That's odd. No, you shouldn't need the membership. Maybe try to restart design space or do you have an option to update the software ? It sounds like a glitch.
I want to do a deboss background on heavy card stock on the Maker and in between put a heart shape with (foil) wine glasses and (foil) happy anniversary (no debossing on this area) . Will I be able to do this or am I better off just doing wine glasses and slicing between glass top and stem to write Happy Anniversary?

My software won’t allowed me to Slice any image or letter. Do I have to have a membership or purchase the Cricut assess before I can get to slice?
