Now, I feel like people that don't even necessarily like rogans show will listen if it's a guest they know. Whole style of the show has essentially changed too. It used to be "I just bring people on that I wanna talk to" to now he brings on who's going to bring the most eyes or who's a hot topic (random politicians, wiz khalifa episode was a let down), and the conversations are definitely based off talking points when he brings someone on like Mike Baker or politicians or even NDGT, he's coach-pitching questions and the guests field em perfectly into a segue.

The recent neil degrass tyson episode felt like a mess, and as i get older the more i realize Joe is not learning anymore, still spewing bs more often then not. Bill was pretty much a hack until the Philly rant which happened on the O&A Virus tour in 2006. After that he leaned into the darker material and off the cuff style that O&A did. For all Bill's talk about the "cellar" and comedians ripping on each other, I think going on O&A shaped the Bill that got popular. You can hear the influence Anthony and Jimmy had on Bill's style.

So many people nowadays know O&A just because of Patrice's appearances. As an old fan, it's kind of annoying to see Patrice shoehorned into any conversation about them. I wish these new Patrice fans would dig further, because that show was a goldmine of off-the-cuff humor. For every Patrice appearance, there were 20 shows with great banter between comedians (like Vos, Kelly, Quinn, CK, Petersen, etc.), and riffing between Jim and Ant. Over the years, Ant made me laugh way more than any standup ever did.

This is one of my favorite Rogan clips. When I listened to old O@A I always assumed that the guys were having a blast. Its great to hear how much they actually enjoyed it. Rogan was already big because of UFC and FF but most regulars were still club comics that didn't make it huge yet. Listening you almost felt like knew the dudes. If you went to a comedy club back then with the O@A regulars all you had to do was mention the show to the comic after their set and they'd chat with you so much that at times we ended the conversation because we had more drinking to do elsewhere. If you went up to burr now and asked him about breaking bad it would probably be a short conversation. Not a shot at Burr for being a dik I just assume he gets constantly bugged. Just having Burr and Rogan recount stories like the Baby Bird takes me back and has me laughing. They got away with stuff you were shocked they were able to do even then, and there's no way in hell they would be able to do that kind of stuff now. And what was truly glorious was that it was mostly on the fly. Some of their best-ever bits were just them going on tangents and generating ideas on the spot, and before you know it, they've got a girl shooting a bottle rocket out of her vagina or some wild shit like that.
