Well, I haven’t looked into this one too much, but some of your descriptions make me much more excited to read it. As a creative person who has made and studied art in many forms, I find that aspect of the book very intriguing. Sounds like a unique book for Sanderson as well. I plan to read it sometime next year
I’m in complete agreement with you. I really enjoyed Umi but did find the beginning real slow where Tress felt like it threw you in right away. I didn’t love the cover of this one and I might have to splurge and get the backer versions.
That’s true, and some art I consider great didn’t sell well. However, the discussion in the book is about how the determination of great art is based on what humans value it, then great art that sells has a value because it’s what people want, so it can be used as a determining factor.
