- Kavita Krishnamurthy says "I would like to thank Laxmikant-Pyarelal Ji for introducing me to Subhash Ji. I used to dub many years ago for films since a female voice with emotions was required for the heroines so I used to sing the song and then I Lata Ji came and recorded her own thing. This streak continued because of the work that I did with Laxmikant-Pyarelal.
During those days, Meri Jung was being made when Subhash Ghai came to the studio and I started singing for him. Even then I was singing it for dubbing purposes but Subhash Ji used my lines and that made me what I am today."

What an incredibly talented singer. Strong voice and great emotions. True talent of an artist is humility and she is filled with that unlike Lata Mangeshkar, even though Lata stopped her songs and forcibly sang 1942 love story’s song Kuch Na Kaho. It was first sung by kavithaji but Lata took it from under her. Even then this lady remained classy and never complained intact hailed lataji. That’s the mark of a true artist.

Maybe she received the most praise for Saudagar, but the songs are not good. As mentioned Sir, Salaami and many others are the real Gems of Hindi film music. Mostly recorded between 1993-2000! (far better than Lata)
