Bill Burr: “You know when a broadcaster can get into, like, the sports hall of fame even though he never played?” Future UFC hall of fame broadcaster Joe Rogan: “Yeah”
Glad they talked about this. O and A in its peak was a scene of ultra talented comedians before they exploded just being completely vile. I still listen to some of the old clips from time to time and it still makes me laugh.
So many people nowadays know O&A just because of Patrice's appearances. As an old fan, it's kind of annoying to see Patrice shoehorned into any conversation about them. I wish these new Patrice fans would dig further, because that show was a goldmine of off-the-cuff humor. For every Patrice appearance, there were 20 shows with great banter between comedians (like Vos, Kelly, Quinn, CK, Petersen, etc.), and riffing between Jim and Ant. Over the years, Ant made me laugh way more than any standup ever did.
There's something called chemistry. Individually, Anthony is unbearable. Jimmy flounders (Sam is no help). Opie is... Opie. But when they were in the same room, man! Even the worst bits, even the boring parts, even the on air fights were gold. Take even one of them out and the show just collapses. Even the most unlistenable people on the show suddenly become entertaining when the trio are on mic. I cannot be thankful enough for having stumbled upon this show.
Love how everyone misses o and a, but everyone hates opie. If Anthony was so good and opie was so bad then them splitting up should have been a good thing
Exactly...Ant is insufferable without Opie, he has no confidence to lead his own show, he's hesitant and boring and dwells forever on politics and race. And Jim & Sam...BOOOO

@@farmyardfab there's screenshots of Cumia following 13 year old girls on Instagram, he said on o&a that's the age he would go for if it wasn't illegal, and on TACS he openly lusted after 13 year old Danielle Brigolie multiple times. He was catfished by a guy pretending to be a child and bought them a laptop and phone to try and groom them without parents finding out and invited them to his house. This is one of my favorite Rogan clips. When I listened to old O@A I always assumed that the guys were having a blast. Its great to hear how much they actually enjoyed it. Rogan was already big because of UFC and FF but most regulars were still club comics that didn't make it huge yet. Listening you almost felt like knew the dudes. If you went to a comedy club back then with the O@A regulars all you had to do was mention the show to the comic after their set and they'd chat with you so much that at times we ended the conversation because we had more drinking to do elsewhere. If you went up to burr now and asked him about breaking bad it would probably be a short conversation. Not a shot at Burr for being a dik I just assume he gets constantly bugged. The old O@A days were even awesome for their fans. Damn I sound like a rambling fan boy!
1:14 same here. That's the last time I went out of my way to get up to hear "Live". I had the XM radio that would record the show, but I'd still listen live. INSTANT FEEDBACK!!!
Jimmy and Anthony together were legendary sometimes The other day I listened to the 8 Track bit with the audio porn and I thought I was gonna have a heart attack I laughed so hard
It seems like both sides of this arguement agree on one thing. The real attraction of O&A wasn't O&A. *It was the comedians they had access to and let run buck wild on the show.*
God, I just listened to clips of O&A yesterday, and among those was Patrice cracking himself up about the country singers, who are "shaped like something that never falls down" LMAO probably his greatest laugh. He was so incredibly funny. Miss that big fellow.
I absolutely LOOOOOOOVE O&A. My husband was an OTR trucker in 2009/2010 and we lived off O&A and Ron n Fez. Such good times. The whole Tiger Woods "whaaaaa happennnn" lolol. My husband and I STILL say some of those catch lines from their show.
There's an entire archive of o&a bits (and full shows) on youtube, but these bits/moments in particular are probably a few of their best. Sex Offender Game w/ Bill Burr & Jim Norton Kids calling in - snooping in their parents bedroom Vince McMahon surprise call (Cumia impersonating McMahon) One Guy and One Jar w/ Bill Burr Kevin Hart appearance - Caught Patrice Jacking Off Story These are the ones I can name off the top, but I'm pretty sure I'm missing a few other classic ones. We will probably never come across another radio show like this ever again - room full of great comics, no topics, no agendas, just entertaining conversations and beautiful back and forth bashing.
