That factory Ford ball joints are riveted to the arm, but they can be removed. You just have to grind off one side of the rivet and tap them out. The new ball joint comes with nuts and bolts to mount the new ball joint to the old arm
@edcdad4485 I had the same problem after grinding the rivet flush with the arm I used 2 drill bits 1 about half the diameter of the rivet until it comes out the other side then with a larger bit that us just smaller than that rivet. After that the rivet popped out.

Did all the grinding still can't tap the rivet out

Pro tip...definitely disconnect the tie rod & bottom sway bar link prior to reinstalling the new control arm‼️‼️
