This is why I follow you! Not only do you care for all your animals, but you showcase the bigger picture: heritage breed protection, responsible ownership, community building while keeping everybody safe... You're an inspiration! I adopted my Old English Bulldog Dizzy at 7 years old, she's almost 10 now and 'scary dog privilege' really is a thing! Even though she is a total cuddle bug :) Hats off to you both!
Hi! Dogs are great buddies and teachers! I’ve learned so much over the years. And being good enough is one of the best lessons! Believe your dogs! It’s obvious for me - watching from Germany - that you are lovely, lovable and loved people. Even the cat enjoys your company 😉. Thanks for sharing❤❤❤
Yeah that's what a crate is meant to be, their safe spot. I'm dutch and we don't have big backyards and putting your dog in one would be seen as wrong for a pet. But that means that if you have a dog you are meant to take it on at least three walks a day with one being longer in some place it can run around. And it makes dog behave better, they do their rounds, even just little ones, check all the scentmarkings, meet all the dogs they know. When they get "lost" they will usually know where they are so just go home or people will post and other people will know that dog and who they belong to. Because they constantly see you with them. Just by way of not thinking you can just let a dog in the yard it creates a healthier day to day life for that dog with it's people. Though I'm a catlady and my role is just sitting inside with a cat on my lap watching dog people trek through rain, ice snow ,in the dark with their dogs and be thankful mine have a litterbox, haha. Though going into the yard is about as much excitement as they need they can do that alone.
Talking about horrible barks… Jack Russel Terriers are bred for helping on the fox hunt. When the fox is hiding in its burrow the dog is send in … getting them out … by shouting at them. Their voice makes animals leave their save home and run into hail of bulettes to get away from. And in the nature of the dog is it to connect these noises to running around having fun. As you know and tell, it’s really important to learn about the bread of dogs to know what to expect and where to intervene and when to rehome. By the way I loved my Jack Russel Terrier very much. And I stopped her „hunting screaming“ from the start. so we had (almost) only the other, normal conversational, bored barking.

I'm glad that this worked out so well! Best of luck to the new happy family!
