    Hey everyone, unfortunately McBrides Beach has been 'temporarily closed' since the filming of this video. Here is the fact sheet taken from NSW National Parks website
    www.nationalparks.nsw.gov.au/-/media/visitor/files/pdf/mcbrides-beach-access-changes.pdf
    Let's all remember to look after these places we visit, never leave any rubbish behind, respect the tracks and environment.

      Got a feeling it wont be temporary unfortunately...but good callout on looking after these tracks and the environment - huge part of the reason they close these tracks. Keep up the good content and encouraging people to respect the environment we play in...maybe an episode on tips on how and why??

    • @stephenlloydco
      @stephenlloydco 3 роки тому +2

      It won’t be temporary, you can see in the last paragraph it says vehicle access and camping have always been prohibited.

    • @stevejeffery77
      @stevejeffery77 3 роки тому

      The tracks permanently closed to vehicles and camping was never allowed anyway, national parks never policed it because of the track conditions obviously! They've been saying for years they were going to close it but I think It's recent rise in popularity forced them to close it! About 6 weeks ago I went down there was no less then 150 people camping down there

      And kooks that watch these vids come to these beautiful places leaving rubbish and shitty toliet paper please stop naming locations in the great lakes area people can look for themselves if their that keen to explore, I thought that's wat 4x4 camping is all about! And it's not just that the track was too hectic for national parks it was because of the state it had been left in over the last few months!

    Hey Tyler, I really enjoy watching your vids every few days.
    Just a tip - I've noticed in some recent vids when you're splitting wood that sometimes there's someone off to the side of your log, at right angles to the axe-handle. I reckon this is the most dangerous place for them to be. If the log gets hit with a glancing blow, the axe'll fly off very quickly and could hit them badly - I've seen a few near misses over the years.
    Keep up the great work. Shame about McBrides getting closed.

We are like you and want to avoid the crowds when we camp and was wondering if I should be worried if I try to mimic the way you camped in the State Forest near Smiths lake etc but have a trailer with me… Do you think those tracks around the area in general where you camped with that view etc is really only suitable for a four-wheel-drive (car only) and not something with a trailer as well?

    Thanks Tyler, another great vid. I share your dislike of national parks - they suck. It's like they want to herd you into dirty little pig-pens to camp, and everything is restrictive. Was in the Capertee Valley this week, awesome country but both camps I went to were NP so no pets, no firewood, no enjoying yourself, ... they were too busy putting up more of those bloody awful wire rope fences all round the camp which made no sense at all? Did you need a beach permit for Burgess & Lighthouse? Oh yeh, one last thing, just out of interest what subject do you teach? Cheers.

    • @TylerThompson90
      @TylerThompson90  3 роки тому

      Im not too sure of the trail name to be honest but sounds like it may be the one you are talking about as there was a gate at the start which was open but no signs there or anything, figured they may close it after a heap of rain or during winter etc. Where we camped there was no chain/rope or any signs, further along the track though (few hundred metres) was another little camp spot that had a private property sign with a rope across the entrance. If you're out there again you'll see if back before the private property spot you're talking about. But yeah if it was a private road I had no idea, I just head out exploring areas and if there is gates/signs etc Ill head down any trail I can see haha
