These are in the end characters that don't affect the main plot of one piece as both are dead, yet since day 1 we've always had this aura of mystery when it came to Roger, to finally see his power in our own eyes is incredible, I got goosebumps seeing this for the first time.
This is a moment where Oden realize that there's someone even far more stronger than him. Roger and Whitebeard are the true devil of the sea. I'm pretty sure we get to see Roger and Garp VS Rox Pirate. Here's hoping.
Rock's must be even worse, his crew was full of violent psycho who killed each other on daily basis, but no one defied his authority, what can keep those vicious monsters in line? only Rock could
I've seen a time when he didn't smile. When they were underwater either traveling to the fishman island or away from it and Roger heard the giant sea kings talk and he was like "who tf is talking?" Lol
He didn't smile when he was alone sometimes because he was in horrible pain,dying and coughing up blood. He never let his crew see that though. Indomitable will power.
This is honest to god my favorite scene in all of OP so far, specifically when it cuts to Roger and he's just standing there, arms open like he's about to embrace Whitebeard in a hug, but his face is lit up and his eyes are red and the haki travels through his sword... fucking chills. Best scene from the best anime with the best character. Hype personified.
You know, it's very huge achievement that we had this Gol D. Roger character, legendary Pirate King hyped for 20 years since the beginning and when we had opportunity to actually see him more he didn't disappoint. It's really incredible storytelling achievement.
I like how in Odens flashback, he's presented as the best of the best. In a way the tropes of a main character. To be amazing and monstrous. A terrifying presence for his enemies... And yet...as soon as he comes in with the big names like whitebeard and Rodgers. He gets slapped. Really showing the power of these characters through the lense of another character.

It’s amazing how an intense amount of haki is being used and their not even fighting to kill if some of the strongest characters were present I doubt they would even be able to stand while these to go at it.
That Whitebeard would have wiped out the entire map in the Marineford War Arc. They had to age him another 60 years before beginning the Marineford Arc
