You inspired me to try this technique on a regular surfboard by gluing a plywood pad first on the deck (and maybe on the bottom too.)

Didn't you had problems extracting the screw? wasn't it glued to the tnut?
I was careful not to get epoxy on the screw. But even even if you do it will have trouble stick to the metal and you could still unscrew it
This wouldnt work for saltwater right?
Thats what it was made for. All the hardware is stainless steel
This time I will use Woodglut plans for this.
