All those damn references, in-jokes, and Easter eggs in "Ready Player One" and they couldn't squeeze Yamato in there? Yeah, it would have stolen the show, but still...
Wow, I loved the series as a kid, but this soundtrack is more impressive than I remember it. Hiroshi Miyagawa, this is classic! STARBLAZERS/SPACESHIP YAMAMOTO is definitely in the elite league of popular science fiction/adventure with STAR WARS and STAR TREK. Seriously, this is an underappreciated symphonic score. Awesome.

Quantum Shock Did that in CBT. had the Yamato, last one alive against 4 Cruisers and 2 Tier VII BB's. I came outta my destroyers smoke, and it was like God himself handed me his hammer to smite down the enemy team, with 10 mins left, I rammed 3 of them, took 8 Torpedoes and sunk the other 3 with good HE volleys. Yamato = God.

Hot Take. IJN Yamato is not totally useless. Without Yamato. Space Battleship Yamato will never exist. Gundam will never exist and Star Wars will never be what they are now. Means without Battleship Yamato, Sci Fi wouldn’t be a popular Genre till this day. She might be useless for war. But she is the root of all Legacies. She is literally one Big Cannon event.
The first strike was a phaser strike that ripped into that cube... Had that been Kirk, that Cube woulda been obliterated... It was only after that first strike that the Borg adapted and the Enterprise was helpless

i highly doubt the teleport theorie would stick, the Yamato was the only ship with warp cabebility, and even then, where would he get the power to warp? the wave motion gun would have drained all the remaining power, since there was barely left for the gun itself. But the fact remains: this was a super good movie
It's growing on me...but I still think how they changed the Gamillas was too extreme. The whole "facets of the whole" aspect of Gamillas and Iskendar felt a little too much like the Borg in "Star Trek."

imagine the Enterprise-D Galaxy-X Dreadnaught arriving through the vortex firing the Phaser Lance and every one of her photon and quantum torpedoes along with every single phaser bank and cannon while gamails ships cant do anything to her shields.
Buruki Kerman you can't be serious first that vessel I love it but in honesty she's still ancient she was constructed in the late 22nd century the galaxy class is constructed in the 24th century so who's really the bug? But the two would ultimately work side by side as they are both humanity's star fleet.. the end!
The Enterprise is not a good candidate for the Yamato replacement. Comic book Narada is the best candidate considering it must take a lot of damage, can (possibly) gain the abilities of the dimensional submarine and gain the warping capabilities of Gamilas.
