Yep! I ran and bought a 43...because of the hype pre release...i got the 43 1st in my local area they said. I have never carried it except back up some days to replace my SW 442...ankle or coat... but honestly the snub is better suited to that role. I just love my 26 (over 10 years now) with a 17 or 19 back up mag. SAK cadet, wallet phone... and my keys have a Leatherman squirt PS4 and a Fenix eo1...use those little tools a lot. Microstreams are in all our vehicles, and around the house, and are also in my go bag and camp bags...great little AAA light. I like your set up!

Ya a video on appendix carry for different body types and what gun would be best to carry with that body type would be helpful. I carry a Glock 19 and want to start carrying appendix cuz it'll be more comfortable for me. I'm a thin guy though and didn't know if it would print easier on me. I researched the Blade Tech Klipt appendix holster for my 19 and seems really good. Was thinking of giving that a try. Also I saw your comment about maybe making holsters and selling them. I was just going to ask you that too haha. That'd be awesome! I'd for sure buy one from you. Looks like you do an awesome job man! Love the vid. For knives I usually cary a TDI ka-bar and Benchmade griptilian. If you're ever looking for a relatively small light with high out put try the fenix PD35. On high it runs at 850 lumens best dec purchase I ever made.

I've seen flashlights n EDC all the time but have thought that be too much weight in my pocket I've known about small flashlights but never put it together that I could put a small 1 n my pocket till your video idk why lol thank you!

Hey i have a tip for ya for the kershaw cryo not having any grip. Take some truck spray on bed liner (automobile section at walmart). You can do the whole grip by taking it apart, or use masking tape to tape of areas and paint. Maybe some designs on the grip by printing off a stencil or something(to cut out a stencil, i use a craft knife, it has a handle with replaceable razor tips) Trust me, it works great. Try it on a old knife or something and if you like it do a review on it. Imma start my youtube videos soon on my channel

Nice minimalist video. I like how you don't carry 500 lbs of crap for all the "what if" scenarios. I have a small frame about 5'7" and rather skinny, have you used an aftermarket appendix carry holster for g26 you think are worth mentioning? I have a desantis that rides a bit too low. It's nice for not printing but when I sit down it is quite uncomfortable.

That G26 is awesome. Really love that. You say you dont carry a defensive blade... Humor me and check out the "Spiderco Matriarch 2" I dont have knife training either, but god forbid youre in a fight for your life, Id rather have another option if my gun ran dry. Thrunight makes some pretty sweet lights for anyone looking for a reasonably priced, quality LED light. I have a full length 2A battery model, not sure on the exact model name right now, and I got my dad the shorter one that takes one 2A battery. They are fairly bright and there isn't really any difference in the light brightness in the two I own, just battery life. And also last line of defense, I think people would love more videos on defensive guns and knives in general, I know I do, and that stuff is fairly popular it the tactical "hobbyist" I guess you could call us civilians, and the Sheriff's deputies I did my ride alongs with seemed to be no different from us as well in their interest in these types of things. I've also been in the market for a wallet, and I think most people consider those in their "EDC pocket dumps" as well, idk I dont really watch too many of these but they are interesting. I just need a wallet that won't fall to pieces in less than a year. I'm glad I found this channel you have some quality, entertaining, and most importantly educational videos. It's also always nice to see someone who takes time to interact with the nubes starting out, kinda like me. Keep it up brother! Would you recommend that Steamlight MicroStream with a different battery for wearing on a hat for hunting? During duck season, I sometimes have to walk through marshes hours before dawn to set up decoys in the dark. It seems like a better option than a hat with built in crappy LED lights. Thanks.
Flash445 If you'll be using it regularly on your head, I'd probably opt for a dedicated headlamp. I think the microstream is nice because you can use it as a headlamp in a pinch, but a dedicated headlamp will give you better battery life, and illuminate a larger area than the microstream will.
A question about choosing a Glock 26. You mentioned in another video that you used to carry an XD-S but opted for glock 26 for the increased capaciy. How come you didn't go for the XD Mod 2 subcompact (13 rds)? Only asking because it's my dilemma right now choosing between the two.
+Raymund Solis XD Mod 2 seems like a great gun - it didn't exist when I went to the G26. Also I just kind of moved entirely to the Glock platform, so the G26 made more sense for me at the time.
Have never tried one, but I think they overcomplicate things. I'm sure some people will have success with them, but I don't personally have an interest in them.

