They're just enjoying the music/performance/art similar to a musical or movie. A lot of music in the 70's was enjoyed sitting down (Neil Young, Carole King). Sometimes you dance, & sometimes you let the art play out without the need to engage outside the soul. Sometimes it's a simultaneous experience. No regrets.