Don't forget the Joe Piscopo Trilogy of shows reviewing his shitty comedy special. No other show in the history of radio would of spent so much airtime on something like that but it created pure radio gold all the way through.
what a great memory, i was listening like i did every day live on the radio that day. if you were listening, you will never forget that contest and O & A. its wonderful hearing you guys retell that. thank you
God I miss O&A. Used to listen to them on NY radio even before they went to XM. One of the funniest - if not THE funniest - radio show ever. I don't know how many times I died laughing. Just having Burr and Rogan recount stories like the Baby Bird takes me back and has me laughing. They got away with stuff you were shocked they were able to do even then, and there's no way in hell they would be able to do that kind of stuff now. And what was truly glorious was that it was mostly on the fly. Some of their best-ever bits were just them going on tangents and generating ideas on the spot, and before you know it, they've got a girl shooting a bottle rocket out of her vagina or some wild shit like that. Man, so many memories.
The birth of podcasts was O and A, but also Ricky Gervais, Steve Merchant, and Karl Pilkington in the UK. It all happened around the same time, and it was literally a bunch of entetaining people talking to each other for hours on end.

Patrice O'Neil was so good they had to fall back and just let him go
I could listen to them talk classic O&A all day. When they were on FM, I'd listen on the way home and they'd make me laugh so hard. One time I was in tears laughing and almost hit a car, the guy driving that car was laughing / crying too - we just laughed at each other.
Bill Burr: “You know when a broadcaster can get into, like, the sports hall of fame even though he never played?”
Future UFC hall of fame broadcaster Joe Rogan: “Yeah”
Glad they talked about this. O and A in its peak was a scene of ultra talented comedians before they exploded just being completely vile.
I still listen to some of the old clips from time to time and it still makes me laugh.
I loved that they were reminiscing for a bit about the O&A days. Made me melancholic.
RIP Pat.
Rogans laugh sounds like Muttley from "Dastardly and Muttley"
Jean Du Preez
Laugh-O-Lympics or the Racing one.
Catch that 🕊

Joe you should get Howard Stern on the podcast. He said in a recent interview he is open to doing the podcast
Joe turned him down
@@Joeblow1981 why
Fuck Howard Stern
GrayHistory 😘
Winter C. Fuck you
when joe wheezes when he laughs it makes things ten times funnier 😂
Patrice is a lost treasure man... goddamn he was one of the best personalities I’ve ever witnessed.
I love that show till this day
RIP Pat! You were the best!
O&A was like the biggest podcast crew before podcasts. Can tell these two loved it
anyone remember the toothpick sculpture guy? then they tried to mustard him from the window and hit a chinese guy instead lol
Opie giving out Erocks phone number while he was on vacation...
Used to listen to Howard because of Artie back in 2007. Heard O&A for the first time and I was hooked, I ditched Howard and never looked back.
Calling the guy standing facing away from everyone and calling Blair witch has to be the funniest shit I’ve heard in a while 🤣
I still listen to o&a with patrice and bill burr and louie
Breuer and Otto are good too
When CK and Patrice were both on, lmao those shows were the absolute best.
Yea man, I made an animation of it on my channel. Gonna be making more.
Dying was the best thing that ever happened for Patrice's career
I got into O&A from Patrice too, so I often think of them together, but I do agree that they should have more of a legacy without him too.
Elephant in the room. I watch Patrice every month, never gets old
Listened from WNEW til the end. Never forget
Dude I can’t believe Bill remembers Jive Talk Jimmy!
RIP Pat from Moonachie
There's something called chemistry. Individually, Anthony is unbearable. Jimmy flounders (Sam is no help). Opie is... Opie. But when they were in the same room, man! Even the worst bits, even the boring parts, even the on air fights were gold. Take even one of them out and the show just collapses. Even the most unlistenable people on the show suddenly become entertaining when the trio are on mic. I cannot be thankful enough for having stumbled upon this show.
Everything you said here, except about Opie, is bullshit.
@@sguraya7223 lol solo ant is completely unlistenable
Everything you said is 100% accurate. I don't listen to any of them now, i tried, but I can't.
God I miss O&A (featuring Patrice and Jimmy). Sucks every thing ended the way it did 😪
Nothing will top the O and A show.
This brings back so many memories and so much joy for so many. O&A, Patrice and everyone involved changed comedy.
If you search for Bill Burr on Spotify, BB's podcast comes up, but there are also 80-something episodes of OandA featuring Bill Burr.
