Another great video. Love Monk's insights. Especially on playing with intensity and making each note as dramatic or gentle as we choose.

Thanks, Dominic. I try and revisit these ideas pretty regularly. There are some fundamentally important concepts here that can easily slip my mind if I don't remind myself of them from time to time.

Gillespie's point is very true with composition. If you can't intensely hear it, it doesn't come out right

Great point, Neil! These ideas definitely apply to composition too although I hadn't mentioned that angle at all. Monk wrote some great tunes...

Worried about mistakes in public? You should be. Train up to 50 percent greater than you need.

That's a great idea - have a hidden drummer in your head

Come on People. He has never played an instrument in his life. He just says things you already know. Its just word salad. He has all those videos and they all say the same thing. All he ever says is Practice, Dont waste time. focus. have structure. He obviously cant play an instrument. Just babbles fancy words. truly useless. He knows it. He just wants you to watch all his word salad vids that say nothing you dont already know.

Sorry that you seem frustrated and angry about something. Hope things improve for you. And if you already know everything that I share in my videos then that's great! Lots of people tell me they find them really useful, though.
(P.S. I've been playing the guitar for well oevr 20 years)

On the contrary, I find Mark's videos and practice courses are packed with useful insight. Not just from a musician, but someone generous enough to help other musicians to improve. If you truly think you're wiser, just look at the patience and generosity of the reply you got, compared to your angry and insensitive comment.

I agree with Dominic. You should lighten up and ease off being so rude and arrogant. If you don't have anything constructive to say then you should harness your pointless negative comments-especially these uninformed, venomous remarks you made. It's so easy to shoot people down. You'd be well advised to do your research first before blasting someone's well intentioned offerings.

Jordan, what about quitting drugs and reflect on why you need to write hateful comments instead of doing something useful for yourself?
