No, this is about corporations buying up residential and other properties and wrapping them into investment vehicles for shareholders ultimately raising rents for profit and then others in the area raising their rents to match corporate rates. People can't compete with corporations. Laws need to be passed to stop corporations from owning family homes or multiples of apartment complexes. They are so rich, it doesn't matter if buildings sit empty (while people find themselves homeless).
This is happening in cleveland, tn, too. Pushing out people who have lived here their whole life.
same thing in glendale/peoria AZ area
My mortgage for a 4 Bed 4 Bath in Florida is 800$ a month. I heard rent for a studio apartment is over 1000$. How can people afford that?
They can't. Millennials and Gen Z are living in their cars or in their parent's basements while working a full-time job. Ridiculous!

If you can adopt a mentality of never just living and clinging to a city emotionally when you are young you will thrive in your later years. The military prepared me for going from place to place and I'm very grateful for it. I have zero issues picking up everything to where I'm most advantageous in society rather than getting caught up that you're away from family or high school friends that you never speak to again.
