely. So, thank the dear Lord for YT & someone like you brave enough to share your talents. Its been fun! 😊 We wanted to live in MT, but decided its too far from my family. So, it'll be Missouri, a halfway point for both our families & closer to coming up to MT on vacation with the RV to hopefully stay longer. We truly loved that area & I'd love another chance to meet. Some 125 years down the road a crafter may find your hundreds of journals and be as ecstatic as we are when we find vintage, handwritten notes and recipes.
Space to store your current creative journals is a much better use of your precious space. I cleared out my shed a couple years ago. I used to have large family Halloween, Easter , KY Derby, Fourth of July parties. I had tubs of decorations for each of those events. I pitched or donated all of those. My mess of a garage is my next project 👀😜
