Damn, the Italian voice actor was going REAL hard until the yell. Almost perfect
oh trust me, most of italian dubs are great until a character yells, for some reason it always sounds kinda off
Trust me though, the Italian version is actually the worst one. Our voice acting might be great, but our adaptations are always horrible.

They really needed a deeper voice for the english one, imagine have a voice like Thanos, Paarthurnax or even christopher lee saying this
His voice is much deeper but they tend to change the pitch of voices at moments like these. Take the gear 4 dub for example. It sounds fine I’m stampede but weird in Dressrosa.
Feel like the English dub is the better one her. It's the only one that really screams it out loud for the world to listen.

I'm not trying to fanboy for my own language here, but Whitebeard, unlike in the sub, directly refers to Ace's will as the "flames of liberation" and the one inheriting Ace's will as the one whose strive for freedom cannot be surpressed, who will realize people's wishes for freedom, which hits very hard if you have seen the recent chapters of One Piece. Although it's pretty clear what Whitebeard is referring to, I love the wording in German more than the more subtle one in Japanese.
But the sub voice is chef's kiss, of course. R.I.P. to both the VA and the character.

Today, 11/02/22, the Brazilian voice actor for Whitebeard, Antônio Moreno, passed away. A beautiful powerful voice that did justice to the original, thus making it faithful to the greatest of the work and having made a great choice for being quite an actor, having great staging and great characters. чет я проорался с нашей озвучки в сравнении с другой, но дядька Шачибури все равно красавчик, это факт

The english one sounded so much like Clint Eastwood. He should've been voiced by him. Whitebeard just has similarities with Gran Torino's main character. Especially the end of both characters (how they died standing and getting dozens of bullets into them).
A lot of anime dub actors don't get paid royalties, so no-can-do there on A-listers

@@mithrun966 Yeah, that's something. But I can't look at the bottom of the screen constantly without losing the picture itself, so I use English dubs. They're fairly well done in most cases

I understand Russian, German and English, but the German one is definitely the best. Russian kinda sucks even though its my mother language and favorite one.
Also for those who don't know: check out the German first ever intro, its just unique.

same here as a russian living in germany i just love speaking german for the sole reason that germany has nailed the voice acting in anime dubs
russia is really low budget on dubbing things so its just overvoice most of the time
and english voice acting usually sounds really fake and unrealistic
its an art and germany has mastered it

The Japanese dub is the default voice because all of this originates from the Japanese.
The English dub sounds better because it's a more realistic yell to actually be heard by EVERYONE close and far.

in french, saying "Le One Piece est réel" (One Piece is real) is really weird, so saying exiat instead made more sense to us

There is no dubbing in Russian, it's just a one-voice fan voiceover (the guy voices all the characters in general and has already voiced about 1000 episodes). As for the voice acting, her level is pretty good in this area, but... obviously, it cannot compete with the official dubbing, and it should not have been inserted into this video. It's as if I have voiced the whole play in its entirety and it has been inserted into a video comparison with entire dubbing studios in other countries
