I self-manage and I employ my own support workers directly, which means I pay $25.25 per hour Mon-Fri instead of $48 per hour So I went from 38 hours of care per week to up to 75, some may laugh at self-management as only 2% of people take it up, but if you're struggling with the hours you have self-management makes sense, all you need is a few good support workers an agency as a backup and a good accountant, claim as soon as you pay a bill to keep up, budget 5% for professional help I'll answer your questions
I don' t know you know someone in the NDIS system to get this what you got with self management but you can see what I have written about on this post I think I'm being discriminated against
Most testimonials will occur at its infancy/early stage... wait a couple of years (say 5 years) when things settles and then give us your testimonials. A brand new car is a brand new car, no matter what model it is. Don't get me wrong, I'm very happy for you getting more of the support than you previously did.
@Paul Let's clarify one thing Paul: You don't pay the Support workers. The Government pays the support workers. The government pays you a pension and then you pay that money FROM the government to the support worker. The previous system: The previous system pays a disability organization which pays the Support worker gets approximately $25 hrly rate + superannuation + penalties rates + allowances + physio + psychological counseling + first aid training and other training + police checks + other work related expenses. On the new system: You pay the support worker $25hrly rate, no super, no penalties, no allowances, no physio, no counseling, no training, no other work related expenses.
