CASSIUS PRIME AND BRUTUS PRIME TERMINAL ENTRY
As the Father judged betrayal to be the worst sin in one’s life, he made the layer to suit it. Husks spend eternities wandering the frozen wasteland lost, forced to look for the barest of necessities. Many naturally succumbed to the cold, gradually becoming one with the ice. It was perhaps the Father’s greatest way to break one’s soul, a slight improvement over the rest of Hell in cruelty.
But gradually, a gathering emerged to wade through the eternal storm. A man named Judas called for those, trying to garner hope in the barren land. Those who weren’t entirely broken by the weather rose up, looking for a break in the middle of chaos.
And with that, Judas gained a following of husks devoted to persistence in spite of their punishment. Judas called for people to form a city of worship for the Council, for as he stated, “Heaven is watching, and Heaven rewards atonement”.
A city was constructed, both a shelter and a cathedral for the denizens of Treachery. The Father himself took notice of the city, and sent down Gabriel. That day, a beacon of light that could be seen all over the layer descended upon the center of the city. Two men emerged to meet the light: Cassius and Brutus, two of Judas’s earliest and most devout followers. Awestruck at the display, they called for others to see.
Soon the whole town came to regale, with Judas at the helm. Going up to Judas himself, Gabriel proclaimed pride in the Heavens above at the efforts seen. Before parting ways on his return, he promised the people below that miracles will surely come.
But miracles never came. For untold years, Treachery’s people have persisted and waited guided by the hope that their efforts will be rewarded. Cassius and Brutus were among the leaders who preached hope, trying to comfort the people as well as their own dwindling patience.
Gabriel returned later, this time with a crowd of angels surrounding him. A crowd came again, delighted by what could be possibly their long-awaited salvation. Instead, the angelic squadron drew their swords, and began a bloody massacre. In the Father’s absence, the Council had ordered them to teach a lesson: that Hell is Hell, not Purgatory. They were all beyond saving.
Convinced that death was Heaven’s form of salvation, Cassius and Brutus calmly stood in front of the angels, and offered their lives, asking for no deal. With a sword through each of their skulls, Cassius and Brutus lay dead in the snow.
Some time later, Cassius and Brutus awoke in new bodies. In the company of angels, they professed loyalty to Heaven despite what mysterious power they awoke with. The angels saw use in Prime Souls loyal to them, and transported them back to Treachery, deep below the ruins of the city. Laying in frozen prisons, they protect Heaven and Hell from a threat far more powerful, hidden deeper…

I like the fact that the Council decided to use both of their two loyal Primes to guard the Third Prime instead of splitting them up to guard Minos or Sisyphus, which really speaks to the power level of Judas Prime.

Wintie's playing perfectly complements this track in specific, which is the biggest part of why it sounds so much better. Tho the mix is overall cleaner and, as you said, more metal oriented

The cover art and awesome OST made me wanna make a moveset concept for Brutus and Cassius prime in which you fight them simultaneously. The soul you kill first will die, and the other will become empowered for a second phase that has different moves for either soul. I'll paste the finished notes over this comment when I'm done

Would be kinda crazy, and would make Treachery a full 4 level layer, the 2 normal levels, then you go through a gauntlet killing the last remaining demons, destroy the prison that Brutus and Cassius are in, perhaps the husk of Lucifer (going by Dantes Inferno) and then you jump into Lucifers open mouth, and walk through an uneasy cold, barren wasteland, with the souls of the damn already snuffed out in the ice, but in the horizon, the flesh Tesseract, you fight this chaotic horrible... thing, not for what is inside, but to survive by ripping away what blood it has, but once you destroy it, nothing comes out, but you hear the clapping of Judas as YOU step out of the tesseract, you were inside it? How? Who knows, but what's important is killing the last "living" being in Hell, and getting his blood.

guess it was just me, but as soon as i heard that part in hollenmorder i thought i’ve heard this before. weird
As cool as these new remasters are, I can't help but notice the new additions feel a bit... dissonant? The real guitar/bass adds a lot more life to the track, and the violin is an amazing touch. The issue for me is that really do sound as if they were done as an afterthought, with the composition not fully suiting it. I still like the tracks overall, and the mixing does actually help to sell it. I just think the main composition was altered a bit to further compliment the addition of live instruments.
I think that's a you thing tbh, I mixed the instruments as best as I could and I think they blend well but to each their own
@@ddduv I like the way they sound for sure, but something about it seems a little up. They absolutely dominate the track, and some parts don't feel fully integrated. It could be related to them being made much after the original theme.
i think the point youre getting after has more to do with the difference between sampled digital drums and real guitars
the way i record guitars and bass is very sloppy and much like people would have done back in the 70s before all this new fangled digital shit that i simply dont understand
in comparison, the drum work is always perfectly in the pocket because its programs, which might make it seem a little bit disconnected. i dig it tho personally
@@wintiesnowflake Trust me, I *love* the live instrument samples. I do think you are right about the difference between the real recordings and samples. Given there's a fully digital track that these are overlaid on to, it feels off hearing the overpowering, real guitars and base while I can still hear the old track in the background.

Why does every fanart depicting the third prime soul feel the need to atribute a symbol to it's head? I mean the designs are really cool but sysiphus and minos didn t really have something like this, they just gave minos a hole in his face and sysiphus got two eyes, a beard and hair, so where did this trend start from?

Untill he killed by Gabriel and locked him to Treachery layer.....untill his indestructible will evolved him into a prime soul far beyond both Minos and Sisyphus
