Jake, I know you don't want to be called a hero: so I will call you a National Treasure. I cherish you and your wonderful memory! Bless you for bringing us your stories, and the stories of your comrades-in-arms. ❤
This is why Christiane is my favorite...ever since I was 10 yrs old watching her with my WWII vet grandfather on CNN(because he didn't want to miss anything in the world). Now I understand why. I'm much older and wiser...PBS member for life!
Wow, what a wonderful man and what an outstanding interview. Whenever I watch these videos, usually with tears in my eyes, one of my first thoughts is my Uncle Nick from Minneapolis, Minnesota, KIA with 85 shipmates aboard the New Orleans-class heavy cruiser USS San Francisco (CA-38) during the Naval Balltle of Guadalcanal, 12-13 November 1942, in World War II. I write this comment in loving memory of my uncle who died 8 years before I was born. Gone too soon, Rest in Peace.
God bless you Sir for protecting & preserving the free world ! RIP to all those brave young men who lost their lives on June 6th 1944 God Bless America !
My God....but we walk amongst giants. True Selfless Heroes. Look at his sharpness...WHAT a life...My God - we are looking at a life Well Lived. How amazing...how truly awesome. God Bless this Gentleman.
My utmost respect and gratitude for the sacrifice of all those brave souls who fought valiantly and honorably, and gave up their lives for something greater than themselves.
What a wonderful man at 102 years young. He is a reminder of the sacrifice so many gave that never came home. GOD bless him.
Both my grandpa's were WWII vets and I miss them so much. Thanks isn't a big enough word for you guys, thanks for everything!
Thank You for All you’ve done and stand for Good Sir , God Bless you !
Thank you from France.
A true hero. And amazing for someone to be that mentally sharp at 101
There is no missing that in many of these storied Veterans! Their bodies have aged...their minds have not. What an awesome group! Tremendous!
May Jake Larson have many, many blessings and see much further than 102...to teach us even more than we knew about ourselves.
A clear mind on a wonderful man. He risk his life for us. Never forget that.♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️

I love Papa Jake and enjoy watching all his videos on TikTok. ❤❤
The road rose to meet them.
❤ I also remember Mack Roll hearing the beach stories of others. 😊
He helped save the World. No "Loser" here, no "Sucker" as Orange 45 has declared our veterans.
Listening to a WW2 soldier talking about views on an app is something I’d never thought I’d here in my lifetime
God bless you Papa Jake. "Don't die"
'We kicked Hitlers a$$ out of Europe' - what a legend!!