Burr- "Highly intelligent people being silly is one of my favorite things ever"
Tim Robinson- Hold my TC Tugger
O&A was so good, my favourite clips where the ones with the interns being trolled like Bobo and David lol
Still dying from them sending David in to interrupt Ron Bennington live on air to “peace offer” him a veggie Subway sandwich.
And now bill has his feminist wife so he's too good to even acknowledge that Anthony Cumia ever existed.
Maybe because Anthony has proven himself to be a pedo and even more racist than before. He regularly tweets "Kill all N's" when he sees a video of a black person and most recently he was celebrating the deaths of 3 black kids who were changing a tire and struck by a car. They weren't criminals, just 3 black kids who were in a marching band. Cumia has also been caught following 13 year old girls on Instagram.
It's not a surprise many of his old friends don't want to associate with him anymore.
@@youtubeuser1159 yeah I've been watching his new stuff and you're right about the race stuff but I don't think the stuttering John pedophile accusations have any actual evidence.
He's no different than the dudes on to catch a predator.

Patrice laugh in bobo’s up and down game is the greatest moment of radio history
I love how they both call Pat "Pat from Moonachie".
The day Billy Burr called out Anthony's bigotry on OandA is my fave piece or audio broadcast, maybe ever. R.I.P Patrice O'Neal
“Put your eyebrow down, Anthony”
Did anyone else get super nostalgic listening to this?
Been years and still miss O&A.
1:14 same here. That's the last time I went out of my way to get up to hear "Live". I had the XM radio that would record the show, but I'd still listen live. INSTANT FEEDBACK!!!
Patrice carried that show
Jimmy and Anthony together were legendary sometimes
The other day I listened to the 8 Track bit with the audio porn and I thought I was gonna have a heart attack I laughed so hard
completely agree!
Bullshit. Patrice was great but Jimmy and Anthony carried the show. Patrice was just an occasional funny guest
Timothy Carr dead wrong
It seems like both sides of this arguement agree on one thing. The real attraction of O&A wasn't O&A. *It was the comedians they had access to and let run buck wild on the show.*
God, I just listened to clips of O&A yesterday, and among those was Patrice cracking himself up about the country singers, who are "shaped like something that never falls down" LMAO probably his greatest laugh. He was so incredibly funny. Miss that big fellow.
You got a clip for that one?
yea I shouldn't have clicked on this video, it hit me right in the feels 😥
The two of you are just gold. These convos are the best.
This comment section is proof that there is a market for this show still. We need a show like that again man.
Time cares about no one. Really depressing comment section too. Good reason.
Rip Big man
I would kill for a Anthony & Patrice podcast.
Sex Offender Game w/ Bill Burr & Jim Norton
Kids calling in - snooping in their parents bedroom
Vince McMahon surprise call (Cumia impersonating McMahon)
One Guy and One Jar w/ Bill Burr
Kevin Hart appearance - Caught Patrice Jacking Off Story
These are the ones I can name off the top, but I'm pretty sure I'm missing a few other classic ones.
Smooth jazzy jim was my favorite.
honestly, if Patrice was still alive and was at compound media it would be better than O and A.
what a great memory, i was listening like i did every day live on the radio that day. if you were listening, you will never forget that contest and O & A. its wonderful hearing you guys retell that. thank you
God I miss O&A.
Didn't get them until XM but agree with this. Miss them so much...Hate how it ended but man I enjoyed it so much and miss it so!
Bill and Anthony riffing on "Taradise" is pure gold.
The birth of podcasts was O and A, but also Ricky Gervais, Steve Merchant, and Karl Pilkington in the UK. It all happened around the same time, and it was literally a bunch of entetaining people talking to each other for hours on end.
Smodcast predates all of it Hail Kevin Smith lol
Anthony and Patrice carried the O&A show
Shush, Jim is faster than Patrice. Patrice was fine but he gets way too much credit.
Louis when he was in was always a good time
@@jeromedawson1753 yeah seriously. Louie was really fucking funny on O and A. The Donald Rumsfeld interview still makes me laugh. "Are you a lizard?"
THE BABY BIRD IS A FUCKING CLASSIC😂😂
Howard Stern nothing. Opie and Anthony was the greatest radio show there ever was or will be.