In looking at the Federal website, it appears they have discontinued the HST in all but the 124 grain weight. Have you decided if you are going to stick with this brand since now the HST 147 is discontinued?

I do not carry a handgun. I fully support all those that want to carry. I have watched many, many videos about EDC gear. Many carry guns and/or tactical type knives. Every one says these are for self defense and yet I have not seen one person carry pepper spray or a taser. Kinda makes one wonder, don't you think, since even police and military will try to disable a person without the use of firearms if possible. The average, logical person watching these EDC videos would have to make certain deductions based upon the lack of sprays or teasers in these kits.
Frederick Ippolito Police officers need non-lethal weapons to control and restrain individuals that they are intending to arrest. As a civilian I'll never be restraining an individual - if there is ever a situation I can avoid, i will avoid it at all costs. Using a lethal weapon such as a gun is the very last resort, when I'm left with no other option. If I walked around every day with a police belt around my waist, then sure I'd carry some handcuffs, a taser, pepper spray, a baton, etc. However, when I want to carry a minimal amount of stuff necessary, then I'll carry the most powerful tool that I can legally use to defend myself or others. Pepper spray and Tasers have many limitations that a gun does not. If the situation puts me in fear of my life, I'd never want to turn to one of those options - and if the situation doesn't put me in fear of my life, then I will simply remove myself from the situation. Just my personal thoughts on the matter.

christian seely Those are the G3 Field Pant in multicam black from Crye Precision - and they're actually fairly baggy compared to some others I wear. Maybe I'll do a vid on 'tactical' pants that I've owned or used over the years - granted the ones I've used are only a small portion of the ones out there. One of my favorite though is the 5.11 Stryke pant.

Last Line Of Defense Very interesting. Since you have some experience making your own holsters it may also be of interest for viewers to have comparisons to some known items such as RCS, G-Code, Safariland, etc..

I wear a Suunto when I fly or go backpacking, but otherwise, I just use my phone/laptop as my clock. I have pens all over, and usually have my laptop bag with me when I'm not at the house. But yeah, I usually don't carry a pen or a notepad in my pocket. My Note does have a stylus though, so if I ever get the urge to jot down some notes or sketch, that works for me in a pinch!
Not really, but kind of. You are not supposed to purchase new 15+ round mags in Colorado, but all of your old mags are grand-fathered. It's pretty much unenforced though, and you can regularly buy 15 - 100 round mags at many gun shops around CO - not saying I do that or anything though.
You don't carry a knife? If you are in a situation and your gun is knocked away? Your going to wish you had a knife. It is not mystic voodoo ninja training. Pull it from the pocket and insert into said bad guy and watch his attitude change. It could buy you that precious two seconds to retrieve your firearm. Just like the gun, the mantra does not change. Better to have it and not need it, than need it and not have it.

Both great knives, I occasionally carry a TDI as well. THe PD35 is a great light, but a little bigger than I like to pocket carry.
I have both a PD35 and a PD32. I love the PD35 for work (security), and I EDC the PD32 because its just a tiny bit smaller and easier to pocket.

Hi mike, what ammo do you use for you edc? Both 9mm and 223.
9mm I use 147gr Federal HST standard pressure. 5.56/.223 I like Hornady TAP and XM193.
I'm contemplating getting a G26. Does the Pearce +2 ever give you any problems pinching your finger when you shoot? Thanks.
I'm not sure, I use the pearce +1 and it has never given me any issues.
What do you think about the G30s for appendix carry?
I don't have much experience with them personally - but if you're comfortable shooting it, then I'm sure it's a fine carry gun.

Creighton C I think the Federal website just doesn't show all the options. But I have about 500rds of it, so it should last me awhile. ;)

I do not carry a handgun. I fully support all those that want to carry. I have watched many, many videos about EDC gear. Many carry guns and/or tactical type knives. Every one says these are for self defense and yet I have not seen one person carry pepper spray or a taser. Kinda makes one wonder, don't you think, since even police and military will try to disable a person without the use of firearms if possible. The average, logical person watching these EDC videos would have to make certain deductions based upon the lack of sprays or teasers in these kits.
Frederick Ippolito Police officers need non-lethal weapons to control and restrain individuals that they are intending to arrest. As a civilian I'll never be restraining an individual - if there is ever a situation I can avoid, i will avoid it at all costs. Using a lethal weapon such as a gun is the very last resort, when I'm left with no other option. If I walked around every day with a police belt around my waist, then sure I'd carry some handcuffs, a taser, pepper spray, a baton, etc. However, when I want to carry a minimal amount of stuff necessary, then I'll carry the most powerful tool that I can legally use to defend myself or others. Pepper spray and Tasers have many limitations that a gun does not. If the situation puts me in fear of my life, I'd never want to turn to one of those options - and if the situation doesn't put me in fear of my life, then I will simply remove myself from the situation. Just my personal thoughts on the matter.

Hey what kinda pants are those? Let's see a video on tactical pants that are more fitted. I think guys with a more athletic build have a hard time finding tac pants that don't look like they are a cut for a pregnant woman. Great vids, keep it up.
christian seely Those are the G3 Field Pant in multicam black from Crye Precision - and they're actually fairly baggy compared to some others I wear. Maybe I'll do a vid on 'tactical' pants that I've owned or used over the years - granted the ones I've used are only a small portion of the ones out there. One of my favorite though is the 5.11 Stryke pant.

Yeah, I own one. In the 9mm single stack game, I prefer the XDS. I carry the g26 though, as I mentioned for capacity. The shield is still a great gun though.
If you are looking for video ideas, a holster video would be cool.
I make my own holsters, but due to hearing this question all the time, I'll probably start selling them to the public in the next few weeks. I'll be sure to post up a video about it, and maybe post a video of some tips that would rather make them on their own.
Last Line Of Defense Very interesting. Since you have some experience making your own holsters it may also be of interest for viewers to have comparisons to some known items such as RCS, G-Code, Safariland, etc..
***** Yeah comparisons would be cool, however I've sold nearly all of my holsters from other brands - so I only have a few remaining holsters that I'd be able to use in comparisons and most of them OWBs. But I'll see what I can do in the upcoming weeks/months about putting a video of comparisons together.
Last Line Of Defense Come on, dude! You're a UA-cam star, time to abuse your influence. Check out AR15.com EE, LF.net Swap Meet, and various FB sales groups and pick up a few holsters then sell them off. You could probably break even.

No watch or pen? Those are two items I definitely don't like going without.
I wear a Suunto when I fly or go backpacking, but otherwise, I just use my phone/laptop as my clock. I have pens all over, and usually have my laptop bag with me when I'm not at the house. But yeah, I usually don't carry a pen or a notepad in my pocket. My Note does have a stylus though, so if I ever get the urge to jot down some notes or sketch, that works for me in a pinch!

Isn't Colorado limited to 15 rounds?
Not really, but kind of. You are not supposed to purchase new 15+ round mags in Colorado, but all of your old mags are grand-fathered. It's pretty much unenforced though, and you can regularly buy 15 - 100 round mags at many gun shops around CO - not saying I do that or anything though.

If you are in a situation and your gun is knocked away? Your going to wish you had a knife. It is not mystic voodoo ninja training.
Pull it from the pocket and insert into said bad guy and watch his attitude change. It could buy you that precious two seconds to retrieve your firearm.
Just like the gun, the mantra does not change. Better to have it and not need it, than need it and not have it.
